Bengaluru: Tired Of App-Hopping During Your Commute? Namma Transit Brings It All Together
It's currently available to a limited set of users but will be made public to all within a week, according to company updates.
In a move to ease Bengaluru's daily traffic chaos, ride-hailing app Namma Yatri has launched Namma Transit.
The update comes as the city's average travel time has shot up by 16 percent in the past year, with commuters now taking over an hour to cover just 19 kilometres, as per Hindustan Times.
What is Namma Transit?
Namma Transit is a new option inside the Namma Yatri app that helps users plan their trips by combining different travel modes—like the metro, auto-rickshaws, and cabs—all on one platform. Instead of switching between multiple apps or guessing the best route, users will get real-time step-by-step navigation tailored to Bengaluru's tricky traffic patterns.
Currently, this feature is available to a limited number of users, but a full rollout is expected within a week.
In Bengaluru, every commute has its rhythm. Catching the Metro, juggling between apps and hoping everything lines up. We have all been there. That's why we built Namma Transit, to make daily travel a little simpler, more affordable, and a lot less stressful. With Namma Transit,… pic.twitter.com/UQ2IRhpYh6

How Does It Work?
The feature provides detailed travel guidance—telling users which metro station to head to, which gate or platform to use, and when to change modes. It's built to make public transport not just easier, but smarter.
The idea, say co-founders Magizhan Selvan and Shan MS, is to make mobility feel like 'magic" instead of a chore.
Why It Matters
This initiative supports the city's wider push towards eco-friendly and efficient transport. By improving first- and last-mile connectivity, Namma Transit hopes to cut reliance on private vehicles and encourage more citizens to use public transport.

Air India cancelled its flight AI349, which was scheduled to operate from Singapore to Chennai on Sunday, due to a maintenance issue that was discovered before departure, requiring more time to fix, according to an airline statement. Making 'every possible effort to minimise the inconvenience" caused to the passengers due to this unforeseen disruption, it said. 'Flight AI349, scheduled to operate from Singapore to Chennai on 3 August, has been cancelled due to a maintenance task identified before departure, which required additional time for rectification. Our ground colleagues in Singapore are making every possible effort to minimise the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this unforeseen disruption," the Air India Spokesperson said in a statement on X. The arrangements were made to fly the passengers to Chennai at the earliest, it said. 'Hotel accommodation is being provided, and full refunds on cancellation or complimentary rescheduling are also being offered to passengers based on their preference. At Air India, the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain top priority," the statement later added. Air India Cancels Bhubaneswar-Delhi Flight Over 'High Cabin Heat'
Last Updated: This was Air India's second technical snag of the day, after it cancelled flight AI349 from Singapore to Chennai due to a pre-boarding maintenance issue Air India cancelled a Delhi-bound flight from Bhubaneswar on Sunday after a technical fault led to unusually high temperatures inside the aircraft cabin before take-off. The airline said the decision was taken to ensure passenger safety. The flight, AI500, was scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar at 12:35 pm and arrive in Delhi by 2:55 pm. According to flight tracking site Flightradar24, the service was to be operated by an Airbus A321 aircraft. However, the airline did not confirm the aircraft model or disclose how many passengers were affected. In a statement, Air India said, 'Flight AI500 scheduled to operate from Bhubaneswar to Delhi on August 3 has been cancelled due to a technical issue causing high cabin temperature on ground prior to the departure." The airline added that its team at Bhubaneswar airport was helping affected passengers with alternative travel options. This was the second technical snag reported by Air India on the same day. Earlier, the airline cancelled flight AI349 from Singapore to Chennai due to a maintenance issue identified before boarding. Adding to the airline's recent troubles, Air India is still facing scrutiny after a tragic crash in June involving a Boeing 787-8 aircraft headed to London Gatwick. The plane crashed shortly after take-off, killing 241 people on board and 19 on the ground. Concerns about flight safety in India appear to be growing. A recent survey by LocalCircles found that 76% of respondents felt airlines were spending more on advertising than safety. About 64% said they had experienced at least one difficult flight in the past three years. Land acquisition for mega steel plant to begin soon in Odishas Keonjhar: Majhi
Bhubaneswar/Keonjhar, Aug 3 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday said land acquisition for the proposed mega steel plant in Keonjhar district would begin soon because the company concerned has already deposited the required funds for the purpose. According to official sources, the mega steel project in the district will be set up in a joint venture between JSW Group and South Korean steel giant POSCO, with an initial production capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and an investment of over Rs 40,000 crore. The government has identified two land patches for the project, one near Taramakant and another at Patna. 'Keonjhar will get a mega steel plant, and preparation for this has already started. The process has moved two steps forward, and the company concerned has deposited necessary funds for the purpose," Majhi said after reviewing several development projects in the district. The chief minister said the establishment of the plant is expected to boost the mineral-rich district's economy and provide new employment opportunities for local youths. Majhi has taken it as a challenge to set up a mega steel mill in Keonjhar, as the district lacks large-scale industries, an official sai. The government has taken up several developmental projects, such as national highway expansion, and there is no dearth of funds for the development of Keonjhar, he said. After his arrival, Majhi chaired a district-level review meeting, met local MLAs and sought their cooperation for the district's development. He flagged off three new ambulances and a 'Maa Tarini's coconut collection vehicle', a unique initiative likely tied to the renowned Maa Tarini Temple in Ghatagaon, where coconuts are a popular offering.
