Jermaine Dupri honoring Quincy Jones at Essence Festival: See list of performers
"This is the Blackest festival that we have in America, and I feel like Quincy is the greatest Black producer of American Black music," Dupri previously told USA TODAY.
The So So Def founder's "Essence Flowers" tribute is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, at the Caesars Superdome and will feature R&B and hip hop powerhouses.

List of performers
Dupri's tribute will include performances from musical acts who sampled Quincy Jones' hit songs. For instance, MC Lyte's and Xscape's 90s hit record, "Keep On, Keepin' On", sampled Michael Jackson's "Liberian Girl," which was co-produced by Jones.
"That's what I'm going to do in my set; I'm going to make you realize that you might not even realize how much Quincy Jones you have listened to," he said.
How to get tickets to Essence Festival
Essence Festival of Culture will be held from July 4 to July 6 in New Orleans. Tickets for the concerts are available on Ticketmaster.
The three-day bundle is currently sold out, but single-day tickets are still available. For July 6, the night Jermaine Dupri is performing, tickets are as low as $82.
The panoramic performance will be an educational "tribute of all tributes," showing "the importance of Quincy and who he was to me and who I am as a producer standing across from him," Dupri said.

Former Boston Bruins tough guy Lyndon Byers has died at 61, the team announced on July 5. The Bruins said he died on July 4, though they didn't list a cause of death. "Lyndon was a fan favorite across his nine seasons in the Black & Gold thanks to his rugged, rough-and-tumble style," the team said in a statement. He had 28 goals, 71 points and 1,081 penalty minutes in 279 NHL games. After retiring, Byers spent about 25 years as a radio host for Boston's WAAF. He also appeared in four episodes of the television show "Rescue Me" and had small roles in "Shallow Hal," "Stuck on You" and a few other movies.

'Clone me': Could Ozzy Osbourne live on thanks to Liquid Death DNA deal?
Ozzy Osbourne's most recent hit had nothing to do with music – it involved iced tea and saliva. The rock legend, whose last performance takes place Saturday, July 5, recently teamed with Liquid Death on a special offering: Ozzy, who's a celebrity ambassador for the brand, drank 10 cans of Liquid Death Iced Tea and left some DNA on the cans. Liquid Death then put the Infinitely Recyclable Ozzy cans, each autographed and sealed in a lab quality container, up for sale on its website for $450 each, to be sold first-come, first serve, with the (perhaps) tongue-in-cheek sales pitch that someday "once technology and federal law permit, fans can use this DNA to try to clone Ozzy in the future and enjoy him for hundreds of years to come," the company said. "Clone me, you bastards," Osbourne said in a statement accompanying the June 17 announcement. Of course, they sold out quickly. "As always, Ozzy was really fun to work with on this," Andy Pearson, vice president of creative at Liquid Death, told USA TODAY in a statement. "Hopefully the 10 people who bought the cans will do the right thing with them and give us more Ozzys for generations to come." It's not the brand's first bizarre DNA collaboration. Back in 2021, the company got skateboard legend Tony Hawk to donate blood for the paint to be used on limited-edition skateboards. "So if you have my blood, that means you have my DNA," Hawk said at the time. In 2023, Liquid Death teamed up with Travis Barker, drummer for rock band Blink-182, on a Liquid Death Enema of The State Collectible Enema Kit.
