Royal fans love the subtle way Prince William showed 'respect' to Kate Middleton at recent outing
Thanks to the Princess' role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, ever since 2016 it is custom for her to present the winners of the Ladies' and Mens' Singles with their trophy prize.
Making two appearances this year – one without her family on the 12th of July and one with on the 13th – the royal clan later shared happy photos of their outing on Instagram... which sparked eagle-eyed royal fans to comment on a perceived sweet but subtle gesture that Prince William appeared to make when supporting Catherine at the tournament.
Commenting on the Prince falling back and allowing Catherine, George and Charlotte to walk ahead and greet the Wimbledon crowds, one person remarked (amassing over 1,000 likes in response), "Love the way Prince William let his family walk ahead of him. Such a beautiful and subtle show of respect."
Another added, "I love that William knows that she's the show stopper here! 👑. That's respect and love and teaching his kiddos how to treat their Mum!"
However, while the gesture might seem super romantic and just plain make sense given that Catherine is a tennis patron, it could actually just be down to royal tradition. Yep, that family has a whole bunch of rules that the rest of us would never even think about when it comes to our own relatives.
Typically, because Prince William is next in line to the throne and the most senior royal of the Waleses, it's expected that his wife and children walk a pace or two ahead of him as a mark of respect.
When entering an event as a whole family, King Charles is expected to be the last person to enter, given he is the actual monarch, with both Prince William and Queen Camilla in front of him.
So there you have it – a mark of respect and a royal rule upheld. We love to see it.

BBC sack 'several' after workplace culture review following Gregg Wallace report
BBC director general Tim Davie has said he and the corporation's leadership team will not 'tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values' following the independent report into allegations of misconduct against MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace. The 58-year-old was speaking as the BBC unveiled its annual report, the day after the report into Wallace found a total of 45 out of the 83 allegations of misconduct made during his time on the show were substantiated, including one allegation of 'unwelcome physical contact'. Speaking about the independent report commissioned by MasterChef producer Banijay UK, Davie said: 'From our side, it's simple, we're not going to tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. 'The industry needs to change, and we want to lead in the front, myself and the BBC leadership team will not tolerate people who are behaving inappropriately. 'There is no place in or on the BBC for those who are not prepared to live by our values, whoever they are. BBC chief Tim Davie 'This is a time of transition for the industry, a reset, and the changes we are driving are overdue.' On Monday, Wallace's MasterChef co-host John Torode confirmed he had a standalone allegation of racist language upheld in the same report. He said had 'no recollection of the incident' and was 'shocked and saddened' by the allegation in an Instagram post. In November 2024, the show's production company, Banijay UK, announced Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated. The report concluded that the 'majority of the substantiated allegations against Mr Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour', adding that 'a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated'. During the release of the annual report, BBC chair Samir Shah revealed for the first time that several members of staff had been dismissed as a result of an independent review of workplace culture commissioned by the BBC. He said: 'This is the first time we're going to say this publicly, several people have been dismissed as a result (of the review). 'But that, alongside the way the executive responded to the Banijay report into MasterChef yesterday, and I want audiences to feel confident that we are addressing these challenges. 'Finally, at the same time as acknowledging and dealing with the things they've gone wrong, the BBC has delivered an outstanding range of content to licence.' Davie later turned his attention to the Gaza: How To Survive A Warzone documentary, after a review found it had breached the corporation's editorial guidelines on accuracy. The programme was removed from BBC iPlayer in February after it emerged that the child narrator, Abdullah, is the son of Ayman Alyazouri, who has worked as Hamas's deputy minister of agriculture. 'Despite this mistake, I do want to credit thousands of people across the BBC for delivering such brave impartial journalism despite immense challenges and very significant personal pressure. 'Personally, I remain utterly committed to delivering impartial coverage without fear or favour. It is needed now more than ever in this polarising world.' On Monday, Ofcom announced it would investigate the documentary under its broadcasting code, which states factual programmes 'must not materially mislead the audience'.

Heads up, Swifties! 'Taylor Watch' podcast returns after hiatus
What if we told you "Taylor Watch" − the Barstool Sports podcast centered around Taylor Swift − is back? On July 15, hosts Kelly Keegs and Gia Mariano returned to the airwaves following a month hiatus. "Oh, you thought you could kill us! Nice try, haters," Keegs boomed at the top of the two-hour YouTube video titled "Episode 152." "We have risen from the dead, we do it all the time," Mariano jumped in, quoting Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" lyric. The two hosts debuted a new logo in a "Folklore"-esque font surrounded by stars, a microphone and a clapboard. Whether a rebirth or a resurrection, Season 2 started with an explanation of what happened since the show was canceled on June 4. Last month, Keegs told USA TODAY that copyright issues ultimately prompted Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy to pull the plug. "If you have a business account, which 'Taylor Watch' does count as a business account, and we are using Taylor's music − technically, it could be said that we are using her music to promote our brand, which is not allowed." Keegs told podcast listeners. Portnoy texted Keegs and Mariano on July 7 renewing their contracts and saying they could bring back the podcast. "It was so out of the blue," Mariano said. "He made things right." "The past is the past and all we're thinking about is the future," Keegs said. Mariano explained the solution will be for "Taylor Watch" to stay away from copyrighted music and videos and steer toward posting reaction videos. The show will return to a twice-a-week format with new episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays to dish on Swift news, commentary and Easter egg theories.
