Ric Flair And Other Legends Mourn The Death Of Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan died at the age of 71, less than a month shy of his 72nd birthday on August 11. It could be successfully argued that Hogan is the most famous and influential professional wrestler of all time.
While he has fallen from grace because of scandal and polarizing political views, there is no denying his impact. Thus, his passing has drawn immediate reaction and mourning from his contemporaries and many who benefited from the foundation he helped to establish.
Legendary wrestler Ric Flair was among many who paid their respects to the Hulkster.
UFC CEO Dana White paid tribute Hogan on his Instagram account.
Jake the Snake Roberts honors Hogan.
Charlotte Flair also honored Hogan, whom she said was there for her and her family when her dad, Ric, fell ill.
Kane, who worked one of his most memorable segments alongside The Rock and Hogan, also paid homage to the fallen legend.
Brutus Beefcake, another WWF legend, shared candid thoughts, expressed his love for Hogan, and wished they had time to mend their 'broken fences.'
Whether people love or hate him, without Hogan, there might be no WWE as we know it. Here's a list of some of Hogan's pro wrestling accomplishments, and why he is in almost every respectable GOAT conversation:
Six-Time WWF/WWE Champion
Hulk held the WWF/WWE Championship six times, with his first reign beginning in 1984 after defeating The Iron Sheik. He was the face of the WWF as it rose to popularity in the 1980s.

Hogan's fame allowed him to crossover into mainstream entertainment. He played a notable role in Rocky III (1982) as a professional wrestler named Thunderlips. In the film, he fought Rocky Balboa in a wrestler-boxer crossover event inspired by the Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki real-life event.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated awarded Hogan the title of Most Popular Wrestler of the Year five times (1985–1987, 1991, 1994).
The acknowledgment of Hogan's accomplishments is not an endorsement of any of his brands, political views, or a display of ignorance toward past transgressions.
Instead, it is a nod to the undeniable impact Hogan had on an industry I've loved since I was three years old, and quite honestly, he was the reason that little boy fell in love with it from the start.
Rest in peace, Hulk.

Following the chaotic main event of SummerSlam Night One, a new report has confirmed that the bloody nose suffered by GUNTHER was a planned storyline angle. The spot was reportedly used to write the former champion off of television so he can undergo legitimate nose surgery. The shocking and dramatic conclusion to the show saw CM Punk win the World Heavyweight Championship, only to immediately lose it to a cashing-in Seth Rollins. GUNTHER's "injury" was a key part of the layered story. The Bloody Angle Was "100% Worked" Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed his own previous report that GUNTHER was dealing with a real-life nose issue. He stated that the bloody finish to the match was a deliberate and planned way to write him out for surgery. The angle occurred at the conclusion of a brutal main event that saw CM Punk finally achieve his goal of winning a WWE world title after more than a decade. The emotional victory ended GUNTHER's dominant, year-long reign as World Heavyweight Champion. The post-match scene, with a bloodied GUNTHER, was used to sell the severity of the fight and protect the former champion in defeat. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - OCTOBER 11: A WWE logo is shown on a screen before a WWE news conference at T-Mobile Arena on October 11, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was announced that WWE wrestler Braun Strowman will face heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury and WWE champion Brock Lesnar will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez at the WWE's Crown Jewel event at Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 31. More The Ultimate Deception The drama did not end there. Moments after CM Punk's victory, Seth Rollins, who was believed to be out with a legitimate, career-threatening knee injury, sprinted to the ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase. One Stomp later, Seth Rollins was the new World Heavyweight Champion, ending Night One of SummerSlam in what is already being called one of the most shocking finishes in the event's history. GUNTHER's storyline injury now gives him a reason to be off TV while this new, chaotic chapter of the World Heavyweight Championship story begins. Watch Jelly Roll Fight Logan Paul in Much-Hyped WWE SummerSlam Match
The much-hyped battle between Jelly Roll and Logan Paul finally hit the ring Saturday at WWE's SummerSlam event, where the country singer and tag team partner Randy Orton faced off against the social media provocateur and his partner Drew McIntyre. The fight, which was set up over a month ago on Smackdown and was heavily promoted since then, marked Jelly Roll's first official match as a wrestler after making a handful of appearances at WWE events over the past year. More from Rolling Stone How to Watch WWE SummerSlam 2025 Online How to Watch 'WWE Friday Night SmackDown' Online Without Cable Hulk Hogan, Wrestling Superstar Turned Right-Wing Hero, Dead at 71 Jelly Roll — who claimed he broke his pinky and suffered other injuries while training for the match — endured a significant amount of beating during the match; at one point, Jelly Roll was outside the ring, lying on an announcers table when Paul jumped from the top post and landed on the singer, causing the table to overturn. 'The day the music died,' one of his opponents quipped. That aforementioned move knocked out Jelly Roll for a considerable amount of time as Orton fought against Paul and McIntyre alone. However, he recovered and made his way back to the ring 'like the walking dead' in time to accept Orton's tag-in, and delivered some clotheslines and choke slams on Paul to even up the match. However, the match concluded when Paul dropped his signature move the 'Paul from Grace' on Jelly Roll, who was then promptly pinned and defeated. Jelly Roll Slams Logan Paul on ‘Kimmel' Desk During Guest Host Debut
Jelly Roll literally came out swinging for his debut hosting gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live! During his interview with WWE wrestler Randy Orton, the pair were interrupted by none other than fellow WWE wrester Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Words were exchanged as McIntyre came in calling Jelly Roll an 'inspiration to trailer trash all across the world' for his 200-pound weight-loss, and McInytre and Orton began scrapping. As Jelly Roll tried to cut to commercial break after losing his guest, Paul came out on the show stage to admonish the singer, who he called 'Mr. Dummy Roll.' The influencer-turned-professional wrestler was met with a booing crowd, but that didn't stop him from trash talking the guest host. 'You people are so stupid, someone has to stop him,' Paul said before addressing Jelly Roll directly. 'I'll tell you what you are. You, my friend, are a greasy, redneck, prison rat,' Paul continued, referring to the singer's years behind bars before slapping Jelly Roll in the face. The crowd erupted into applause as Jelly Roll plugged his upcoming appearance at the WWE SummerSlam in August. The singer is up for a match with Paul and will be helped out by Orton. McIntyre will be Paul's fighting partner in the ring. The whole bit was a preview of that fight. It's not the first time that Jelly Roll, Orton, McIntyre, and Paul got into an altercation as a way to promote the upcoming fight. Last week, at Saturday's WWE Main Event in Nashville, Jelly Roll and Paul got into quite the altercation when the country singer came in to defend Orton. Orton had just been jump-kicked by wrestler Drew McIntyre when Paul began beating down on him too. Jelly Roll then grabbed Paul and laubched him across the ring before security came in to 'break up' the dramatized fight. As Orton said on the Kimmel show during his interview with Jelly Roll: 'Retribution is going to come quick and swift at SummerSlam.'
