Brittany Hockley reveals her wedding was 'fake' and the shocking moment her husband was 'denied entry' into Australia
But there is just one 'minor technical detail' about the spectacular 'song and dance' that Brittany, 37, revealed to listeners of KIIS FM's The Pick Up on Monday — the marriage is not legal.
'Britt, you just got married in Bali,' Brittany's long-time best friend and co-host Laura Byrne said.
'We obviously can talk about how amazing that is, but now that we're here, we're also going to talk about how it's not legally binding yet.'
'It's a big show really,' the bride admitted, joking that the wedding 'was fake'.
'It's a bit too complicated to be honest. My husband Ben is fully Swiss, but he lives in Italy. I'm Australian living in Australia and we got married in Bali. There were way too many technicalities going on to make it legal, so we are just going to legally do it back here in Australia.
'The paperwork gets signed shortly - but let's not focus on that.'
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral
The couple's wedding took place at Pandawa Cliff Estate which promises a 'dramatic and romantic clifftop setting overlooking the Indian Ocean' and stunning views of Bali's Bukit Peninsula.
The 37-year-old was ever the blushing bride on her big day, walking down the aisle in a strapless dress by Steven Khalil which featured a lace corset with dramatic long train.
Brittany and Ben gave followers a glimpse into the nuptials, sharing a duo of loved-up snaps from the big day to Instagram.
One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss.
The second showed the happy couple beaming as they held hands and hugged each other close.
'From the very first day, it was you,' Brittany captioned the images.
'Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist 4.6.2025,' she added, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis.
Brittany also revealed on Tuesday that the couple hit a second snag upon their return to Australia to start married life.
'What I will say is [Ben] almost didn't join us,' Brittany said.
'We got to the airport late last night and [the airport worker] was like, "visa, sir?"
'He was like, "What do you mean visa? I didn't have a visa to get to Australia". She's like, "You can't enter the country".'
Laura explained that Ben has visited Australia many times on a work visa, which was organised for him by his football club and did not realise he was on a visa.
'So, he's been coming back and forth and that visa expired,' she said.
Ben is prone to these kinds of adulting hiccups, the two women agreed, as Brittany called out her groom for winding up without a pair of pants to wear down the aisle, 20 minutes before the ceremony.
'Ben decided to wear his wedding suit the week before to someone else's wedding,' she sighed.
Sourcing a suit for the big day was the footballer's one task to complete for the elaborate wedding.
'Yes, my pants shrunk,' he confessed sheepishly on the podcast.
Brittany had instructed Ben to send his suit off for dry cleaning in Bali at least three days before the wedding.
He forgot to and then 'splashed money around' to get a last minute clean done, which left his suit pants like a pair of 'jeggings'.
'He couldn't get the zipper up,' Brittany said with a laugh.
'Which is not ideal when your legs are the size of my legs,' Ben added.
'But it was all fine. Nobody noticed. I'm not sure how you got this information because it was very secret with my groomsmen.
'But yes, there were some safety pins in my pants. But it's all fine. Nobody got stung. Nobody noticed except for you, Laura.'
The Life Uncut podcast announced Brittany's engagement to Ben, 33, last year.
Brittany, who formerly described herself as 'the perpetually single host', had been dating Ben long-distance for eight months when he popped the question.
The duo met in November 2022 on the celebrity dating app Raya.
At the time the goalkeeper's soccer team, the Glasgow-based Celtic FC, was playing in Australia against Sydney FC.

Skirting the issue: Designer dress goes missing from Bezos-Sánchez wedding
Lauren Sánchez packed 27 designer dresses for her wedding to the billionaire Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, in Venice last week, but left with only 26 after one went missing. The couple, who are now honeymooning in Taormina, Sicily, were wed during a star-studded three-day celebration in the lagoon city. They left Venice on Sunday, but mystery over the missing dress has generated chatter in Venice, with Corriere della Sera claiming that it was stolen, possibly by someone who evaded security and gatecrashed a party on the tiny island of San Giorgio, where the couple exchanged rings, on Friday. The newspaper said the number of gatecrashers to the event was such that officers from the local unit of Italy's anti-terrorism squad, Digos, were called to the island. The newspaper also alleged a vintage Dolce & Gabbana-designed dress, either worn by the bride or wedding guest Ivanka Trump, was torn and caught fire during another party. Sources familiar with the situation confirmed that a dress had gone missing but denied it was stolen. It is unclear where the dress disappeared and when. The couple lodged at the seven-star Aman hotel, where the bride's wedding outfits were reportedly kept under close watch. The sources stressed that no legal complaint about the missing dress had been made to police, with the expectation being that the garment would eventually 'turn up'. They also denied the report that a dress caught fire and that the celebrations had been infiltrated by gatecrashers. The nuptials, which are said to have cost between €40m and €48m (£34m-£41m), reportedly included everything from pyjama and foam parties to elegant dinners and a Great Gatsby-themed event. But on almost every canal, alleyway and square, there were protests against the wedding, with anti-Bezos campaigners arguing that the celebrations risked turning Venice into a playground for the rich, bringing nothing but strife for ordinary residents. The location of the main reception party on Saturday had to be changed at the last-minute because of threats by protesters to fill the canals with inflatable crocodiles in order to prevent the 200 or so wedding guests, who included Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom and Kim Kardashian, from arriving. The guests arrived in Venice on super-yachts and more than 90 private jets. As Friday night's party got into full swing, a green laser was used to spell out the slogan 'No Kings, No Bezos' on the bell tower in St Mark's Square. Another stunt involved activists floating a lifesize mannequin of Bezos along the Grand Canal, clinging to an Amazon box while holding fake dollars. The Venice mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, dismissed the protesters as 'shameful' and said the Bezos-Sánchez union would fill Venetian coffers. The couple have now moved on to Taormina. They reportedly arrived in Sicily on Bezos's super-yacht before being transported by helicopter to the hilltop town on the island's east coast, where they are staying in San Domenico Palace, the hotel made famous by the US TV show, The White Lotus. For now, there have been no reports of protests or items of clothing gone astray on the southern Italian island. Instead, some political leaders have embraced the couple. 'Jeff and Lauren, we welcome you with open arms,' said Matteo Francilia, mayor of Furci Siculo, a small town near Messina. 'Leave behind the beautiful lagoon with its absurd complaints! Here in Furci Siculo you'll find sun, sea and genuine people, who would welcome you with open arms.' It's not the first time Bezos's 127-metre super-yacht has sailed to Sicily. Last summer, the vessel toured the coastline near Taormina, and the Aeolian islands.

Lauren Sanchez dress ‘goes missing' during Bezos wedding
A vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress worn by Lauren Sanchez during her wedding celebrations in Venice has gone missing. Jeff Bezos's new wife had 27 outfit changes over the three-day extravaganza, but one of the most prized dresses is now nowhere to be found. The gown apparently disappeared when the Amazon founder and his fiancée were exchanging vows and rings on the tiny island of San Giorgia in the Venetian lagoon last Friday. Insiders with knowledge of the event confirmed that a dress was missing, and that they did not know what had happened to it. No report has been filed to the police. For such a lavish event, organised by the world's third richest person, there were a lot of outfits and items that could go missing from time to time, a source said. There is confidence that the garment will 'eventually turn up'. An Italian newspaper claimed on Thursday that the dress had been stolen by a gatecrasher, an 'elegantly-dressed' woman who managed to sneak into the nuptials on Friday despite not having an invitation. Corriere della Sera also claimed that a second dress, worn either by Ms Sanchez or Ivanka Trump, had somehow burst into flames during the wedding celebrations on the island. Both those claims were denied by insiders. The missing dress is one of 27 outfit changes that Ms Sanchez reportedly went through during the lavish three-day event last week. In addition to witnessing the exchange of vows on San Giorgio island, opposite St Mark's Square, guests were invited to a dinner inside a cloister attached to a historic church called La Madonna dell'Orto the night before and a pyjama party the next evening in the Arsenal, Venice's centuries-old shipbuilding yards. 'Locked down' Mr Bezos, who is worth $234 billion, is reportedly now on honeymoon with his new wife in Taormina in Sicily – the picturesque town where White Lotus was filmed. They are believed to be staying at the San Domenico Palace, one of the locations for the second season of the hit HBO show, which satirises the lives of the ultra-wealthy. Protesters in Venice decried the extravagance of the event, which reportedly cost $50 million, and accused Mr Bezos of using Venice as a playground for the super-rich. They had warned that the lagoon city would be 'militarised' and 'locked down' by the authorities because of the high profile of the wedding couple and their guests. However, in the end, little inconvenience was caused to most residents and tourists, who would have barely known about the wedding if they had not been watching the news. Venice's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, said he was pleased and relieved that the nuptials went well. 'We're happy that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez chose our city to celebrate such a special moment in their lives. It confirms once again the universal appeal of Venice. This is our strength – to know how to be global without losing our authenticity. More than 600 couples – some famous, many less so – choose Venice each year as a place in which to marry.' 'The city was not locked down' Darco Pellos, the chief of police for Venice, said the authorities had struck a balance between allowing protests to take place while ensuring that the wedding celebrations went ahead without disruption. 'Those who wanted to protest were able to do so, the guests were able to attend the events without being concerned, and the city was not locked down,' he said. 'Locals and tourists alike were able to experience the city as normal.' The arrival of Mr Bezos's 200 guests was no big deal given that Venice is accustomed to absorbing more than 100,000 visitors a day, he said. He said he was relieved that there had been no untoward incidents – 'not even the throwing of a tomato.'
