Dayton Police responded just before 3:30 a.m. to Bragg Place near W. Stewart Street on initial reports of a shooting, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch supervisor.
Video and photos show that officers have taped off the area.
Initial scanner traffic indicated that a gas line may have been hit.

State report: MARTA escalator had missing parts during mishap that hurt Beyoncé fans
A new state report shows that a MARTA escalator was missing several parts before multiple people were injured while leaving a Beyoncé concert. A report by the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner says that three drive belts were found missing from the escalator's top drive motor and another was missing from the bottom drive motor. However, the OCI report says it was unclear if the belts were missing at the time of the incident or if they came off due to the incident. Six others were treated on the scene for injuries, according to the OCI report. As it examined the bottom drive motor, OCI said a fourth belt was also found off the pulley, and two others had 'walked to the top side of the pulleys.' The report says the high passenger volume that night and the motor drive belts missing 'would have caused an over-normal operating speed condition, leading to the injuries' experienced by 13 people. According to the investigation, the MARTA escalator malfunctioned as 'several patrons rush[ed] toward' it while trying to avoid an insect, according to MARTA police. The sudden increase of people on the escalator made the equipment 'jerk, speed up, and eventually stop, causing multiple injuries' to those who were on the escalator at the time, the report says. The escalator remains shut down for repairs, which were approved to move forward. Another inspection of the escalator will happen before it is returned to service. Knucklehead wanted by police posts ‘hide-and-seek' taunt on social media, leading cops right to him
He's got nowhere to hide. A Texas bonehead who bragged on Facebook that arrest warrants were nothing but 'the adult version of hide-and-seek' couldn't hide from cops — who busted him on a warrant, reports said. Fritz Eugene Case, 54, was picked up on a warrant last week in a raid by the Groesbeck Police Department and the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, KWKT-TV News reported. Eugene Fritz Case, 54, taunted cops on Facebook, but ultimately lost the game when he was busted. McLennan County Jail The felony bust came less than a 10 days after Case took to Facebook to taunt police, saying in a wise-ass July 10 post that, 'Having warrants is basically the adult version of hide and seek.' Cops executed the warrant in the city of Mart, about 18 miles east of Waco, on July 19, the outlet said. Mart Police Chief Shane James told KWTK that more warrants were obtained based on evidence found during the raid on the South Smyth Street home. City of Mart Police Department Case was arrested on charges of fraud and theft and is being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $12,000 bond, online records show. Former deputy sentenced to 16 months in prison for 2022 beating of inmate in Camden County Jail
A former Camden County Sheriff's Office deputy sheriff and jail corporal has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for assaulting a pretrial detainee in 2022. Ryan Robert Biegel, now 27, of Kingsland, Georgia, pleaded guilty on Jan. 28 to using unreasonable force against the detainee, according to a news release from the Department of Justice. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< Action News Jax first told you in November 2022 about the release of a video showing the September 2022 beating of Jarrett Hobbs from Greensboro, North Carolina, in the Camden County Jail. The DOJ said the incident occurred on September 3, 2022, when Biegel and two other correctional officers entered the holding cell where Hobbs was detained. [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks] We also told you in November 2022 when Biegel, Mason Garrick, and Braxton Massey were charged with battery of an inmate and violating the oath of office. In May 2023, the three men were indicted by a grand jury in Camden County. The DOJ said Biegel admitted to punching Hobbs five times in the back of the head, acknowledging that it was not reasonable or necessary for a legitimate law enforcement purpose. Biegel further struck Hobbs in the head and body an additional twenty-two times with his fists and knees, the DOJ said.
