Mission Impossible 8, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is nearing Rs 80 crore in India after 11 days.
Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 8 is racing full speed at the box office. After 11 days of explosive action, the film is zooming toward a whopping Rs 80 crore mark in India. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and co-written with Erik Jendresen, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning marks Tom Cruise's final outing as the legendary spy Ethan Hunt. The film also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett.
On its second Tuesday, the film added Rs 2.25 crore to its earnings, pushing its total box office collection in India to Rs 77.10 crore.
Tom Cruise had even thanked everyone for the response his film received. In a note, he wrote, 'This weekend was one for the history books! Congratulations and thank you to every filmmaker, every artist, every crew member, and every single person who works at the studios. To every theater and every employee who helps bring these stories to audiences, thank you. To every one that works at Paramount Pictures and Skydance, thank you for your many years of partnership and unwavering support. And most of all, THANK YOU to audiences everywhere for whom we all serve and for whom we all LOVE to entertain."
Mission Impossible 8 had released on May 17 after a successful premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. It earned over five-minute standing ovation.
Ahead of the release, Tom Cruise had left Indian fans delighted by speaking in Hindi during a promotional video. 'Main aap sab se bahut pyaar karta hoon. Mujpe bharosa karo, ek akhri baar (I love you all a lot. Trust me one last time)," he said. He also shared his fond memories of visiting India, adding, 'I feel so much love for India. I have to say the whole experience has been etched in my memory. Every single moment. From the moment I landed, going to the Taj Mahal, and spending time in Mumbai, I remember each moment quite vividly."
A part of News18's review of the film read, 'But what truly sets The Final Reckoning apart is its tone. It's not just an action blockbuster. It's an elegy. A goodbye. A thank-you. And somehow, despite all the chaos, it's also a reckoning with legacy, with sacrifice, with what it really means to be a hero when the world keeps moving the goalpost. The Final Reckoning is the most fitting, heart-racing, gut-wrenching finale Ethan Hunt could've asked for. If this really is the last mission, then hats off, Mr. Cruise. You didn't just complete it. You aced it."

Box Office: Sitaare Zameen Par collects Rs 132 crore in 2 weeks, Aamir Khan starrer aims at Rs 160 crore finish in India

Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan in the lead alongside an ensemble cast of specially challenged real-life individuals, has completed its two-week run at the box office. The movie, directed by RS Prasanna, not only won the audience's love but also emerged as a Clean Hit venture. Sitaare Zameen Par collects Rs 132 crore net in 14 days in India Bankrolled by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par debuted with an impressive Rs 87.50 crore net in its opening week. It stormed past the Rs 100 crore mark on its second Saturday (Day 9) and wrapped its second weekend by adding Rs 32.50 crore net to the tally. The movie experienced a significant drop on weekdays as it lost major screens to new releases, including Maa and F1 (Formula One). It netted just Rs 12 crore from the second Monday to the second Thursday, ending the second week at Rs 44.50 crore net. With its impressive opening week and a decent second week, the total two-week cume of Sitaare Zameen Par now stands at Rs 132 crore net at the Indian box office. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Sitaare Zameen Par Are As Under Particulars India Net Collection Week 1 Rs 87.50 crore 2nd Friday Rs 6.50 crore 2nd Saturday Rs 12.25 crore 2nd Sunday Rs 13.75 crore 2nd Monday Rs 3.50 crore 2nd Tuesday Rs 3.50 crore 2nd Wednesday Rs 2.50 crore 2nd Thursday Rs 2.50 crore Total Rs 132 crore net in 14 days Sitaare Zameen Par targets Rs 160 crore finish Co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, the sports drama should aim for an encouraging jump on the third weekend. However, the movie is facing two new releases this weekend as Metro…In Dino and Jurassic World Rebirth arrived in cinemas. Since Aamir Khan is in no mood to bring the movie on OTT platforms anytime soon, Sitaare Zameen Par will continue to stick in cinemas for the long run. This move can eventually benefit the film and take its lifetime earnings to an expected figure of Rs 160 crore net in India. Though it is not a reasonable figure for an Aamir Khan starrer, one must note that Sitaare Zameen Par has a moderate production cost. Moreover, the movie hit the cinemas against all odds despite the genre being considered almost dead in the post-pandemic era. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more.

Sreeleela has been tapping her identity as the next pan-India star. She recently completed shooting for her Bollywood debut film opposite Kartik Aaryan and is now back for the Ustad Bhagat Singh schedule with Pawan Kalyan. Her recent appearance at the airport has now grabbed attention. Sreeleela's outfit claims 'do what makes you happy' The Kissik star was recently spotted at the airport, where she obliged the paparazzi with photographs. Sreeleela was dressed in a black co-ord set, and her sleeves featured a sassy message affirming 'do what makes you happy.' She kept her hair half-tied and looked chirpy. Her latest airport appearance comes after she was recently spotted enjoying a date night with Kartik Aaryan. Sreeleela's dating rumors with Kartik Aaryan Rumors about Sreeleela and Kartik 's alleged link-up were fueled after the duo paired up as leads in Anurag Basu's yet untitled and upcoming film. Interestingly, it was back on July 3 when the two of them were spotted enjoying dinner together at a restaurant in Mumbai. Fans were ecstatic about their appearance together and immediately began shipping them together as a couple. It is worth noting that none of them have ever accepted or denied any of the buzz. Has Sreeleela doubled up her fees? Coming to her work front, Sreeleela shot to pan-India fame after her electrifying dance number with Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2, titled Kissik. Amid this, a Siasat report further claimed that the starlet has reportedly increased her fees per film. She has apparently doubled her remuneration for the upcoming projects. While she earlier used to charge Rs. 3.5 to 4 crore per film, she has now demanded a pay cheque of about Rs. 7 crores for any of her following projects. These, too, are unconfirmed reports at the moment, and the actress, or even her team, has not reacted to the speculations yet.

Anurag Basu's 'Metro.. In dino' sells over 18K tickets ahead of its release

Metro… In Dino, the recent ensemble drama directed by Anurag Basu, will open in theatres throughout India today, July 4, 2025. Given that its prequel, Life in a Metro, is still regarded as a classic, the film, which stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee, is already eagerly awaited. A trade analyst estimates that it sold about 20,000 seats in advance. Released under fierce competition, the film is positioned as a spiritual sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 blockbuster. 'Metro… In Dino' competes with established films like F1, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Maa, all of which continue to attract large crowds, in addition to opening against Jurassic World: Rebirth. Metro... in Dino will need strong reviews and word-of-mouth to do well at the box office on its opening weekend because pre-sales have been quite low. It will also compete with the previously successful comedy-drama, Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, and the horror movie Maa, starring Kajol. Sumit Kadel, a trade analyst, estimates that Metro In Dino sold about 20,000 seats in advance. This indicates that it made a relatively meagre ₹50–60 lakh in pre-sales on its first day. "The audience's word-of-mouth will be crucial to the performance on Day 1 and the weekend," Kadel said. Based on information from leading exhibitors, Metro in Dino for the premiere day has sold tickets at top multiplex chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis. Considering the cast's background and the original movie's brand memory, industry experts consider the figure to be below expectations, even though the data indicate a decent start. dino: Expected estimation According to a Pinkvilla article, the movie was initially approved with a budget of Rs 65 crore, but lengthy re-shoots and delays caused the final production cost to rise to Rs 85 crore, plus an extra Rs 15 crore for advertising and promotions. This raises the total investment to about Rs 100 crore. The movie is anticipated to earn at least Rs 75 crore at the box office worldwide to recover the investment and prevent losses. Digital, satellite, and music rights are among the non-theatrical channels that have so far brought in an estimated Rs 70 crore. A global revenue of Rs 75 crore would guarantee a theatrical share of about Rs 30 crore, which is the breakeven point. Metro… In Dino: Insights Metro… In Dino marks an important return for director Anurag Basu, who is widely celebrated for his ensemble storytelling in films like Barfi! and Life in a... Metro. This is his first major theatrical release since 2020, making it a key test of his box office pull in the post-pandemic landscape. While Basu continues to enjoy a loyal following in metro cities and among multiplex-goers, the film will need steady audience turnout in the coming weeks to reaffirm his relevance on the big screen. According to trade insiders, for a movie of this size, the opening day ticket sales must have been at least twice as high as they are now. A trade analyst clarified, 'It's the sequel to a well-regarded title and carries a big ensemble. These numbers are modest, and they need walk-in audiences to pick up the slack'.
