Liam Payne recorded two albums before passing, family considers posthumous release for fans
Payne, known for his work with One Direction, died at age 31 in October 2024 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to the Daily Mail, the first album was recorded in Camden, North London, with producer Jamie Scott, who previously worked with One Direction.
The second album was created in Palm Beach, Florida, and Sweden during the summer of 2024, a period described by friends as one of renewed focus on music and wellness.
Roger Nores, a long-time friend, shared that Payne 'was really looking after himself' and 'had turned a corner' during these sessions, reflecting a period of sobriety and dedication to music.
Sources have indicated that Payne's family, including his father Geoff and sisters Ruth and Nicola, are in discussions about releasing select tracks from the albums alongside the Netflix series Building The Band, which features Payne in a mentoring role. However, no decision has been finalised.
Nicola Payne expressed her feelings in a post, stating that watching the series 'has given me a way to feel close to you.'
Payne's estate, valued at £24.3 million, will go to his son Bear, with singer Cheryl Tweedy named as one of the executors.
As fans continue to share tributes, Payne's family is balancing public interest with privacy while considering how to honour his legacy.
