Stellantis has unveiled the latest high-performance offering from Ram, introducing the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO Mopar Edition, a limited-run truck boasting 540 horsepower, lifted suspension, and exclusive styling aimed at enthusiasts seeking both style and substance.
This special-edition truck is limited to just 250 units, each distinguished by a unique Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat exterior with bold Mopar Blue and Grey graphics. Setting it apart from the standard RHO, the Mopar Edition rides two inches higher and gains larger, 35-inch tires compared to the stock model's 33-inch setup.
Under the hood is Stellantis' powerful twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine, producing an impressive 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. The Hurricane engine's lighter weight—150 pounds less than the outgoing Hellcat V8 found in the discontinued Ram TRX—allowed engineers to comprehensively retune the truck's suspension for improved performance and handling.
The Mopar Edition features Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, forged aluminum control arms, and active performance damping, providing an additional inch of rear axle travel compared to the iconic Ram TRX.
Inside, the truck comes equipped with premium Natura Plus leather seats featuring suede inserts, 12-way power adjustability, massage functionality, and special Mopar "Greystone" stitching. Additionally, the interior includes Mopar's exclusive accessory rail atop the dashboard, ideal for mounting action cameras and accessories.
Mopar also adds practical enhancements, including a spray-in bedliner, integrated bed-mounted spare tire carrier, and a RamBar accessory rail equipped with dual 12-inch LED lights. A custom Mopar dual exhaust system with dual-wall tips promises a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note. Each buyer also receives an exclusive 83-piece Mopar toolkit.
Priced competitively with a $6,500 premium over the standard Ram RHO, the Mopar Edition pickup provides exceptional value and exclusivity, positioning itself as a future collectible for truck enthusiasts.

'We're Getting the Band Back Together': Stellantis Stock (NASDAQ:AVAV) Notches Up on Multiple Moves

Today proved to be a big day for legacy automaker Stellantis (STLA), which brought back a division, expanded a major leadership slot, and even brought out some less-than-exciting sales numbers. All of this together left investors a bit conflicted, but optimistic enough to send Stellantis shares rising fractionally in Wednesday afternoon's trading. New CEO Antonio Filosa hit the ground running, setting up a major shift in the company's leadership by moving Tim Kuniskis to take over all American brands. Kuniskis will now be handling lead marketing and strategy duties for North America as well. Given that Kuniskis was already in charge of Ram, this makes particular sense; Ram is a major brand in the United States, and now, he handles all of the United States' brands. Stellantis is also restarting its Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, which will bring in engineers across several brands to put more design capability into the high-performance divisions. Kuniskis declared, 'SRT is another box we needed to check. We're getting the band back together.' And Kuniskis has an ambitious schedule ahead of him, with plans to bring out 25 new products over the next year and a half. And Not a Moment Too Soon This comes at a time when Stellantis is in desperate need of something, anything, that will inject new life into the company and new cash into its coffers. Stellantis' second-quarter sales figures demonstrated as much when they were released. Stellantis' quarterly sales dropped 10% in the United States for the second quarter of 2025, reaching just 309,976 cars sold. This is actually something of a pattern at Stellantis, as reports noted that sales were down 15% against the year prior in the second quarter of 2024 as well. First-quarter sales for 2025 were down as well, down 12% against the first quarter of 2024. This is, hopefully, a development Kuniskis can turn around with his new command position over the North American brands. Is Stellantis Stock a Good Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on STLA stock based on four Buys, 10 Holds, and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 48.57% loss in its share price over the past year, the average STLA price target of $11.65 per share implies 13.49% upside potential.

‘Unexpected Direction' – Thousands of Stellantis Vehicles Recalled on Gear Safety Fears

Cable Bushings The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said today it had opened a recall query into about 299,000 vehicles from Stellantis, whose brands include Chrysler, Dodge and Fiat, after receiving complaints about faulty shifter cable bushings. A bushing, usually made of rubber, connects the shifter cable to the transmission system, allowing the vehicle to change gears. If the bushing is damaged or missing, the vehicle could move in an unexpected and unhelpful direction. The NHTSA said Fiat Chrysler in April 2019 had issued a recall on certain Dodge Dart vehicles produced between February 2012 and October 2014 in order to replace the bushing. The updated part prevented deterioration from chemicals, oils, and solvents. However, the NHTSA received 44 consumer complaints alleging worn, misadjusted or detached shifter cables after the recall remedy was completed. Reputational Hit The NHTSA said its Office of Defects Investigation launched the latest investigation to evaluate whether the original recall fix was effective, determine what caused the bushing failures, and explore any other factors that could impact how the shifter cable functions. Only last week Stellantis said it was recalling 250,651 vehicles in the U.S., due to an improperly sealed side curtain air bag. Other recalls this year include 235,640 Ram ProMaster vans with faulty rearview camera systems, 33,777 Ram 1500 trucks with headlight failure issues and 10,396 Ram 1500 pickup trucks with tire pressure monitor errors. At a difficult time for the auto industry given tariff uncertainty and faltering consumer confidence, this spate of recalls is an unwelcome hit to brand reputation. Is STLA a Good Stock to Buy Now? On TipRanks, STLA has a Hold consensus based on 4 Buy, 10 Hold and 1 Sell ratings. Its highest price target is $15.33. STLA stock's consensus price target is $11.65 implying a 13.99% upside.

Tesla competitor BYD axes Mexico factory plans

BYD is halting Mexico factory plans over US trade policy concerns. US tariffs on Mexico-made cars are affecting automakers including Nissan and Stellantis. BYD is opening a factory in Brazil, its first outside Asia. The world's largest electric vehicle maker is halting plans to build a major factory in Mexico due to concerns about US trade policies. On Wednesday, BYD said that the company still plans to expand further into North or South America, but it does not have a timeline for the plan. "Geopolitical issues have a big impact on the automotive industry," Stella Li, an executive vice president, said in an interview with Bloomberg. "Now everybody is rethinking their strategy in other countries. We want to wait for more clarity before making our decision." In September, Bloomberg reported that the EV giant would not announce a major plant investment in Mexico until after the US election. In March, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said BYD had not made a formal offer to invest in the country. President Donald Trump's tariffs have been a big pain point for US and global automakers. Cars coming from Mexico to the US remain subject to a 25% tariff. Car manufacturers have responded in various ways, from offering discounts to shoppers who hope to avoid future price hikes to adding import fees on vehicles built outside the US. Some producers, like Stellantis and Nissan, have cut back on Mexico-based production. In the region, BYD is opening a plant in the Brazilian state of Bahia, the company's first factory outside Asia. In December, Brazilian authorities halted the construction of BYD factory and sued the company, saying that construction workers lived in slavery-like conditions. Over 160 workers had been rescued from the working conditions, according to a statement from a Brazilian labour authority. The statement said that workers were put in "degrading" conditions and had their passports and salaries withheld by a service provider for BYD. At the time, BYD said affected workers had been moved to hotels. It added that it had conducted a "detailed review" of the working and living conditions for subcontracted employees and asked on "several occasions" for the construction firm to make improvements. On Wednesday, Li said the episode prompted the company to reassess its approach to international expansion. "We should slow down, step back from the focus on speed. We need to work more with local companies," she said. "It will take longer, but that's OK." Chinese players, including BYD, Xiaomi, Nio, and Xpeng, have been undercutting Tesla's prices and gaining market share in China and Europe. BYD is on track to sell more than 5 million cars this year, and the company sold more EVs than Tesla in Europe for the first time in April. BYD stock is up 38% so far this year because of strong battery technology, its affordability , and global expansion . Read the original article on Business Insider Sign in to access your portfolio
