Lorraine Stanley, 45, admits she 'could barely look at herself' before weight loss and reveals she used jabs to help lose impressive 6.5 stone
The soap star, 45, who portrayed Karen Taylor in EastEnders from 2017 to 2024, has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past two years, shedding an impressive 6.5 stone.
Last month she showcased her weight loss in a glamorous sequin and tulle gown at the Paul Strank Summer Party, held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
Lorraine turned heads at the event in the eye-catching gown, which perfectly highlighted her slimmed-down figure.
Over the last two years, the soap star has committed to a complete lifestyle overhaul - and now looks almost unrecognisable compared to her former self.
And there was one powerful moment that sparked her journey.
In a new interview, Lorraine revealed that while watching herself in an episode of EastEnders, she realised she 'could barely look at myself'.
She told The Mirror: 'I know TV puts a stone on you, but… so yes, there was an element of vanity, but it was also me wanting to change things for my daughter and our future.'
After embracing a healthier lifestyle, Lorraine also opened up about how she lost the weight.
She told the publication: 'I'm not going to lie, nor am I promoting it, but I had weight loss surgery two years ago. I had a gastric sleeve.
'I went to a London clinic, paid an awful lot of money and had it done. It's hands-down the best thing I've ever done – both for me and for my family.'
It comes a month after Lorraine shared an Instagram photo as she proudly showed off her slimmer frame.
Posting a snap from an event, Lorraine looked gorgeous in a green and pink print co-ord.
Taking to her Instagram story, she also revealed a new milestone in her lifestyle overhaul.
She told fans: 'I'm five months sober and still had a good night dancing! #Sobriety.'
Lorraine's former co-stars rushed to the comments to praise the actress, with Diane Parish, who plays Denise in EastEnders, writing: 'You look incredible!'
Martin Fowler actor James Bye agreed, gushing in the comments: 'Look at you skinny minny xx miss you mate xx'
Lorraine has shared pictures with her social media followers along the way - and revealed she now feels better than ever.
On Instagram at the time, she said: 'What a difference a year makes.
'Five stone down, feeling good, clean living, healthy choices, new me, healthy mummy.'
The actress - who lost 12lbs in her first six weeks on the new diet - frequently praised her pal and fitness guru Louise.
She also praises her nutritionist friend who 'clued her up when it came to what she was eating day-to-day'.
Her gruelling daily workouts and a well-balanced food regime had a positive impact in Lorraine's life, who said of her journey: 'I'm enjoying it and I feel better for it.'
Spilling her diet hacks while chatting to Woman's Own magazine, Lorraine said: 'My mate Louise is my fitness guru. I've got her to thank for it.'
The actress recalled: 'I've eaten a lot of boiled eggs, fish, chicken, no carbs, no crisps and no chocolate.'

Strictly Come to Rehab? Two dancers at centre of BBC dancing show's cocaine storm 'will be offered professional support' by programme
BBC bosses are reportedly set to offer professional support to two stars of hit dancing show Strictly Come Dancing, amid allegations they took cocaine on the programme. The Sun reported that it was widely known the pair, who have not been named, took the Class A substance. It comes after it was revealed the broadcaster has hired a law firm to probe allegations of drug taking by two individuals, whose drug use is said to be 'well-known' on the show. The claims were reportedly made in a legal submission to the BBC by law firm Russells back in March, on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans. Last night a source told the newspaper: 'The BBC is taking the allegations really seriously. 'Bosses are aware of the two stars in question and have a duty of care to make sure they're OK. 'As per BBC policy, the option of specialised professional support is on the table and will be offered.' They added: 'While drug testing won't happen on the main show, bosses are considering bringing in random checks for the tour next year. 'The BBC needs to be sure nothing illegal is going on. 'It all depends on what the investigation finds.' The Daily Mail has contacted the BBC for comment. The shock allegations come just amid a long period of controversy for the BBC and Strictly over the past year or so. In July last year, more than six months after quitting the show citing 'personal reasons', actress Amanda Abbington accused pro dancer Giovanni Pernice of 'unnecessary, cruel and mean behaviour' during their time dancing together on Strictly. Giovanni rejected the claims immediately, and a BBC investigation ruled in September that her claims of physical aggression and threatening behaviour were not upheld. When BBC bosses published their report into Giovanni's behaviour, it cleared him of the most serious allegations of physical aggression, but upheld verbal bullying and harassment. Complaints of verbal bullying and harassment meant the BBC issued an apology to Amanda, but Giovanni said he was 'pleased the report has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour'.

Love Island fans work out reason Dejon apologised for his behaviour with ‘PR speech' during awkward Aftersun grilling
DEJON Noel-Williams has defended his romance with Meg Moore on Love Island – while saying he needs to "reflct on his actions". The couple, who have split viewership with their romance were put up against Ty and Angel on tonight's episode for a shock final dumping led by Maya Jama. 6 Former islanders delivering their brutal verdict by returning for a face-to-face vote, Dejon and Meg were sent packing a day before the final in a nailbitingly tight vote. Appearing shortly after on Aftersun, Dejon and Meg were grilled on their romance and time in the villa, with Maya asking them about missing out on the final. "We definitely expected it. We were really to go home, to be honest," Dejon told her. "I mentioned to the few boys that, like, I feel like my Love Island experience is finished because I came here and got what I wanted with Meg." During the final vote, the pair's connection was called into question, with some noting that they didn't think Dejon could remain faithful outside the villa as he had his "head turned" with newcomers frequently. However, others thought they had already passed the honeymoon period, with their squabbles being a sign of a settled relationship. "It was interesting the way that we got dumped, because I feel like the decisions were definitely… you kind of heard from both people's point of view," Dejon said. "Some people saw bad things and some people saw good things. So it definitely made me in this time of being like reflect on my actions over the villa." When Maya asked if he understood why some people may have thought he had a game plan, Dejon added: "Yeah, definitely. "Coming in, I just thought, I'm on Love Island. I'm gonna explore connections, I'm gonna be flirty, I'm gonna see what my strongest connection was," he explained. Love Island OG's Meg and Dejon DUMPED by returning islanders "But in the back of my head, I always knew it was Meg, so I definitely see why that kind of… there's a lot of opinions about that, and I feel like I could have explored connections with being less flirty and stuff." "I definitely understand why people have their opinions regarding that, and even there's times that, honestly, she's stuck by me, and she tells me how she feels, and she stuck by me more than more than she should. More than I deserve a lot of times. "I'm very, very grateful for her, and now hopefully I can show what she deserves." While the sweet moment seemed to go down well with Meg, viewers still remained unconvinced, questioning Dejon's authenticity and claiming his comments were "practiced" and for clout. 6 6 "The PR tour has started already with Meg and Dejon on #aftersun 'ready to leave' sureeeeeee," wrote one. "Giving too much pr don't let dejon get away with it," noted a second, while a third said: "Dejon doing the old PR routine in this interview." While others thought he had an ulterior motive, claiming: "The way Dejon keeps waffling on on Aftersun it reeks of trying to still get a brand deals when he's actually back in the UK." "Dejon is doing a whole lot of talking but not actually saying anything," said another. 6 6

Nadine Coyle takes to the stage alone as she performs without her Girls Aloud bandmates in South Tyneside - one year after their reunion tour
Nadine Coyle took to the stage in Tyne and Wear on Sunday as she performed solo without her Girls Aloud bandmates. The Northern Irish singer, 40, looked incredible as she dominated the stage at Bents Park, South Shields. Nadine was one of the final headliners for this year's South Tyneside Festival Sunday concert of 2025, which also saw Bjorn Again perform. She sang a selection of Girls Aloud's biggest tracks without the support of Cheryl, Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts by her side. Pictures from her set show Nadine putting on an aminated performance while in Cheryl's old stomping grounds of South Tyneside. Nadine wore a matching two-piece set which boasted a clinched waist, showing off her incredible figure. Her set comes weeks after Kimberley Walsh admitted that her Girls Aloud bandmates are now in a 'different stage' of their lives as she reflected on their emotional reunion tour. In May last year, the group returned to the stage for the first time in 11 years to go on a huge UK tour, where their late bandmate Sarah Harding was kept as the focus throughout. The show included songs dedicated to Sarah, as well as emotional montages of the late star and a rendition of I'll Stand By You featuring her vocals. Kimberley, 43, admitted it was the band's biggest challenge to ensure Sarah had her moment. She told the Mirror: 'That was a tough moment every night, but we all needed it too, we all needed the minute. As hard as it was, I loved that part of the show.' The tour was also special for another reason - it was the first time Kimberley, Cheryl, and Nadine's children saw their mums, and 'Auntie Nicola,' as popstars. 'I think it was a little bit mind-blowing for them,' Kimberley laughed, explaining that her children - Bobby, nine, Cole, seven, and two-year-old Nate - mostly know her for her presenting work. The singer revealed that the group brought their children along on the tour buses and said it was fun for the kids to enjoy the celebrations together. In May last year, the group returned to the stage for the first time in 11 years to go on a huge UK tour, where their late bandmate Sarah Harding was kept as the focus throughout Nadine's daughter Anaíya is just six months younger than Kimberley's eldest, Bobby, while there is are only a few months between Cole and Bear (Cheryl's son with the late Liam Payne). Kimberley added: 'For us as mums, we're in a very different stage of our lives, so we were able to enjoy it for ourselves but also see it through their eyes.' Nadine previously revealed how she 'lives life to the fullest' following Sarah's death after her battle with breast cancer. She told The Mirror: 'I just try to enjoy it, because Sarah really enjoyed life. She made the most of so many things. That's really important. 'You can worry about so much stuff that just becomes irrelevant. Hold the people close that you love and spend time having fun, as much as you can.'
