Murderbot – Season 1 Episode 9 Recap & Review
Episode 9 of Murderbot starts with our titular character noticing the difference in humanity, and how some keep their feelings bottled up but others are much more open about how they feel.
Murderbot lies to the group about their chances to survive (hint: it's much less than 'medium to low') but Gurathin soon calls him out for it.
The group touch down near a forest area, where their plan is for Pin-lee and Gurathin to get a drone up in the air. Then, Gurathin can use it as a transponder and hack into GrayCris' HubSystem remotely. That way they can launch their beacon and call for help.
However, they need to get GrayCris to give up their access codes… which is where Murderbot comes in. It shows up to see the group, who try to install a new override module inside it remotely. It doesn't work, obviously, as Murderbot speaks the truth about how its governor module has already been hacked.
Murderbot claims it's going to betray the Preservation Society and work with GrayCris to hand them over. At least, that's what these guys think anyway. Murderbot manages to do a pretty good job of convincing the group this is the case, while also hiding its true purpose.
In reality, it intends to kill the entire GrayCris group by duping them into the beacon launchpad area, where they'll end up immolated when it launches. However, Murderbot is forced to go with them.
Mensah believes there's a better plan here, which is maybe just as well given Murderbot stalls for time. It decides to engage in small talk and then launches itself off the landing spot… but nothing happens.
This is Preservation Society's doing, who are late following through with the missile. Mensah flies over herself and touches down, speaking to the leader of GrayCris. Unfortunately her bargain goes nowhere, and they all wind up in a firefight.
Eventually Murderbot comes out on top and throws itself off the edge of the ravine, just as the beacon is launched and spews fire across the area. As they fall, Murderbot sacrifices itself to save Mensah, throwing itself off the ravine and landing hard on the ground.
The Episode Review
Murderbot has come a long way since the early episodes of it only caring about itself, and now we can see that it really does care about the Preservation Society. It's pretty amusing seeing the Bot slowly gain humanity over time and as it does, make more mistakes. It speaks a lot about how clumsy humans can be and this comes across really well in the series.
The ongoing jokes about Sanctuary Moon are another nice inclusion here, and the show does a good job of blending that in with the story and evolving it over time. Overloading the SecUnit by uploading Sanctuary Moon episodes is a hilariously effective and funny way of dealing with these enemies too.
However, it would appear that Murderbot may be too far gone to come back from these injuries, so we'll have to wait and see where this one goes next week.

My Lovely Journey – K-drama Episode 2 Recap & Review
The First Step Episode 2 of My Lovely Journey begins with O Sang-sik heading home and crossing paths with aspiring director (and last episode's editor in-suite) Lee Yeon-seok. Unfortunately, he's been let go after outing Song's behaviour, but he's working on a film script on the side. Sang-sik is intrigued and wants to see the script, but they're interrupted by Yeo Reum showing up. These are scenes we missed last episode, contextualizing what made her choose to leave in the first place. She shows up at the café, speaks to Sang-sik, and asks to leave with the camera and Manager Hwang for styling and make-up. While Sang-sik inflicts his tough love outside, Yeon-seok watches all of this transpire from inside. He likens them to a father/daughter dynamic, and can see the pain with both of them after this argument. In the past, Yeo Reum was a bright girl and always aspired to do more. When she promised her father she'd get a boat to Seoul and do more with her life, he told her never to come home until she's a success. Yeo Reum left Hwado and immediately found life punching her in the mouth. Teary-eyed, she phones phone at a booth, pleading with her dad to let her return but he refused, telling her to stick it out. This gives more weight to Sang-sik's words too, as she eventually finds herself facing that same crossroads again here, needing to stick it out and try to find her way. Inside the envelope she's given a ticket to Makpo but at the station, she winds up talking to a woman who recognizes the beads on her bracelet. They get talking about Buyeo and Yeo Reum eventually decides to go there. The sweet old lady explains that she needs to go to Daejeon first then transfer to a bus heading over to Buyeo. Alternatively, she can get a bus leading right there but it does take a while. She chooses the latter, and starts to get into the rhythm of her first trip. At the bus station, Janghang, the place is lashing it down with rain so she takes refuge in the nearby convenience store. We cut across to Sang-sik inthe middle of this though, who's shocked and panicked when he finds out Yeo Reum hasn't gone home. Yeo Reum's phone has run out of charge, and inside the shop, asks the cashier to charge her phone. However, the guy recognizes her and snaps her photo, uploading it online. She's also quite clumsy and spills her noodles on the floor, bringing more attention to herself. When the cashier asks whether she's a former idol, Yeo Reum gets spooked and hurries out the room. She winds up in a restaurant where the owner cooks her a delicious meal. However, its here where she realizes she's left her phone behind in the shop. Yeon-seok rings the shop and worries the cashier, warning not to take the phone or steal it as he has location tracking and can see precisely what he's doing. However, as fate would have it, his grandma actually owns the restaurant that Yeo Reum is in! What are the odds! When the grandma notices her prayer bead bracelet, she mentions how the knots are tied in a familiar way over at Muryangsa Temple. She encourages Yeo Reum to go take a look, but on her way out, her grandson cheekily manages to get her number too. Yeo Reum gets into the swing of things here, taking photos and videos for Kate as she walks through the Muryangsa trail. Although its only been one day, she's already starting to feel more confident in herself and liberated with this newfound freedom. However, things take an awkward turn when she notices Kate show up, speaking Korean, and telling her she can't take photos. It's all very weird, especially as she tries to chase after her and she disappears. Yeo Reum ends her trip, where Sang-sik is there to greet her. He reprimands her, scolding Yeo Reum for not listening to him. He explains that she needs to keep fighting but also to understand when a door closes, another opens and she can switch up and try something else. As long as she doesn't throw the towel in, she can keep finding her purpose. The Episode Review So My Lovely Journey closes out its debut weekend with a decent couple of episodes. There's nothing particularly outstanding about this drama just yet, but there's enough in this to stick with for the time being. The premise is very much centering around Yeo Reum's healing journey, and even seeing her start to enjoy the nature and become more in tune with her own surroundings and feelings is a nice way of capturing what a solo trip can do for you. However, beyond that there's not too much to cling to right now. This is a super chill and quite low-stakes drama, all things considered. We still don't have much more context around Eun-chae, and we don't know why Kate has decided that Yeo Reum should head out on this trip either. With only 10 episodes to play with, lets hope we get some answers in the episodes ahead. Previous Episode Next Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter oozes beauty in red bikini on beach 7 months after giving birth
Hollyoaks actress and mum-of-two Jorgie Porter, 37, only gave birth eight months ago, but already looks flawless as she enjoys some downtime on the beach in sunny Marbella, Spain Actress Jorgie Porter looks absolutely incredible as she suns herself in Marbella wearing a tiny red bikini, less than eight months after giving birth to her second child. The former Hollyoaks actress, 37, is mum to two young children. Her first-born is son Forest, who she welcomed in November 2022. Then, on December 10, 2024, she and her fiancé, Ollie Piotrowski, had their second child together; a baby girl named Peony. The couple also co-parent Ollie's 10-year-old son, Alfie. In stunning new photos of Jorgie on holiday in Marbella, the soap star oozed beauty as she frolicked on the beach. On one photo she can be seen wearing a pair of oversized shades as she stood in the surf. It comes after Channel 4 breaks silence after Gogglebox couple suddenly dumped from show. Another sees her elegantly kneeling on the sand while she soaks up the sun, sunglasses in hand. Other snaps show her taming her long, blonde locks with her hand after taking a dip in the sea. Jorgie's washboard abs and toned legs had a light tan from her sunny holiday, while the mum-of-two enjoyed some downtime ahead of her soap comeback. The actress will reprise her character Theresa McQueen in October, for spin-off show Hollyoaks Later. Jorgie has previously spoken about her post-baby body, putting her weight management down to one simple trick. After she had her first baby, the actress shared the secret to her postpartum weight loss. She told the Sun: "This is literally due to breastfeeding and Forest is 18kg now. I'm carrying this little thing around constantly has helped. "I'm also just always running around doing things - I'm happy with my body but it goes up and down all the time." Jorgie announced the birth of her second baby in December, thanking medical staff for taking care of her and her family. Shortly after her daughter's birth, she revealed in an exclusive chat with the Mirror how she was finding being a mum of two. 'It's hard. Nobody tells you that it's the hardest thing in the world because you've got a toddler that wants all your attention and you've, obviously, got a little baby that's attached to you, literally that is another level of mum-ness. It is hard. We're in the trenches, this is the trenches we're deep in there.' Juggling two children is tricky for a number of reasons, but Jorgie reveals she finds her son Forest's jealousy particularly difficult – but is making slow progress helping her eldest adjust to the new family dynamic. She explains: 'Honestly, it's great but I think there's jealousy bits when the toddler is like, 'you're my mummy, get off this one, put her in the carseat', like, 'No Forest, we're cuddling her'. 'It's tricky because he can't understand that I'm her Mummy, too. But he does know, it's weird. It's very hard to navigate. It's going there, it's brilliant. I think there's everyday you go, 'Oh that's a win, that's brilliant, we're out together in a pram, we did it'. So it is going well.' Jorgie announced her daughter's arrival in December by writing on Instagram, she said: "She's here …..! We are complete [heart emoji]. Thank you to everyone at Wigan hospital Especially @sandi_goulding who is our everything couldn't of asked for a better day." She then shared a sweet photo of herself holding her newborn's tiny hand. In May last year, Jorgie shared the news of her pregnancy on an episode of ITVBe's Drama Queens, as well as on her Instagram page. She posted a video of her fiancé, son and their dog covering a baby scan print out with their hands (and paw). She wrote alongside the post: "We've been keeping a little secret." Then, in September, she shared footage from her gender reveal party. Proudly showing off her bump in a long-sleeved white mini dress, Jorgie held a huge balloon that had the words 'Boy or girl?' printed on it. She then shared a clip of a huge white cake, with 'coming soon' iced on top. Jorgie and Ollie could be seen digging a wine glass each into the cake to see what the colour of the sponge was. Jorgie exclaimed: "Yay!", as she turned the glass around to show the pink filling of the cake. Forest and his half brother Alfie, who lives with them half of the time in their Greater Manchester home, couldn't wait to meet their little sister. But Jorgie started to get impatient with her pregnancy, telling OK! magazine that it felt like it went on for "100 years". She told the mag: "Honestly, it was the longest time. Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years! "The trouble was that my bump popped really early so I couldn't hide it. By the end I'd wake up every day and think, 'Yup, I'm still a whale, I'm not getting away from this.''So it was harder this time, but I felt like I really should enjoy it more and milk it. So if I randomly wanted to lie down, I'd lie down, I just didn't care what other people thought. I just wanted to enjoy it."
