A Festival That's Basically a Playground for Movie Nerds
If you're the kind of person who lives for late-night horror marathons, cult classics, or just anything that makes you go "wait, what did I just watch?", then the
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival
(BIFAN) is your spiritual home.

On July 3rd, the 29th edition of this wild, genre-bending film fest exploded to life in Bucheon, South Korea. For the uninitiated, this isn't your regular red-carpet snoozefest-it's a full-on celebration of experimental, boundary-pushing movies that don't fit into boring boxes.
Think of it as the K-pop of film festivals: loud, proud, and absolutely unapologetic about loving the weird stuff. And honestly, in a country where Bollywood masala and Tollywood thrillers rule the screens, Indian youth would totally vibe with BIFAN's energy.
Opening Night: Glitz, Glam, and Goosebumps
The opening ceremony? Oh, it was pure spectacle. Imagine the energy of a massive college fest, but with international movie stars, legendary directors, and a crowd that's buzzing like it's the IPL finals. The festival rolled out the red carpet for filmmakers, actors, and fans from all over the world. This year, BIFAN is screening a jaw-dropping lineup of experimental genre films-horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and everything in between.
If you've ever wished for a film festival that treats horror and fantasy with the same respect as "serious" cinema, this is it. The kind of place where a zombie flick can get a standing ovation and nobody bats an eyelid if a director's outfit is as wild as their movie plot.
Plus, the festival's vibe is less "stuffy art gallery" and more "giant sleepover with movie geeks from around the world." There's a real sense of community, with fans and creators geeking out together, swapping recommendations, and sometimes even cosplaying as their favourite characters.

It's the kind of energy you'd find at a comic con in Mumbai, but with an international twist.
The Global Power of
Korean Cinema
(And Why We're Obsessed)
The opening film, the movie 'Love Lies Bleeding', is a thriller film that tells the story of a woman who works at a gym as the daughter of a criminal family and gets involved in a murder case as she falls in love with a man who dreams of winning a bodybuilding competition.
Let's be real-Korean pop culture is already a big deal in India. From BTS and BLACKPINK to K-dramas that make us cry at 3 AM, we're hooked. BIFAN is another reminder that Korea isn't just about catchy tunes and swoon-worthy actors-it's also a powerhouse for innovative cinema.
The festival's focus on genre films means you get to see stories and visuals you won't find anywhere else.

Haryanvi Rapper Fazilpuria Survives Targeted Shooting Near Gurugram, Probe Underway

Last Updated: Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria survives a targeted firing near Gurugram. Unknown gunmen opened fire on his car; no injuries reported. Investigation is underway. Haryanvi music sensation Fazilpuria, known for his infectious beats and flamboyant style, had a terrifying brush with death on Monday, July 14, when unidentified assailants opened fire at his vehicle on the Southern Peripheral Road near Badshahpur, on the outskirts of Gurugram. According to initial media reports, Fazilpuria—whose real name is Rahul Yadav—was inside his car when several rounds were fired in what appears to be a planned and targeted attack. Fortunately, the singer escaped unscathed, though the incident has sent shockwaves across the regional music industry and among his fans. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the assailants managed to flee the scene immediately after the attack, leaving behind no injuries but plenty of unanswered questions. The police have begun an investigation, and as of now, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Authorities are looking into every angle, including whether the incident may be linked to previous controversies involving the artist. Fazilpuria, who hails from Fazilpur village near Gurugram—hence the stage name—has long been a prominent figure in the Haryanvi and Punjabi music scene. He first rose to nationwide fame with the 2014 breakout hit Ladki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chull, which went on to be featured in the Bollywood film Kapoor & Sons (2016), starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Fawad Khan. The track, produced by Badshah, became a youth anthem and solidified Fazilpuria's place in the Indian pop culture landscape. His other popular tracks, including Jimmy Choo, Party, and Millionaire, showcase his signature fusion of desi beats, luxury aesthetics, and unapologetic swagger. Known for his love of flashy cars, designer fashion, and bold statements, Fazilpuria is as much a style icon as he is a hitmaker. In recent years, Fazilpuria's name has also surfaced in headlines for more controversial reasons, including an investigation involving snake venom use in entertainment videos. He is also known to share a close bond with popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav, whose name, too, has been linked to similar cases. As fans reel from the shocking news, many have taken to social media to express their support and relief over his safety, urging authorities to swiftly bring the culprits to justice.
