Randy Moss returning to ESPN's 'Sunday NFL Countdown' in 2025, per report
Randy Moss is returning to ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" for the 2025 season, per The Athletic's Andrew Marchand. The network announced on Dec. 6, 2024 that Moss would be stepping away from the show and Moss later revealed in an Instagram livestream he was recovering from surgery to treat cancer.
Moss explained in the livestream that he'd been treated for cancer found outside of his bile duct between his pancreas and liver. In all, he spent six days in the hospital for surgery, treatment and recovery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Less than two months later, Moss made an appearance on ESPN during Super Bowl 59, his first since undergoing cancer treatment.
He'd also appeared virtually during the NFL Honors broadcast to announce the winner of the Comeback Player of the Year award, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Now, Moss is set for a full return for the 2025 NFL season. This year marks his 10th with ESPN. He'll be back on "Sunday NFL Countdown" starting in Week 1.

Randy Moss reportedly makes major decision on TV career
NFL legend and former New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss is expected to return full-time to Sunday NFL Countdown after missing two months last season, following a cancer diagnosis. The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported the news on Tuesday. Moss made a brief return ahead of Super Bowl LIX in February. The emotional Pro Football Hall of Famer thanked all of his colleagues and former NFL teammates for sticking by his side after he received the diagnosis. "Hey ya'll, I can't do it alone, and I really thank ya'll, NFL, my teammates. ...Hey guys, it's been hard, but I got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me. ...God bless you all, man. God is good," Moss said on NFL Countdown. After undergoing surgery, Moss is reportedly well enough to resume his weekly Sunday appearances on the show. ESPN released the following statement to The Athletic: 'Randy's return on Super Bowl Sunday was an emotional lift — not just for our team but for the entire football community — and knowing he will resume his full Sunday NFL Countdown schedule, beginning in Week 1, has been the highlight of the offseason." Santi Aldama agrees to three-year contract extension with Memphis Grizzlies
Santi Aldama is expected to sign a three-year extension to remain with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to a June 30 report from ESPN. The new deal is expected to be worth $52 million. The NBA free agency period opened at 5 p.m. CT on June 30. Teams may talk with players and come to an agreement, but contracts cannot be signed until July 6. Advertisement Aldama, a 6-foot-11 forward, was acquired by Memphis in the 2021 NBA Draft with the 30th overall pick. He has worked his way into one of the team's best scorers in a reserve role. He averaged a career-high 12.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in the 2024-25 season. Memphis is losing 3-point shooting after Desmond Bane was traded, and Luke Kennard reportedly will sign with the Atlanta Hawks. That made bringing back Aldama even more important. He shot 37.5% on 3-pointers last season, making two per game. Damichael Cole is the Memphis Grizzlies beat writer for The Commercial Appeal. Memphis Grizzlies, Jaren Jackson Jr. agree to five-year extension
The Memphis Grizzlies and Jaren Jackson Jr. have reached an agreement on a new five-year extension, according to a report from ESPN. Jackson was expected to renegotiate the last season on his current contract and sign a new deal worth $240 million for the next five seasons. That deal would make Jackson the highest-paid Grizzlies player in franchise history. Advertisement Extending Jackson was the top priority for the Grizzlies this offseason. Without Jackson being named All-NBA, he was not eligible for a five-year supermax extension that would have been worth roughly $345 million. So the Grizzlies have had to get creative in finding a route to secure an extension before he potentially reached free agency in 2026. Memphis is entering the free agency period, which began June 30, with salary cap space. That was made possible after it traded Marcus Smart at the February trade deadline, then renounced the rights to free agents Marvin Bagley III and Luke Kennard. Jackson's new deal is expected to begin during the 2025-26 season. Advertisement In seven seasons, he has become a two-time All-Star and made three NBA All-Defensive teams while turning into a much improved scorer. Memphis will now continue to build its roster around Jackson and Ja Morant for the foreseeable future. Along with a draft class centered on defensive intensity, the team is reportedly signing Cam Spencer and Santi Aldama to new contracts.
