Pot Luck Club's Prix Fixe is a winter treat without the wallet freeze
With two options to choose from, either the Prix Fixe Lite (six plates) or the Prix Fixe Loaded (eight plates), it serves up beautifully bold small plates designed to be shared- or not, we're not judging. The flavour intensity and flair are also exactly what you'd expect from a Luke Dale Roberts kitchen.
Pot Luck Club's winter prix fixe lineup makes room for all the firm favourites - from those plump fish sliders that come with that miso mayo–mojo dressing combo through to the rich, fall-apart situation of the pork Penang belly. And don't sleep on the chickpea, goat's cheese, and parmesan fries, basically a cheesy, crunchy miracle with truffle aioli on the side. But the real headline? That Café au Lait sauce that haunts our food dreams. Honestly, it's the whole deal, whether over mushrooms or a beef fillet.
Cape Town's lunch-only Lite' version is R550pp; the 'Loaded' experience - eight decadent plates of culinary magic—is R795pp.
This is bite-sized luxury worth braving the cold for. Savour it with someone who deserves a proper treat, like dad, this coming Father's Day.
📍The Pot Luck Club
📅 Prix fixe menus available from until 30 Sept 2025
📲 Booking essential: The Pot Luck Club
And if you're in the mood to go full maximalist? Their Sunday Brunch is also back with ten courses, bottomless bubbly, and a DIY Bloody Mary bar. It's adding more bang to Cape Town's brunch scene in a deliciously, unhinged way (@ R1250pp, brunch never looked so boujee).

EastEnders fans react to 'missed opportunity' as Oscar Branning debuts
EastEnders fans have all said the same thing after newcomer Pierre Moullier made his debut as Oscar Branning and praised the young star for his comedic timing EastEnders fans all said the same thing after newcomer Pierre Moullier made his debut as Oscar Branning. The 24-year-old actor is the latest star to take on the role of the Walford resident, and fans of the BBC soap opera were quick to flood social media with their opinion on him following an early iPlayer release. The character, who is the son of returning soap legend Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) has not been seen on the London-based serial since 2017, and at that time, he was played by Charlee Hall. At the time, he had come to visit his dad for Father's Day but upon his introduction, Oscar revealed that he had been spending time in a youth detention centre. Opening up to sister Lauren ( Jacqueline Jossa), he revealed that their mother had kicked him out after he robbed a car with a man that was nicknamed Fat Mike. Oscar explained that he had given Mike's name to the police in a bid to reduce his own sentence, but it backfired when Mike found out. Knowing Mike was out for revenge, Oscar quickly switched the numbers round on his house and his neighbour's, and next door's property was petrol-bombed. But despite the dramatic circumstances surrounding Oscar's return, viewers were quick to praise the new actor for his comedic delivery. One viewer wrote on X: "Bloody love a fun, chaotic entrance episode and Oscar Branning ticked all the right boxes. Pierre Moullier was giving Jake Wood meets Rob Kazinsky - so much great energy." Another said: "The casting for the new Oscar Branning has been brilliant if Eastenders is going in a more comedic direction with the new exec producer am all for it because it's actually funny #EastEnders." One viewer claimed that there was a "missed opportunity" because scriptwriters could have made a joke about the infamous moment Tanya Branning accidentally called Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) by his real name during a live special in 2010. They joked: "Absolutely loving the new Oscar Branning, but @bbceastenders you missed a great opportunity for him to say Adam instead of Brian! - just like his mum did!" But one user was quick to condemn any fan who would compare Oscar to the departing Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and joked that they would be "allergic to fun" if that was the case. They wrote: "Oscar Branning is gonna be jokes I can't wait for this dude to arrive, people who don't like the look of him or call him the next freddie slater are allergic to fun." Pierre's casting was announced just under a month ago, and at the time, the actor - who has appeared in various theatre productions before - noted just how "surreal" it was to be joining the cast. He said: "It's pretty surreal to join EastEnders - it keeps hitting me that I'm actually on Albert Square. When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting as they are such an iconic family, and I love that there are so many skeletons in the closet. Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he's a complex guy!"

Prince George's old-school nickname for Prince William at Wimbledon spotted by lip reader
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A lip reader has revealed that Prince George affectionately referred to his father, Prince William, as 'Papa' during their visit to Wimbledon today (July 13). The father and son were spotted in the Centre Court's royal box, where they watched Carlos Alcaraz play against Jannik Sinner. During the match, the young prince reportedly asked William: "Papa... is that where the players walk out down there?" William, 43, confirmed his son's query with a simple: "Yeah, it is yeah." It's not the first time the children have used the endearing term 'Papa'; for Father's Day in 2024, a social media post featuring William hugging his kids was captioned: "We love you, Papa. Happy Father's Day. G, C and L." (Image: Karwai Tang, WireImagevia Getty Images) Additionally, the lip reader decoded an earlier interaction between George, his sister Princess Charlotte, and Wimbledon men's doubles champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, also 43, enquired about the pair's playing history before informing her children: "Wow, how about that? So, they only just started playing together ten months ago. "And go on to win Wimbledon." Charlotte expressed her amazement with an excited "Oh, wow." George gave a more relaxed response, "Mmm nice, yeah." Their mother then added: "Not bad is it." (Image: Getty Images) Charlotte is an avid tennis enthusiast, and royal commentator Ingrid Seward has previously shared with The Sun: "Charlotte has always loved tennis, and mum Kate took her to Hurlingham when she was quite young to play tennis there. "Tennis is a big family thing on both sides." Princess Kate, who holds the role of patron for the All England Lawn Tennis Club, was present at Wimbledon yesterday, witnessing the women's singles final clash between Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova. The mother-of-three, currently in remission from cancer, was honoured with a standing ovation, and lip-reading expert Jeremy interpreted her response as: "Sweet, very nice to hear!"

David and Romeo Beckham look troubled as family rift reaches new level
While Sir David Beckham is yet to comment publicly on the rumoured rift in his family, his facial expressions said a thousand words in his latest public appearance. The England football legend, who was recently awarded a knighthood, has been a hot topic of gossip for months due to an alleged feud with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Eyebrows were raised when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, failed to attend Sir David's 50th birthday bash, and ever since, there's been plenty of speculation about the nature of their relationship. This has also included Brooklyn's siblings, as while he was happy to pay tribute to sister Harper on her 14th birthday this week, it was claimed that he and Nicola had unfollowed both Romeo and Cruz. The whole thing is very messy, so you'd be forgiven for not being able to keep up, but it seems recent events could've been weighing on Sir David's mind as he attended a game on Saturday night. Joined by Romeo, the father-son duo looked deep in thought while watching Sir David's Inter Miami play against Nashville SC at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Photos captured Sir David and Romeo, 22, with stern expressions and furrowed brows, mimicking one another with their arms behind their backs while the action on the pitch intensified. Sitting in their seats later on, Sir David tucked into a snack, unable to take his eyes off the match. The Inter Miami president and co-owner looked typically dapper in a navy suit and tie combo, while Romeo somewhat resembled his famous father in his younger days with a bleached buzzcut and tattoos on full display. He also opted for more casual attire of a baggy Snoop Dogg T-shirt and green camouflage cargos, paired with a flashy Rolex watch. Sir David and Romeo's night out comes after reports that Brooklyn and Nicola had not only removed his brothers from their Instagram 'following' lists, but blocked them completely. However, sources close to the former photographer later claimed that he had done no such thing. 'Brooklyn had no idea until he read about it online,' said the insider. 'It's possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers.' They added to The Sun: 'He and Nicola certainly didn't unfollow them or block them—they're as confused as anyone else. 'The first they heard about it was when it was being reported on.' Although Brooklyn's denial didn't seem to defuse any problems, as Romeo appeared to make another subtle dig on Insta on Friday night, just hours later. The model posted a screenshot of Justin Bieber's new song, Walking Away, adding the comment 'Yup' to suggest the lyrics hit close to home. In recent weeks, budding chef Brooklyn has made no secret of his attempts to create distance between himself and his parents. From snubbing Sir David's knighthood to failing to wish him a happy Father's Day, there have been several major milestones he's been silent on. In contrast, he was keen to wish Nicola's billionaire tycoon father, Nelson Peltz, a happy birthday last month, and has shared several lovey-dovey messages for Nicola, whom he married in 2022. One of those was a video of the lovebirds riding a motorbike. In his caption, Brooklyn vowed to 'always choose' his actress wife, proving where his loyalties lie. But while Brooklyn continues to face the wrath of social media for 'disrespecting' his mum and dad, sources have claimed the drama is having a big impact on him too. More Trending Speaking to Metro recently, one said: 'Brooklyn hasn't felt the same about his family for months. 'It's hard to see any improvement on the relationship between either side, even though Victoria and David are desperate for things to get better.' The insider claimed that Brooklyn's bday tribute for sister Harper may be somewhat of an 'olive branch,' although it remains to be seen if relations can heal going forward. 'When big family milestones approach, he often feels quite isolated over in Los Angeles, but he's keen to show that he loves his family deeply.' Got a story?
