If you're going to make a rock biopic and you need to cast the frontman, you may as well get a singer to play a singer. Deadline reports that's exactly what's happened with the upcoming biopic of the glam rock band KISS.
Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame has been cast as KISS frontman Paul Stanley in the upcoming biopic about the band, "Shout It Out Loud". The film is directed by McG from a script by Darren Lemke.
McG is best remembered as the director of the 2003 sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and 2009's "Terminator Salvation".

"Shout It Out Loud" is scheduled to go into production either by the end of this year or early in 2026.

Paul Stanley of KISS performs during KISS: End of the Road World Tour at Madison Square Garden on December 01, 2023 in New York City.Deadline says that Jonas will be doing his own singing for the film, but that he'll be going through some training in order to more accurately sound like Stanley.
The site also reports that McG is getting close to finding a star who can play perhaps the most famous member of KISS, Gene Simmons.
While KISS is a four-man group, Stanley and Simmons have been the only consistent members over the years, with the rest of the lineup changing a number of times since the band's formation in the seventies.
First getting together in 1973, KISS is less known for its music and better remembered for its theatrics. Their performances were known for their pyrotechnics, fire breathing, blood spitting, levitating drum kits, and more.
The band members wear face paint and take on the roles of fantastic characters like Starchild (Stanley) and The Demon (Simmons).
In fact, along with their onstage personas, the band has appeared in comic books for decades in stories that portray them not only as a rock band but as saviors of the world.
The most recent comic was Dynamite Entertainment's "KISS: Phantom Obsession". They've also crossed over with numerous other properties such as "Vampirella" and "Army of Darkness".
Musically, the band is best known for power anthems like "Rock and Roll All Nite". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Jimmy Swaggart, a once-prominent televangelist whose passionate sermons were overshadowed by a series of sex scandals in the late 1980s and early 1990s, has died. He was 90. Swaggart passed away Tuesday morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he had lived and led Jimmy Swaggart Ministries for decades. The ministry announced his death on social media. No cause of death was immediately provided. The New York Times reported that Swaggart had been placed in intensive care at a hospital after suffering a heart attack. Who Was Jimmy Swaggart? Swaggart rose to prominence in the 1980s as an influential figure in American Pentecostalism. At his peak, his televised services reached millions in the United States and around the world. Born in Ferriday, Louisiana, in 1935, Swaggart was the first cousin of rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis. Ordained by the Assemblies of God in 1961, Swaggart launched a ministry that eventually exploded in scope thanks to radio and television broadcasts. Per ABC News, Swaggart's ministry earned over $142 million in 1986. He maintained a global media presence, with his broadcasts appearing on roughly 200 TV stations at their peak. On Tuesday, the operator of Swaggart's official Instagram page wrote: "He was not just a preacher- he was a worshiper, a warrior, and a witness to the grace and mercy of God. He was a man whose faith was steadfast and always entered whatever door the Lord opened." The post thanked the doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment. Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart preaching in Nicaragua in 1988. Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart preaching in Nicaragua in Swaggart Controversy Explained In 1988, reports surfaced that Swaggart had been involved with a prostitute in New Orleans. The BBC reported that Swaggart resigned from his position during a public confession in front of a congregation of over 7,000 people. "I have sinned against you," Swaggart said at the time. "I beg you to forgive me." The clip of his speech became a recognizable moment in American religious broadcasting. Sex worker Debra Murphree, who was photographed with Swaggart, said in a later interview that the preacher paid her to pose nude. His troubles didn't end there. In 1991, Swaggart was stopped by police in California for driving on the wrong side of the road with a prostitute. Rather than confessing to prostitution, he instead told his Baton Rouge congregation: "The Lord told me it's flat none of your business," per The New York Times. Despite these scandals, Swaggart never relinquished control of his ministry, although he did restructure operations under his family's leadership. Jimmy Swaggart's Funeral Service: What We Know Information on the preacher's funeral service was not immediately available. Details regarding the time, location, and whether any public services will be held have not been announced yet. Swaggart is survived by his wife, Frances, their son Donnie, and several grandchildren.

Jey Uso recently came to the aid of Sami Zayn and Penta. This suggests he may be entering a feud with the powerful duo of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. In 2013, Jey, as part of The Shield, acted as an enforcer for The Authority and was an antagonist to the Rhodes family. This culminated in an emotional match at the Battleground pay-per-view, where Cody and his brother Goldust defeated The Shield to win back their jobs. Weeks later on Raw, the Rhodes brothers defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns again to become the WWE Tag Team Champions. A decade later, their roles reversed. After Jey left The Bloodline, Cody was instrumental in bringing him to Raw for a fresh start in 2023. This new friendship led them to form a popular tag team, and they defeated The Judgment Day at Fastlane to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. They have remained close allies on Raw ever since. In fact, it was Rhodes who beat Jey in the King of the Ring semifinals to advance before winning the tournament. Pictures & DC Comics More news: Long-Awaited Sequel for 'The Batman' Gets Major Update and Title Fan-favorite Marvel actor and all-around beloved actor David Dastmalchian has landed the role of M. Bison, the usual villain for the "Street Fighter" video game series. Bison is the leader of a faction called the Shadaloo, and his entire being is dead set on world domination. Though that is the usual case for the character, there is no telling how the adaptation will portray him. The entire plot for the new "Street Fighter" adaptation is being kept under wraps. Initially, there were reports that Walton Goggins of "Fallout" fame was in talks for the role of Bison, but that appears no longer to be the case. Dastmalchian has made a name for himself, appearing in "Oppenheimer," "Ant-Man," and "The Suicide Squad." Dastmalchian recently starred in "Late Night With the Devil," which became an instant hit, and provided him with plenty of buzz. However, one of his most beloved characters is Polka-Dot Man, made famous by the James Gunn reboot of "The Suicide Squad." The new "Street Fighter" film will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, who famously "Bad Trip" and the fan-favorite "Twisted Metal" series. This isn't the first time that "Street Fighter" has been adapted, as the original adaptation was made in 1994 as a pure action film that featured Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile, Ming-Na Wen as Chun-Li, Raul Julia as Bison, and many more. Following its rival, "Mortal Kombat," the new "Street Fighter" adaptation is bringing in a new film that is said to follow the video games more closely. Time will tell if that is true, but the cast for the film is already starting to take major shape with some strong talent in key roles.
