Surf's on! Prince Harry, Meghan Markle enjoy beach day in California; son Archie hits the waves with surfing lessons
Prince Harry
and
Meghan Markle
were spotted enjoying a relaxed family day out with their 6-year-old son, Prince Archie, at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria, California, on Friday.
The outing offered a rare glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex soaking in the summer sun while cheering on Archie, who was seen taking surfing lessons.
The young royal appeared to be following in his father's footsteps, showing enthusiasm for the waves a sport Prince Harry has long enjoyed.
This wasn't Archie's first time on a surfboard. He was previously seen having surfing lessons with Harry earlier this year in January.
While Archie embraced the waves, Meghan and Harry kept a low profile, relaxing on the sand and engaging in casual conversations with fellow beachgoers, according to TMZ reports.
Photos showed the Duchess dressed in a breezy white shirt, rolled-up sleeves, and shorts, paired with a beige sun hat to shield herself from the sun.
Prince Harry sported a gray T-shirt, black shorts, and a tan baseball cap, looking every bit the laid-back dad.
Notably absent from the outing was the couple's younger child, Princess Lilibet, 3, who did not accompany her parents and brother to the beach.
This beach trip comes just weeks after the Sussexes shared a peek into their Fourth of July celebrations.
Meghan recently posted a video on Instagram assembling a red, white, and blue-themed charcuterie board, showcasing how she and the children marked the holiday at home.
Married since 2018, Harry and Meghan have consistently emphasised the importance of putting family first despite their busy lives.

Not a singer or an actress, but this superstar's granddaughter became a tarot reader, she once trained with Shah Rukh Khan, her name is...
In a world where legacy often writes your path, Vrinda Ganguly chose to break away. While her grandfather Kishore Kumar ruled Bollywood's golden era with hits in both acting and singing, and her father Amit Kumar carried forward the family's musical heritage, Vrinda walked off the stage — quite literally. She's not a playback singer, not an actress, and doesn't chase the spotlight. She reads energies instead — as a tarot card expert and spiritual mentor. And no, this wasn't a fallback career. It was a conscious choice. What was her connection to Bollywood? Vrinda's Bollywood link isn't just by blood. She trained at Barry John's acting studio — the same place that gave India Shah Rukh Khan. Technically, that makes her SRK's junior. But the arc shifted. In 2017, she decided she didn't want the screen. She wanted silence, intuition, and a space far removed from film sets. So what does she do now? Today, Vrinda Ganguly runs her own YouTube channel — VriEvolution . With a modest but growing base of subscribers, she shares tarot insights, spiritual guidance, and healing practices. Her presence spills onto Instagram and Facebook, where her aura speaks louder than legacy. And no — she isn't hidden in robes or clichés. Friends say she looks no less than any actress, but that isn't her calling. Tarot is. What about her family? Vrinda is the elder daughter of Amit Kumar. While her younger sister Muktika chose music, Vrinda took a path the family never expected — yet fully embraced. She's Kishore Kumar's granddaughter, but more importantly, she's her own person. In a world chasing fame, she chose inner fire. While most star kids run toward the arc lights, Vrinda turned inward. And maybe that's what makes her story quietly iconic — in a way Kishore Kumar would've probably smiled at.
