Charlie Coleman joins Amazon MGM Studios as Head of International Marketing
He'll report to Sue Kroll, and work closely with distribution and the studio's Head of Film Marketing, Stephen Bruno. Amazon MGM Studios has appointed veteran executive Charlie Coleman as its new head of international theatrical marketing, signalling the studio's growing ambitions to become a global distribution powerhouse. The announcement was made in an internal note from Sue Kroll, Amazon MGM's head of global marketing for film and series, underlining the significance of the move as the company builds out its international infrastructure to support a rapidly growing film slate. Coleman, who officially begins his new role on August 18, will report directly to Kroll and will be based in London. He joins Amazon MGM from Warner Bros., where he played a pivotal role in launching several high-profile international marketing campaigns for blockbuster hits including Dune, Barbie, Elvis, The Batman and the upcoming Minecraft movie. His experience spans two major studios, having also held previous roles at Disney in both London and Los Angeles. As Amazon MGM seeks to establish a fully independent global distribution pipeline, allowing it to release films internationally without relying on third-party studios, Coleman will be instrumental in steering international marketing strategies. The expansion moves the studio closer to joining the ranks of Hollywood's top players, including Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros. Kroll praised Coleman's creativity, strategic vision and collaborative leadership style in her announcement.
