1980s Rock Legends Celebrate 40-Year Anniversary of Iconic 'Cult Movie' Theme Song

When I say '80s movies, you probably think The Breakfast Club.
The film is a staple of pop culture, defining the coming of age genre, as well as a decade of '80s movies. It's maintained its relevance through 40 years of existence, through its iconic characters, moments, and one incredibly famous song.
Irish band Simple Minds released "Don't You (Forget About Me)" in 1985 to accompany the film it appears in, where it reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been an incredible smash hit, giving the band enough success for a lifetime. Recently, on their TikTok, Simple Minds celebrated some exciting news.
Forty years of the song, and it is still just as catchy as ever. Fans took to the comments to share their support and memories with this great song.
"Timeless classic. 🔥"
"Love this song, so glad I got to see you guys play live right here on the Gold Coast last year. 👏👏"
"I was 18, please, bring me beck. Still in love Jim Kerr."
Time hasn't weathered the legacy of this classic track, just like the film its attached to. We certainly won't be forgetting anytime soon.

Will Claressa Shields Vs. Laila Ali Ever Happen?

For years now, there has been a competitive rivalry between two of women's boxing greats in Claressa Shields and Laila Ali. Ali is a 2021 inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Her career boasts an undefeated record after 24 fights. Of those bouts, she has 21 knockouts. In Ali's day, she was nothing to snooze at. Hell, she was the furthest thing to snooze at. And up until recent years, no one would rival such greatness. What's in a name? When it comes to Shields, she has been making her way for years. With a professional record of 16-0, she's seeking to give her self-proclaimed nickname legitimacy as the 'Greatest Woman of All-Time' (G.W.O.A.T). For these two ladies, their relationship began as a mentor-mentee type deal. The two began as very complimentary of one another. However, a 2019 The Breakfast Club interview with Ali changed everything. She said, 'I don't think there's anyone there for me that would give me a good challenge.' Shields took exception to that notion, especially after her gold medal success in the most recent Olympics at the time. Since those comments, Shields has made it her point to not only win her fights but also become a box office attraction for women's boxing. She is as charming as she is strong in the ring. With that type of quality, she seeks to sell her fights in ways that women just haven't before. Most recently, Ali was asked once again whether or not she would take on Shields in a match. She responded, saying, 'Unless somebody has $15-$20 million, don't even call me about this.' A few days later, Shields seemingly called Ali's bluff, producing a video in which she presented a check for $15 million to pay Ali to sign on to fight her. The business of boxing Now, as a marketing ploy, I find this to be genius! The G.W.O.A.T is obviously promoting herself through this. But with athletes having the ego that they do, fans have to wonder, 'Will Ali take the bait?' At 47, Ali is 17 years Shields' senior. From an athletic standpoint, we're fine to assume that Ali won't be what she once was. However, there's always that possibility that for one night, she can be. That's the type of selling point you can have for such a generational fight such as this. If Shields can back up all of her smack talk, she will be known to be someone who was never writing checks her fists couldn't cash. As I enjoy saying, I see the vision. Do I think this fight will actually happen? I do. We've seen crazier things happen. So, if that $15 million is legit, you absolutely have to consider it from Ali's side. If this does go down, it's bound to be the biggest women's combat fight of all time. With that potential riding on it, I ask this: Why not?The post Will Claressa Shields Vs. Cardi B Sued Over Viral Vegas ‘Mic-Throwing' Incident, Bardi's Attorney Calls Assault Case An ‘Opportunity To Make Money'

It might be time for Cardi B to pull out her courtroom Bardi bob once again as she faces a lawsuit from a woman claiming she was struck in the viral microphone-throwing incident during a Las Vegas performance in 2023. Source: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis / Getty If you need to refresh your memory, the moment was all over the internet a few years back. Cardi rocked the stage at Drais' Beachclub nearly two years ago and she had the crowd going wild… a little too wild. She was hotter than the Vegas sun as she rapped the breakout hit, 'Bodak Yellow.' As BOSSIP previously reported, when the Am I The Drama? diva approached the crowd, a woman in the audience decided to cool her off with a cup of water. The anonymous woman wasn't the only one. Earlier in the show, the 'W.A.P.' rapper asked fans to help her beat the triple-digit heat by splashing her onstage. Cardi continued to perform, and several songs later, the anonymous woman decided to keep the cold water flowing. Once the drink hit Cardi's face, she hurled her microphone back into the crowd in a split-second reaction. The unnamed woman claims the microphone hit her and now she's suing for assault, battery, and negligence. She also claimed that the charity auction of the mic, which sold for $99,000, 'exacerbated [her] emotional distress,' TMZ reports. After the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigated the incident, they declined to charge the Grammy winner in August 2023. According to Complex, the police report didn't come from the drink thrower, but another woman accidentally hit when the airborne audio equipment ricocheted off the alleged drink thrower. Check out Cardi B's side of the story after the flip! In an interview on The Breakfast Club , Cardi explained the water, the mic, and why she singled out one fan. When Charlamagne asked if Cardi regretted taking aim at one of her fans, she said, 'It was really like a quick reaction.' During one part of the set, she welcomed some waterworks because 'the Vegas heat ain't no joke,' but those fans understood the assignment. 'It was hotter than a motherf**ker! So, there was a part of the show that I told people, 'Splash me!' But even then I told them, 'Be careful with the face because the face is beat, b***h!'' she explained. When the moment passed, Cardi expected the rest of the show to go as planned. However, she said the anonymous women tried to get in on the action 'four songs' or about '15 to 20 minutes' after she was over the splashing. She noted that the woman 'threw water and ice on my face!' At that point, Cardi said she just 'automatically reacted' and didn't 'even know that I was throwing it.' The 'Enough' star clarified that the ice shocked her, but the reaction came from the drink hitting her in the face. She asked how ten other people could splash only her body, but this one attendee got her directly in the face, against her wishes. When Cardi reviewed the video, she said it confirmed to her that the woman 'intended to throw that s**t in my face.' Welp, Cardi claimed it was a reflex in self-defense. And her attorney calls this latest lawsuit a money grab. 'The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney's Office closed this matter for insufficient evidence a long time ago, but apparently the opportunity to try to make money off of a celebrity was too much for some willing law firm to pass up,' attorney Drew Findling said. Bethenny Frankel shares 4 tips she swears by to stay fit and youthful at 54

This summer, Bethenny Frankel's abs went viral. At 54, the 'Real Housewife' turned-business mogul walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show, and her toned midriff galvanized the internet. Frankel told Business Insider she has been inundated with questions about her secrets for aging gracefully with a busy, travel-intensive schedule. "They want to know how I live, how I eat, how I pack, what I do," she said. Frankel said she doesn't follow a strict routine. She tries to walk regularly, manage stress proactively, and doesn't overthink her diet. Still, she understands the fear of getting older, and the desire to feel confident and healthy in your 50s. "I think people were moved by the Sports Illustrated Walk because they were saying, 'oh wait, I am not done. I have so much time. I could have a glow up in five years, in 10 years, in 20 years,'" Frankel said. If you are looking to give your lifestyle a tune-up, here are her top tips. Keep your fitness routine simple Frankel become a major player in business, turning her Skinnygirl brand into a multimillion dollar company and investing in various other companies — a golden touch known as the "Bethenny Effect." Still, she said she's not the type to follow a set schedule. "There is no typical day. A morning routine? I'm not that kind of person." One thing she will always fit in, though, is a walk. "I just try to get in steps, but certainly not every day." Walking is a great for longevity, since it keeps your heart strong and promotes good balance and stability, according to cardiologists and healthy aging doctors. While lifting weights is good for healthy aging too, the best exercise is one you'll do consistently, personal trainers say. If she's learned anything over the years, Frankel said, it's that you don't need to overcomplicate your workout routine to stay healthy as you age, 3 supplements she swears by Frankel said she takes a daily "pile of vitamins" and powders including: NAD+ — a trendy molecule being researched for energy and healthy aging in an IV and pill form. Collagen — a type of protein that supports healthy skin, hair, and joints. Irish sea moss — a nutrient-rich, edible seaweed that provides fiber, magnesium, and vitamins A and C. Carbs are good, actually Frankel has long been famous for her "supermodel snacks," low-calorie bites that combine protein sources like turkey slices with mustard and bagel seasoning. Despite loving cottage cheese — which is protein-packed — Frankel said the high-protein trend is over-rated. "People are fixated and obsessed with so much protein. I think protein is good, just like I think carbs are good, fiber is good," she said. Instead, she tries to get creative in reaching for flavors she's craving, while being mindful of portion sizes. Make time for yourself Frankel said one of the major reasons for her continued success in both health and business is a proactive approach to burnout. She has a packed schedule, and finding balance is what has allowed her to keep up with a steady stream of obligations. Frankel said she still has stressful days, but she's learned to set aside plenty of time after to recover. That means being diligent about really resting, taking a full day to do nothing — not a 15-minute interview, not a quick meeting, not anything work-related, no matter how small, so she can fully unwind. "I don't run the car into the ground," Frankel said, preparing to take a long, relaxing walk in the sunshine after wrapping up her interview with BI. "You need to have a discipline about saying no."
