Boston man arrested for receiving child porn of minors between ages 3 and 10
Cess Frazier, 32, has been charged with one count of receipt of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said in a statement.
Frazier was arrested Tuesday at his home and he later made his initial appearance in federal court in Boston. He has been ordered detained pending a hearing scheduled for May 1.
According to the charging documents, investigators allegedly identified Frazier as a person who who had purchased child sexual abuse material.
During a search of Frazier's cell phone approximately 100 media files that depicted child sexual abuse material were allegedly found saved in Telegram Messenger.
The minor victims in the files are alleged to be between approximately three and 10 years old, according to prosecutors.
If convicted of the charge of receipt of child pornography, Frazier faces a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.

Boat trip to help son ends in wrench attack
Nicholas Edward Frazier agreed to take his son, who had been experiencing mental health issues, on a boat trip on Lake Michigan in an attempt to 'uplift his life.' But while they were out on Lake Michigan on June 19, the son, Nicholas Floyd Frazier, grabbed a large wrench. Nicholas Floyd Frazier, 20, of Chesterton, now is charged with a Level 3 felony of aggravated battery and a Level 5 felony of battery with a deadly weapon. A probable cause statement filed in Porter Superior Court outlines the circumstances of the son attacking his father. The elder Frazier's wife called the Lake Station Police to report the incident. The Lake Station Police officer took pictures of the man's head and arms. When law enforcement located the boat at Doyne's Marina in Portage, they found it was 'covered in blood.' There was a large amount of blood by the driver's seat and on the back side of the window at the helm of the boat. A bloody Craftsman socket wrench was also found In the boat. 'There was also visible blood on the deck at the center hatch, near the center's ventilation ports. Blood was also documented on the passenger seat, aft bench, starboard and on the docking lines,' the statement said. The younger Frazier had been hospitalized recently and was up all night. He asked his father to go out on the trip. The father said it was windy but agreed to go out on the lake. 'I was telling him everything and loving him,' the father said. While the father was driving, the son started hitting him in the back with a wrench. That happened in the area underneath the railroad bridge in Burns Ditch, just north of Portage Marina. 'He clubbed me so hard,' the father said. 'The attack was so fierce, I have never been attacked like that in my life.' At one point, both ended up out of the boat and into the water. They were both able to get back in the boat.

Karen Read's retrial: Judge declines to answer 4th jury question, calls it ‘theoretical'
The judge in Karen Read's murder retrial on Tuesday afternoon declined to answer a fourth question from the jury, deeming it 'theoretical,' shortly after ruling on an additional three questions about evidence and a verdict slip. When the court returned from its afternoon lunch break, Cannone announced that jurors had a fourth question: 'If we find not guilty on two charges but can't agree on one charge, is it a hung jury on all three charges or just one charge?' Cannone informed the court that she would respond to the jury and tell them that the question is 'theoretical' and not something she can answer. 'To me, it's a theoretical question, and we don't answer theoretical questions. I tell the jurors that they're not to be concerned with the consequences of their verdict, and that's exactly what they're doing here,' Cannone explained. Read attorney Alan Jackson urged Cannone to offer clarity in a quick note to the jury, emphatically stating, 'We're going to end up in the exact same position we were in last year.' Last year, the jury sent three notes to the judge over three days before a mistrial was declared due to a hung jury. Several jurors later came out to say that the panel had unanimously agreed that Read was not guilty of the most serious charge of second-degree murder. Cannone called the question 'premature,' noting that it 'may be something later.' Special prosecutor Hank Brennan endorsed Cannone's ruling. Earlier in the day, Cannone ruled on the following three questions: What is the timeframe for the OUI charge, 12:45 a.m. or 5 a.m.? Are video clips of Karen Read evidence, and how do we consider them? Does convicting guilty on a sub-charge convict on the overall charge? (In reference to the manslaughter OUI charge) Read, 45, of Mansfield, is accused of striking John O'Keefe, 46, with her Lexus SUV and leaving him to die alone in a blizzard outside of a house party in Canton at the home of fellow officer Brian Albert on Jan. 29, 2022, following a night of drinking. Throughout her second trial, the prosecution's theory of jaded love turned deadly was countered by a defense claim that a cast of tight-knit Boston area law enforcement killed a fellow police officer. Read's lawyers argued that O'Keefe was beaten, bitten by a dog, then left outside Albert's home in a conspiracy orchestrated by the police that included planting evidence against Read. Former House speaker, husband killed in politically motivated shooting, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz confirms that former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed Saturday in a politically motivated shooting. A second legislator was wounded on Saturday in attacks. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP's earlier story follows below. CHAMPLIN, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota mayor says two state lawmakers were shot in their homes early Saturday. Mayor Ryan Sabas of Champlin said state senator John Hoffman and state representative Melissa Hortman were shot, and that Hoffman's wife was also shot. A person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press that investigators believe that the suspect may have been posing as a law enforcement officer. The person said investigators were still working to establish motive for the attacks and were still in the early stages of an investigation. Gov. Tim Walz said the shooting was targeted. Hoffman, a Democrat, was first elected in 2012. He runs Hoffman Strategic Advisors, a consulting firm. He previously served as vice chair of the Anoka Hennepin School Board, which manages the largest school district in Minnesota. Hoffman is married and has one daughter. Hortman is the top House Democratic leader in the state Legislature and a former House speaker. She was first elected in 2004. Hortman, a lawyer, is married and has two children. Both Hoffman and Hortman represent districts located north of Minneapolis. The shootings happened at a time when political leaders nationwide have been attacked, harassed and intimidated during a time of deep political divisions. GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, released the following statement. 'I am horrified and heartbroken by last night's attack on two patriotic public servants,' Giffords said. 'My family and I know the horror of a targeted shooting all too well. An attack against lawmakers is an attack on American democracy itself. Leaders must speak out and condemn the fomenting violent extremism that threatens everything this country stands for.' Giffords was shot in the head in 2011 by a gunman who killed six people and injured 12 others. She stepped down from Congress in January 2012 to focus on her recovery. This is a developing story.
