Opening Credits
Emma
I wanted to sign up to have a fun experience and meet someone new.
Matt
A friend of mine had gone on a Cupid date about a year ago, so at a dinner I was persuaded to sign up.
Emma
I power-walked home from the train after work listening to SZA and then immediately got dressed and left for the date.
Matt
I went on a run after finishing work and listened to all of
Turn On the Bright Lights
by Interpol.

Emma
Matt was already there and we made eye contact. He had good style and was wearing a nice jacket. He seemed relaxed.
Matt
Emma was very cute. She wore a pair of overalls and a sweater.

Emma
We immediately started talking about why we had decided to do this. It took us a while to order so we also talked about his shellfish allergy and movies, particularly our mutual love for the Coolidge Corner Theatre.
Matt
We talked about how Cupid feels old-worldly in a neat way and how more Boston young people should sign up for it just to have a story.
Emma
I discovered one of his favorite movies is
Uncut Gems,
which I had watched the night before. We had very different opinions about it.
Matt
Emma is a massive reader, not in the trashy romance novels way, but degree in English studying the classics and likes to read creative nonfiction way. She gave me a lot of incredible recs.
Emma
I got seafood risotto and he got a pasta dish. The food was great and so was the service.
Matt
We ordered a tuna ceviche app then ended up opting out of eating tapas-style because of my allergy. Even though I couldn't partake, I think tapas for a first date is sweet — it forces you to work together.

Emma
We honestly didn't have too much in common but that wasn't really a big deal. He had some interesting takes that put me a little bit on edge but I also enjoy a lively and sometimes combative conversation.
Matt
Emma seemed like someone who was truly open-minded and interested in sharing her ideas of the world, which I think is beautiful. I felt a twinge of sadness when I realized we had finished dinner and still had so much to talk about so I asked if she wanted to stay for another drink. It was really lovely.
Final Scene
Emma
We hugged and made a joke about making a shared Google doc to write really mean answers to these questions about each other (we didn't do this). He gave me his phone number.
Matt
I gave her a hug and walked her to her bike. I feel grateful that I got the chance to share the evening with someone as interesting, smart, and kind as Emma.
Second Date?
Emma
No, but we might hang out as friends.
Matt
No, Emma is moving to Ireland this summer, and I got a heartfelt email from my ex-girlfriend before the date that I have to reflect on, but I would love to keep on as friends.

Watch ‘Sinners' Star Miles Caton Show Off His Holy Vocals on Soulful Cover of SZA's ‘Snooze'

Miles Caton isn't missing his moment. Amid his newfound fame from starring in Ryan Coogler's Sinners, the actor-musician showed off his vocal talents with a new cover of SZA's 'Snooze' that fans are absolutely loving. In a recent TikTok, Caton sits in a recording studio while holding up a mic, casually spinning slightly in his swivel chair as he sings. 'I can't lose when I'm with you/ How can I snooze and miss the moment?' he croons with silky soulfulness. 'You just too important/ Nobody do body like you do.' Just a month before the song's peak, Justin Bieber had joined SZA on an acoustic version of the track. Caton's followers loved what he did with the song, with one person writing in the comments of his TikTok, 'I didn't know I needed to hear sammie sing SZA until now,' referencing the name of his character in Sinners. 'sing it preacher boy!!!' another viewer wrote, while a third person commented, 'i need you to drop some music like NOW.' Sinners premiered in theaters in April, earning critical acclaim and marking Caton's acting debut. In an interview with Variety that month, Coogler said that he knew there was something special about Caton from the moment he saw the young star's audition tape. 'He was just in the dark — like he didn't turn his lights on,' the director told the publication at the time. 'Something about that was, like, so intriguing. This kid looked like he was in his basement, like in between homework assignments. But he had this voice — a once in a lifetime voice — and he also felt like the character.' Before making his acting debut, Caton gained traction as a musician, performing with artists such as H.E.R. In 2023, he dropped a single titled 'This Ain't It.' Watch Caton's cover of 'Snooze' below. I tried my husband's ‘carefree approach' to parenting — here's what surprised me the most

When Emma's husband told her she needed to take a 'carefree approach' to parenting 'just like him,' she figured she had two options: Ignore him or take him up on his advice. 'I'm spending the day doing just that,' she said in a recent TikTok. 3 'I'm spending the day doing just that,' a mom named Emma said in a recent TikTok about channeling her husband's 'carefree approach' to parenting. tiktok/@thebambibase 'So much has changed with parenting' Taking to the app, Emma shared how she ran her day caring for her two daughters in total dad mode. 'Most moms change their lives a lot to become the main caretaker and dads still get to maintain a lot of their original lifestyle and have a lot more of a laidback and easy going approach to parenting,' Emma told Kidspot. 'I think so much has changed with parenting since 'back in the day' where the responsibility to parent was solely on the mother and now dads are becoming more and more hands on.' 3 Emma shared how she ran her day while caring for her daughters. tiktok/@thebambibase Emma wanted to flip the script and show just how important balance is when parenting alongside a partner. In a creative use of sarcasm, she said yes to things she'd usually say no to: Extra screen time. Chips in bed before 10am. A nutritious bowl of noodles for lunch. She took a load off too. A quick nap, no vacuuming, watching sports and Instagram videos (specifically on high volume). She even got to 'put on some multis because budgets don't apply to me.' 3 The mom took a quick nap, did no vacuuming, and watched sports and Instagram videos. tiktok/@thebambibase It clearly struck a chord. 'I think I just said things that most moms want to say but don't say it,' Emma said. 'Judging by the number of direct shares and comments on the video, most moms used my video to say it to their partners anyway.' 'I definitely ruined their day' What surprised Emma most was the reaction. 'I was surprised as to how many people thought I was being serious, but I was even more surprised as to how many people jumped on board and backed me up,' she revealed. But she's more curious about the dads who watched it. 'I can imagine I definitely ruined their day,' she joked. As for her husband, his response was pretty on-brand. 'After a quick eye roll and a mumble under his breath, he laughed and said I was funny,' she explained. 'He kept checking on the feedback on the video, mostly laughing at himself though, because he is the star of the video after all.' And it seems the internet agrees. Several commenters are already calling for a part two. It looks like Emma's only just scratched the surface of the carefree dad iceberg.

(Photo by) Kendrick Lamar and SZA only have a few dates in the United Kingdom on their Grand National Tour. The two superstars have already performed in Glasgow, Scotland, and Birmingham, England. Later this month, they will entertain massive crowds in Cardiff and London before heading to major cities across Europe and then traveling on to Central and South America. Amidst all the excitement of the tour touching down in the U.K., Lamar's fans have not only continued to consume his music, but have done so in such large numbers that multiple albums and singles return to the charts. 'Money Trees' and 'TV Off' Return Two of Lamar's fan-favorite hits reappear on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart this week. 'Money Trees,' a collaboration with Jay Rock, and 'TV Off' with Lefty Gunplay, reenter the list of the bestselling hip-hop, R&B, and rap tracks in the country at Nos. 28 and 33, respectively. Those tunes join 'All the Stars' with SZA (No. 6), 'Not Like Us' (No. 9), and 'Luther,' also with SZA (No. 10), on the same ranking. Kendrick Lamar Beats Drake and The Weeknd Lamar is the only artist who fills five spots on the 40-rung Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart this frame. Two other stars, Drake and The Weeknd, claim three wins each, but as 'Money Trees' and 'TV Off' return, Lamar jumps into first place among all acts. Five Kendrick Lamar Albums Chart Together A pair of Lamar's albums also find their way back to various rankings. GNX, which the rapper is promoting on his current tour, reappears on four rosters and climbs the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart, breaking back into the top 10. That recent release is joined by Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which lands in second-to-last place at No. 39 on the same tally, after disappearing again not long ago. After not taking up space on the genre-specific chart just days ago, those two bestsellers join To Pimp a Butterfly, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, and DAMN., all of which rise across the same roster.
