Tech snag grounds Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight in Chd, 177 passengers stranded

Time of India22-06-2025
Chandigarh: A Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight was cancelled at Chandigarh Airport on Sunday morning after the detection of a technical snag, leaving 177 passengers stranded and raising fresh concerns about recurring technical issues with the airline.
Apart from this, 23 other Indigo fights, including a Dubai flight successfully operated from Chandigarh, said an official.
IndiGo Flight 6E 146, scheduled to depart at 7:10am from Chandigarh to Lucknow, was halted before taxiing when the pilot noticed a fault during the pre-flight check. Passengers were informed about the snag and safely deboarded as a precautionary measure. The airline confirmed that the aircraft did not proceed to the runway and take-off was aborted on time.
Despite the airline's efforts to pacify stranded travellers, several passengers took to 'X' to express frustration over the lack of timely information and disruption of their schedules.
In a statement responding to a passenger's query on 'X', IndiGo said, "The flight did not take off due to a technical issue identified before departure. The aircraft was scheduled to carry 177 customers. Refreshments were served and passengers were given the option of alternative flights or full refunds."

Meanwhile, officials at Chandigarh airport confirmed that the cause of Sunday's technical snag remained unclear. They added that engineering teams were working on identifying and fixing the problem, but repairs were underway till late evening.
The repeated technical issues have sparked concern among frequent flyers and aviation observers, prompting questions about aircraft maintenance standards and operational safety. Neither the airport authorities nor IndiGo have issued an official explanation on the nature of the fault in the Chandigarh-Lucknow flight.
This incident marks the fourth such case involving an IndiGo aircraft in the month of June.

Clorox sues Cognizant for $380mn over cyberattack

Bengaluru: US household goods manufacturer Clorox sued Cognizant for $380 million, alleging that the latter's service desk granted access to cybercriminals to Clorox's network by providing login credentials without properly verifying the requester's identity or following Clorox's authentication processes. "The resulting cyberattack was debilitating. It paralysed Clorox's corporate network and crippled business operations. And to make matters worse, when Clorox called on Cognizant to provide incident response and disaster recovery support services, Cognizant botched its response and compounded the damage it already caused," Clorox said in its complaint. The complaint alleged that the cyberattack caused Clorox approximately $380 million in damages, including over $49 million in remedial costs alone to fix the damage caused by Cognizant's entirely preventable errors, and hundreds of millions of dollars in business interruption losses because the cyberattack impeded Clorox's ability to ship orders and keep its products on the shelves of retailers. The complaint also said that Cognizant operated the service desk for Clorox and provided IT support for Clorox employees, including employee credential recovery when needed. The cybercriminal called the Cognizant service desk a second time, again masquerading as Clorox employee 1, it said. On Aug 11, 2023, the cybercriminal initially contacted the service desk to request a reset of employee 1's password for Okta, an identity management tool Clorox used to verify network access. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your Finger Shape Says a Lot About Your Personality, Read Now Tips and Tricks Undo The agent replied by asking the cybercriminal to connect to Clorox's virtual private network (VPN). The cybercriminal then claimed he could not access the VPN without a password. The complaint said without any additional questions or identity checks, the agent reset Clorox's password, directly violating Clorox's credential support protocols. When TOI reached out to Cognizant, its spokesperson said, "It is shocking that a corporation the size of Clorox had such an inept internal cybersecurity system to mitigate this attack. Clorox has tried to blame us for these failures, but the reality is that Clorox hired Cognizant for a narrow scope of help desk services which Cognizant reasonably performed. Cognizant did not manage cybersecurity for Clorox."

AP set to launch caravan parks in Araku, Bheemili

1 2 Vijayawada: Taking inspiration from the caravan tourism policies of various states across the country, the AP Tourism department is all set to incorporate the 'Caravan Parks' feature into the much-anticipated Caravan Tourism Policy. This policy will soon be unveiled by the state government to further boost the tourism industry in Andhra Pradesh. The tourism department is considering developing Caravan Parks proposed under the new Caravan Tourism Policy at Araku, Bheemili, and other tourist spots across the state. Initially, these caravan parks will be developed at five locations in the ASR district in the North Andhra region. "The new caravan tourism policy will usher in a new chapter in AP's tourism landscape, designed to provide a unique experience for tourists to explore unexplored tourist spots through caravans across the state," said a senior tourism official involved in preparing the AP Caravan Tourism Policy. "Caravan Parks are areas that will offer parking space along with accommodation facilities for tourists to stay inside their leisure vehicles 24/7. Besides, recreational spaces such as walking tracks, sit-out areas, badminton courts, and basic amenities like drinking water and electricity will be developed at these parks," the official added. The official stated, "The Caravan Parks will mainly require sewerage discharge connection facilities to dispose of wastewater generated in the caravan, along with freshwater inlet connection pipes to refill water inside the caravan vehicle." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dolly Parton, 79, Removes Her Makeup and Stuns Everyone The Noodle Box Undo Moreover, these caravan parks will be developed near picturesque locations within woods to offer breathtaking experiences to tourists. The tourism official told TOI that the draft caravan tourism policy, forwarded to the state government, is likely to receive approval in two to three weeks. The policy will be officially launched after the state cabinet clears it and a formal government order is issued. "The new AP Caravan Tourism Policy was prepared after studying the best practices from caravan tourism policies in nearly seven other states across the country," the tourism official informed. The tourism official added that the department will invite private caravan operators to develop caravan parks once the policy is unveiled. "If no caravan operator or private player shows interest in developing caravan parks, the tourism department will develop one or two parks at potential tourism sites, allowing private caravan operators to follow suit," the official concluded. Caravan Parks are areas that will offer parking space along with accommodation facilities for the tourists to stay inside their leisure vehicles 24/7
