Job Opportunity Abroad: Salary Rs 1.61 Lakh, 5,000 Vacancies
Bihar offers 5,000 caregiver jobs in Israel for women aged 25-45, requiring a Class 10 pass and English proficiency. Apply by August 7 at Jamui's District Employment Office
Educated job seekers in Bihar now have a rare opportunity to work abroad, with the state government opening up 5,000 job vacancies in Israel for the role of home-based caregivers. The Labour Resources Department has issued an official call for applications, with most of the positions earmarked for women.
According to a public notification from the District Employment Office in Jamui, these overseas roles are being facilitated under an agreement with Israel, offering monthly salaries equivalent to Rs 1.61 lakh (USD 1,870 or 6,247.67 Israeli New Shekel). The contractual jobs span an initial two-year period, with an option for extension based on performance and further requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be between 25 and 45 years old, weigh at least 45 kg, and have a minimum height of 1.5 metres. A Class 10 pass certificate is the minimum educational requirement, along with proven proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. A valid passport is also mandatory.
While 90 percent of the posts will be reserved for women, the remaining 10 percent are open to men. Preference will be given to female candidates with prior training in General Duty Assistant (GDA), Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM), General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), Diploma in Senior Care (DSC Nursing), or Post-BSc Nursing. Importantly, women who have never worked or traveled to Israel before will be given priority.
Applicants must also be mentally and physically fit. A certificate from an authorised government agency attesting to eligibility is required, along with proof of completion of a care course involving at least 990 hours of training, including on-the-job training (OJT). Only courses and institutions recognised by the Centre will be considered valid.
Application Deadline
Selected candidates will be required to work six days a week. The recruitment process is being coordinated by the District Employment Office in Jamui, where interested candidates must submit applications before August 7. Required documents include photocopies of educational and training certificates, a valid passport, passport-sized photographs, and residence and caste certificates.

Delhi plans to launch over 100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
New Delhi: The Delhi government has plans to establish over 100 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (UAAMs) between August and September 2025, officials said on Monday. According to officials, a total of 108 sites have been identified as feasible for setting up these clinics across various civic agencies. 'Of these, 53 sites fall under the Public Works Department (PWD), 38 under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), eight under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and nine are located on properties managed by the Directorate of Education (DoE),' a government document said. Several existing Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics (AAMCs) will be repurposed into UAAMs, and renovation work, including painting, plastering, waterproofing, tile work and installation of false ceilings, is underway by PWD. 'Tenders have already been floated for repair and maintenance works. Besides upgrading current facilities, new clinics will also be constructed to meet the expansion targets,' government officials said However, in some places, the project is facing delays due to pending No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from various agencies. As per the government document, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved only 11 out of 109 proposed sites, while all 39 sites proposed under the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) are still under review. Additional approvals from MCD are also awaited for more than 400 sites identified earlier this year. The expansion aligns with a health agreement signed in April 2025 between the Delhi Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, enabling the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that Rs 1,749 crore has been allocated for the establishment of 1,139 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.(PTI)

100 new PHCs to be built with `194 cr: Satya Kumar
Tirupati: Health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav said the state government sanctioned Rs 194 crore for the construction of 100 new primary health centres (PHCs), to be taken up under the supervision of the roads and buildings (R&B) department. Along with government whip and GD Nellore MLA V M Thomas, the minister inaugurated a new village health clinic (VHC) building at Edigapalli, built at a cost of Rs 20.80 lakh under Alathur gram panchayat. Speaking on the occasion, the minister highlighted that the concept of village health clinics (VHCs) was launched in 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deliver doorstep healthcare services. With support from the central government, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan are currently implementing the programme successfully across the state. Each VHC is staffed with Community Health Officers (CHOs), ANMs, and ASHA workers, who conduct door-to-door health checks, referring patients to higher centres when needed. These clinics offer 14 types of diagnostic tests and provide 105 varieties of essential medicines. The minister also highlighted the NCD 3.0 survey aimed at early detection of hypertension, diabetes, cardiac issues, and cancer in people above 18 years. Under the STEMI initiative, emergency cardiac patients receive a life-saving injection worth Rs 45,000 free of cost. So far, over 3,918 lives have been saved from among 3,200 emergency heart cases. He criticised the previous government for misallocating funds meant for 10,032 approved VHCs and establishing only 3,000 clinics. Officials including DM&HO Dr D T Sudha Rani and CHOs Reshmi, Rajeswari, and Gouri were present.

Public health to prevail over revenue: CM
Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that public health will prevail over revenue under the new bar policy for Andhra Pradesh taking effect on September 1. During a review with officials from the Excise Department, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of public health vis-à-vis income generation. He stated that while most states focused on revenue from liquor policies, public health was his government's priority. Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that providing liquor with lower alcohol content could significantly protect the health of consumers. "We must not just think of revenue when it comes to liquor policy. The primary focus should be the health of our citizens," he said. The Chief Minister expressed his view that millions of families had suffered under the previous government due to the sale of 'poor-quality liquor'. He emphasised the need to protect the poor from financial woes and impaired health caused by consumption of inferior liquor. The review, attended by Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Kondapalli Srinivas, was held as the current bar policy is set to expire. Officials presented proposals for the new policy, which is based on a report submitted by a sub-committee of the cabinet. The new policy will allow for bar licences to be issued by draw of lots. The state currently has 840 bars. The cabinet sub-committee has suggested an annual licence fee structure based on population: population below 50,000, Rs 35 lakh; population up to 5 lakh, Rs 55 lakh; and population above 5 lakh, Rs75 lakh.
