Mantra of the Cosmos: Sons of Beatles legends record new track
Sean Ono Lennon and James McCartney have collaborated with Zak Starkey, Ringo Starr 's son, on a new song called 'Rip-Off' as part of the supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos.
Zak Starkey, formerly of The Who, shared a sample of the song on Instagram, noting that Shaun Ryder and James McCartney also contributed vocals.
Mantra of the Cosmos, formed by Starkey in 2023, includes Shaun Ryder, Mark 'Bez' Berry, and Andy Bell.
This collaboration follows Lennon and McCartney's earlier release of ' Primrose Hill ' in April 2024, hinting at more collaborations to come.
Zak Starkey was recently left The Who. Pete Townshend has announced his replacement as Scott Devours.

Murals will 'transform North Shields into open-air gallery'
Murals are set to transform a town into an open-air gallery, an art festival's organisers large-scale artworks are being created on blank walls at locations around North Shields in North Tyneside, including its Fish Quay, over the will have the chance to watch the six street artists in action during July and August as part of the Elevation Mural say it will turn "everyday spaces into landmarks of creativity and connection". Adele Sandé says Sunderland is a talented, musical city
A music star has shared her pride in her hometown's Sandé - formerly known as Emeli - spoke out as she made her first performance under her birth name at The Fire Station in marked the start of the city's Year of Music, celebrating its new status as an official Music described the concert as a "homecoming" and said: "Sunderland genuinely is a very creative, talented musical city."
