Boy, 6, found covered in blood after having genitals cut off in 'voodoo' attack

Daily Record08-07-2025
The maimed boy was found crying in a ditch by people living in the South African scrubland. They rushed to his aid and saw he had been castrated and was bleeding out
A six year old boy was discovered in a ditch, drenched in blood after being pinned down, pepper-sprayed, and horrifically mutilated. Rumours suggest the assault might be linked to voodoo or Satanism.
The young boy was found bleeding profusely, wailing for help, coated in his own blood amidst South African bushland. Locals hastened to his rescue upon hearing his desperate cries.

Initially fearing he had been stabbed, they were appalled to realise he had been castrated.

He was located on rugged terrain near a gold mine within the Blue Skye informal settlement, perilously close to death due to blood loss, as reported by The Mail Online. The community of Boksburg in Gauteng Province was left reeling from the news of the gruesome attack, with parents deeply concerned for their own children's safety.
One local, who wished to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation, said: "Who would do such a thing to such a little boy – it really is the cruellest of the cruel. To pepper spray the little boy is bad enough but to cut off his genitals is just barbaric and that kid will have mental issues for the rest of his life.", reports the Mirror US.
Another resident said: "The rumours are it is Satanism or taking body parts for a voodoo ritual but this little boy will now not be able to have children ever."
Resident Chantel Naude expressed her concerns, saying: "I am considering moving out of the area as we feel unsafe as I have boys as well and don't want them attacked as well. I know the boy and he is often around looking for a bit of food or a bit of loose change and he gets by and is always smiling and is always polite.
"He was found out in an overgrown field with his genitals missing and unable to see properly due to the pepper spray which is dreadfully painful on its own."
The emergency services declined to confirm if both his penis and testes were affected. Boksburg South African Police station commander Colonel Matshedeso Mbele confirmed that they are investigating a case of attempted murder.
She would not comment on the nature of his severe injuries and stated it is currently unclear whether adults or older children perpetrated the attack.
Colonel Mbele noted that the assault occurred on March 1, with paramedics swiftly transporting the victim to hospital, where he is now thankfully in a stable condition.

Royal Caribbean crew member, 35, jumps to his death off cruise ship near San Salvador 'after stabbing female coworker, 28'

A Royal Caribbean crew member jumped to his death after he stabbed a female coworker while the ship was cruising through the Bahamas. The unidentified South African male crew member, 35, stabbed his 28-year-old coworker, who was also South African, multiple times during a personal dispute, the cruise line and the Royal Bahamas Police Force said. 'One of the crew members was injured, [she] was attended to by the onboard medical team, and she is now in stable condition,' Royal Caribbean told Daily Mail in a statement. 'Unfortunately, the other crew member is deceased after he went overboard.' After stabbing her, he plunged off the ship around 7pm on Thursday, and as Oscar alert - which notifies ship passengers that someone went over - was immediately enacted. Rescue crews retrieved his body shortly after he went overboard and he was found unresponsive. Crews could be seen performing CPR, but he was eventually declared deceased. Royal Bahamian Police Force told Daily Mail in a statement that the 'matter is presently being investigated.' 'The cruise ship just arrived on the island this morning,' a spokesperson told Daily Mail. Rescue efforts were deployed immediately on Thursday and the boat turned back toward the overboard man. The boat was near San Salvador, which is roughly 200 miles East of Nassau, when it turned backed. The Icon of the Seas ship runs a seven-day trip, where the last stop before returning to the US is at CocoCay, Bahamas, a private island owned by the Royal Caribbean. The ship is about on course and is expected to return to Miami on Saturday. The Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world at nearly 1,200 feet long. It cost $2billion to build the vessel and was one of the most expensive ever. It holds up to 7,600 passengers and weighs at about 250,800 tons.

British nationals jailed in Indonesia for drug offences

Jonathan Christopher Collyer, 28, and his partner Lisa Ellen Stocker, 29, were arrested on February 1 after customs officers found 993 grammes (2.2 pounds) of cocaine worth an estimated six billion rupiah (£271,731). The drugs were hidden among sachets of powdered dessert mix. Two days later, authorities arrested Phineas Ambrose Float, 31, after a delivery of the drugs arranged by police. During their June trial, defence lawyers argued their clients were unaware the food given to them in England contained cocaine. On Thursday, the three-judge panel in Denpasar District Court handed down one-year prison terms for each defendant minus time served, making them eligible for release in seven months. Eleonora Gracia, 46, was arrested in March at Bali's airport with 244 grammes (0.5 pounds) of cocaine. Authorities alleged she handed over the cocaine to Elliot James Shaw, 50, during a police sting operation at a Bali hotel. The sentences were considered lenient as Indonesia typically hands out severe punishments for drug smuggling, including the death penalty. Indonesian authorities also said they recently arrested a Brazilian man and a South African woman accused of smuggling cocaine. The 25-year-old Brazilian man, identified by the initials YB, was arrested on July 13 shortly after arriving from Dubai and charged with carrying 3,086 grammes (6.8 pounds) of cocaine in his suitcase and backpack at Bali's Ngurah Rai international airport, said Made Sinar Subawa, head of the Eradication Division at Bali's Narcotic Agency. The same day, customs officers seized 990 grammes (2.1 pounds) of cocaine they say was being carried in the underwear of a 32-year-old South African woman, identified as LN, it was said. About 530 people are on death row in Indonesia, mostly for drug-related crimes, including 96 foreigners, according to Ministry of Immigration and Corrections data. Indonesia's last executions of a citizen and three foreigners were carried out in July 2016. The country has upheld a moratorium on execution since 2017. President Prabowo Subianto has moved to repatriate several high-profile foreign inmates, all sentenced to death or life in prison for drug offenses, back to their home countries since he took office in October. A British woman, Lindsay Sandiford, now 69, has been on death row in Indonesia for more than a decade. She was arrested in 2012 with 3.8 kilograms (8.4 pounds) of cocaine in her luggage. Serge Atlaoui, an ailing Frenchman, returned to France in February after Jakarta and Paris agreed to repatriate him on 'humanitarian grounds'. Indonesia took Mary Jane Veloso off death row and returned her to the Philippines in December. In the same month, the government sent to Australia the five remaining members of a drug ring known as the 'Bali Nine'.
