Taunton's The Hankridge Arms is a 16th-century farmhouse converted into a pub, just off the M5 motorway.
It is a dog-friendly pub, with dogs allowed in the bar area. The pub serves Hall & Woodhouse beers as well as an 'extensive' wine selection and a wide range of teas, coffees and non-alcoholic drinks.
Known for its menu, the Hankridge Arms has won numerous awards, including a 2018/2019 Taste of the West Commended Award.
The Hankridge Arms has also been highlighted as 'Taunton's best-kept secret', according to the pub.
A grand opening party is planned for customers tonight (July 12) - with DJ Rob Duggan playing from 7pm until late.
A spokesperson on behalf of the Hankridge Arms spoke via social media: "Today, Shane and Michael have taken over The Hankridge Arms, along with the Majority of the original front of house team.
"We will be closed for the next week, whilst we have some refurbishment works completed. Please keep an eye on here for further updates.
"The team look forward to welcoming you back soon."

Pub's underground toilets damaged during roadworks

Council contractors working on a pedestrian scheme have accidentally damaged a pub's underground toilets during their work. Patrons at The Quadrant pub in Clifton, Bristol, now have to cross the road to use two portable toilets, after diggers destroyed a cellar roof. Pub director Tom Rowell said the damage meant his pub was losing 30-50% of its usual takings at this time of year. Bristol City Council said: "We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and are actively working with the business owner to rectify the situation as quickly as possible and with minimal disruption." More news stories for Bristol Watch the latest Points West Listen to the latest news for Bristol It is understood that contractors missed the cellar when a ground penetrating radar survey was conducted before work to pedestrianise Princess Victoria street began. "Luckily I was the only person in the building when I heard the crash, I went to the bathrooms to look and I could see daylight coming through and contractors looking down," Mr Rowell said. The damage and subsequent water leaks mean the building has no functioning toilets and patrons have to use two portable toilets. "My business relies on goodwill and of repeat and returning customers and giving them a premium and enjoyable experience and as soon as they come to need to use the facilities, the fact that they're not there has been a big issue," he said. Mr Rowell said there was a "lack of urgency" over the repairs, and "a level of passing the buck to the next person or the next department". He estimated internal repairs would take two days, but that could not happen until the road above was also fixed. Councillor Ed Plowden, chairman of Bristol City Council's Transport and Connectivity Committee said: "We accept that we need to put it right and have provided two portable toilets on site for The Quadrant customers to use until the remedy works have been complete." BrewDog co-founder plans cannabis market dominance in new venture

One of the founders of BrewDog is targeting domestic dominance with a new business, planning to invest £20m into his new medical cannabis company. Martin Dickie, who founded the alcohol and bars firm with James Watt nearly 20 years ago, now runs Waterside Pharmaceuticals. A licence was granted by the Home Office last year to cultivate medical cannabis, with the firm describing their set-up as a tech-led vertical farm, with controlled environments and sustainable operations. The first harvest, from a farm near Newburgh, Aberdeenshire, is expected to yield up to 9kg of medical cannabis. However, plans are to expand that to 200kg this year, with ambitions to continually scale up and grow the business over the coming years. 'Our aim is to become the UK market leader in medical cannabis,' Mr Dickie said. 'We have ambitious plans to expand the business, creating up to 100 new jobs in the local economy and investing around £20m over the next five years. 'Our longer-term ambitions involve building a second facility co-located with a renewable energy source, minimising our environmental impact, creating jobs and diversifying the rural economy.' Doctors in the UK have been allowed to prescribe cannabis-based medicines since 2018, for some conditions. The company estimates 50,000 to 60,000 patients benefit from them, with the number growing yearly. Plants in the controlled environment are subject to 12 hours of artificial light and 12 hours of darkness for optimal growth. Waterside plans to open a second facility over the longer term. Chief operating officer Morag Thomas, who also previously worked at BrewDog, claimed Waterside had a 'premium product' in part through no use of pesticides and fungicides, the Times reported. Mr Dickie reportedly retains ownership of around 20 per cent of BrewDog. Waterside did not respond to a request for comment over expansion plans and industry challenges.
