Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen discusses changes to Memorial Stadium end zones
Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen recently spoke to the Huskers Radio Network about the installation of red end zones at Memorial Stadium. On Wednesday, he posted pictures of the end zones on social media. Dannen shared his thoughts on the changes while speaking to the Huskers Radio Network.
"The field looks good. Everyone has been thrilled with it. There are a lot of field design experts on my Twitter telling me what it should or shouldn't be. Getting those red end zones, for every one person that tells me they like it, the next person tells me they don't. We've all been after getting a little more red inside the facility."
Dannen was able to showcase several aerial shots of the improved field. Since becoming the athletic director at Nebraska, Dannen has been vocal in his belief that the university underutilizes the color red.
"We underutilized red a lot and I don't understand it. We don't light the stadium up from the outside and we should light it red every night. Red is an intimidating color and we should use it a lot more than we use it. I've told the Governor that the road signs, exits off of I-80 should be in red. Not in green. Not in blue, but in red. Little things like that and how we brand ourselves. Having those red end zones and I think it's a strong color. When we put the black letters in the end zone, I think it's a strong look."
Nebraska will open Memorial Stadium in 2025 on Sept. 6 when the Cornhuskers host Akron in Lincoln.

6 Micah Parsons landing spots with Cowboys trade rumors swirling

BREAKING: The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources… The Micah Parsons saga with the Dallas Cowboys took quite a turn on Friday. With the superstar pass-rusher looking for a new, huge contract and having heard some odd jabs from Jerry Jones before training camp, things have seemed OK for the time being. But then? The Athletic's Dianna Russini posted this on X (formerly Twitter): "The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources familiar with the situation." WELP. So this isn't a full on trade request, but perhaps a shot across the bow to warn the franchise to get busy getting him paid. But if he does ask for a trade? Here are five possible destinations: Buffalo Bills The Bills couldn't be more all in on winning a Super Bowl. And despite the fact that Joey Bosa has joined the team, they could absolutely use another pass-rusher from the linebacker corps. Los Angeles Chargers Khalil Mack is still around but getting long in the tooth. Tuli Tuipulotu and his eight sacks last year could use the help. This feels like a no-brainer for Jim Harbaugh's squad. Seattle Seahawks Leonard Williams isn't getting any younger. Same goes for DeMarcus Lawrence. Maybe the Seahawks think about giving up a ton to lock up Parsons, which might fit their timeline. Washington Commanders Look: I doubt Jones wants to trade Parsons within the division and see him wreak havoc twice a year. But the Commanders could REALLY use a pass-rusher as they try to contend. Chicago Bears The offense? That's totally fine under Ben Johnson. But the pass rush has Montez Sweat and not a ton otherwise. The Bears could absolutely use the help from a guy like Parsons Detroit Lions The Super Bowl window is open in Motor City. Aidan Hutchinson is coming back from that horrible injury, so why not add another body to rush the QB?
