And the world No 733 certainly made a name for himself with a performance against reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz that was even better than the scoreline 6-1 6-4 6-4 suggested.
Even the first set was much closer than it might seem, as the San Diego-based student showed again how much he had learned on the college circuit in the USA.
Alcaraz was not at his best, just as in his first-round victory against Fabio Fognini.
But qualifier Tarvet, 21, made life so difficult for the Spaniard right for so long, with his combination of speed, athleticism, skill and sheer guts.

It was not until the second set that the first chants of 'Let's go, Ollie, let's go' and 'Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, Oi, Oi, Oi' broke out on Centre Court.
Yet a player that most of the home fans would never have heard of until this week earned the love and respect of the British crowd
And the way he played suggested these will not be his only days in the sun.
From the beginning and for most of the match, Tarvet put Alcaraz under pressure.

He had three break points in the first and had multiple chances to take the Alcaraz serve in two more games in the first set. Yet he somehow lost it 6-1.

Alcaraz was erratic, flipping from the ridiculous to the sublime.
When the Spaniard produced the latter in the second game of the second set, Tarvet stared in disbelief.
But the Brit refocused and at last broke his opponent's serve.
The shock seemed to wake Alcaraz up and he hit back immediately. The pair traded games and some superb rallies, with Tarvet chasing down every ball and finding some winners of his own.

Until the No 2 seed made his move, winning the ninth game and then serving it out with an ace.
Still Tarvet would not lie down and he had the crowd on their feet again when he broke back to level the third set at 3-3.
Alcaraz was having none of it, though, once more regaining the advantage. 'No, no!' yelled Tarvet in the eighth game when he buried a makeable shot in the net.
The Brit kept Alcaraz honest, forcing the reigning champion to serve it out.

The match will have felt longer than two hours and 16 minutes to the Spaniard.
Whatever happens next, Tarvet has created memories for life.

Roger Federer has named who thinks will win Wimbledon 2025 as the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic fight it out. Spanish superstar Alcaraz, 22, arguably remains the biggest favourite, having clinched the men's singles trophy for the last two years in a row. Sinner, 23, is also among the main contenders with the world No.1 and top seed playing some of his best tennis at this year's Championships. Djokovic, 38, a 24-time Grand Slam winner, cannot be discounted either given his experience and history of success at the All England Club. Swiss tennis legend Federer is adamant that one of those three men will land the title – and has revealed his 'slight favourite' to come out on top. Federer took part in a Rolex event in London on Friday which featured a Q&A session with an audience. According to Women's Wear Daily, Federer was asked about who he thought would win the Wimbledon men's singles title and said that Alcaraz was 'slightly favoured' over Sinner and Djokovic. Meanwhile, in the women's singles, Federer believes either Aryna Sabalenka – the world No.1 – or defending champion Barbora Krejčíková will come out on top. Alcaraz booked his spot in the fourth round on Friday with a 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory over unseeded German opponent Jan-Lennard Struff. Sinner joined him in the last 16 on Saturday with a 6-1 6-3 6-1 win over Spanish world No.52 Pedro Martinez while Djokovic plays his third-round match against fellow Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic later today. Speaking after his win over Struff, Alcaraz fired a warning to his Wimbledon title rivals. Quizzed about winning 21 matches in a row and if he was playing the best tennis of his career, Alcaraz said: 'Yeah, I think so. 'It wasn't the best tennis the whole 21 matches that I've won. But I think I've kept myself really, really calm in the tough moments in those 21 matches that I won in a row. 'I think I've played really good tennis lately. I'm really high on confidence right now. I'm really happy. During those matches I've saved myself in some really difficult moments.' In 2021, Penny put her glamorous lifestyle to one side to take on duties as a special police constable. The former model has since been on the frontline for significant events such as, the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and the Coronation day of King Charles III. In a candid chat with The Times, Rod, 80, dished out his views on Penny's career transformation. He quipped: "I have noticed she's got more bossy since she's been a copper. The kids have noticed, we've all noticed. She seems to think she knows everything now." (Image: PA) Last year, Penny opened up about Rod and their two teenage sons' initial reaction to her police duties. "When I first told them the idea of joining, they thought I was absolutely mad," she told the same publication last year. "And also, being young lads, my sons didn't think it was cool. But now they're so proud, it's a complete turnaround." Penny believes their minds were swayed once they "heard the stories" of her policing experiences and saw the change in her demeanour. She shared: "To begin with they were like, 'Mum, you've become stricter. I don't like this'. "And even Rod would say, 'You've changed. You're more forceful, you're more this, you're more that'." Despite initial concerns, Penny said Rod has become a big supporter along the way. "He's seen the dedication I have with the force and what it gives me back, as well as what I can give them," she revealed on Loose Women. More recently, the former model issued an update about her career change-up. She explained: "I've been doing it for four years now so he's [Rod] kind of got used to it and he's met a lot of my colleagues and he respects the amount of training I've done. "I have [arrested people], two people, for drink driving and drug driving. Every accident you have to test for drink and drugs. It is an adrenaline rush, I wasn't arresting on live TV."
