"Emily in Paris" Star Thalia Besson Returns for Season 5
Yara Sameh
Thalia Besson, who played deceitful antagonist Geneviève in Season 4 of Netflix's hit romantic comedy series 'Emily in Paris,' is back for Season 5, which is currently filming in Paris.
Besson, the daughter of French director Luc Besson, is joining the key recurring cast, notably Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Emily's nonchalant boss Sylvie, Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), and Ashley Park, who stars as Emily's best friend, Mindy Chen.
Season 5 also features the return of Emily Cooper's new Italian love interest, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), and her one-and-off partners, the sexy French chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and dashing Brit Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
A source says another male character will join the show this season.
Geneviève is the second 'villain' from 'Emily in Paris,' following Camille, Gabriel's French partner who was played by Camille Razat in the first four seasons of the show.
The American-French stepdaughter of Sylvie, Geneviève, is born out of wedlock. Geneviève is an NYU grad who moved to Paris in Season 4 and got hired at Agence Grateau, where Emily gracefully took her under her wing. However, Geneviève isn't as innocent as she appears to be, and she soon starts to attempt to steal her clients and seduce Emily's boyfriend, Gabriel. The latter ultimately turns down Geneviève and tries to win Emily back after learning that she's moved to Italy.
Season 4 wraps with a cliffhanger as Gabriel surprises Emily by showing up on the doorsteps of her new flat in Rome.
Season 5 launched filming last month in Rome and returned to the French capital several weeks ago.
The story picks up days after Season 4 ends, as Emily settles into her apartment in Rome to run Agence Grateau's Italian office and spend time with Marcello, the charming and confident heir of a family-owned cashmere company.

Jessie J Shares Heartbreaking Update following Mastectomy
Yara Sameh British pop singer Jessie J has confirmed she's not cancer-free following her mastectomy. The 37-year-old "Price Tag" singer told her followers on Friday that her previous social media post had been "misunderstood" and "the cancer at present had unfortunately not all gone". Jessie also said she was awaiting test results and would be taking a hiatus from social media to focus on her recovery. She penned: "I posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was... the cancer has all gone,". "This was a positive affirmation, NOT a fact. I don't have my results yet. I added the [fingers crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand, and clearly a lot didn't,". Jessie added: "A weird situation. My fault for not being clearer. But for now, I do not have my results after surgery, which was only 6 nights ago. I pray it will be true soon, but the journey of cancer isn't that simple, unfortunately." The star concluded: "Tapping off socials for a week. Healthy and needed a reset. To focus on my recovery and saying stuff that gets twisted or misread. My head and boob hurts. Lol, Bye. Always loveeeee." The confusion came after the songstress shared an Instagram update on Thursday, which read: "Pros: Cancer has all gone." She also revealed her mastectomy surgery had gone well. Adding to her list of positives, she wrote: "I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever." Jessie also noted that her partner, Chanan Safir Colman, and their son, Sky, have been very supportive. The singer later said that while she'd written the words "cancer is gone", she ended the comment with a fingers-crossed emoji as "it's a hope, not a fact". "I only had my surgery 4 days ago. I was just saying the pros of surgery, and this situation, and being positive," Jessie added."But I will get my results soon. And hopefully I can post that as a fact. But for now, I don't know. But I will stay positive and talk what I want into the universe." read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Backstage: Stormy at Nawafiz Festival
We caught up with Moroccan rap sensation Stormy ahead of his performance at Utrecht's Nawafiz Festival, where we discussed his pre-performance rituals and creative process. Jun 28, 2025 Moroccan rap sensation Stormy has been unstoppable since his debut album 'ICEBERG' in 2024. His unflinching honesty, sharp flows in Darija and French, and affinity for meaningful worldplay established him as one of the most exciting talents in the region's hip-hop scene and earned him a dedicated following across Europe as well. Before his breakthrough in the scene, the Rabat-born wordsmith used to release freestyles on YouTube, where he would anxiously await feedbacks from listeners to improve his lyrical delivery. Now, as he took centre stage at this year's Nawafiz Festival in Utrecht with confidence and swagger for his Netherlands debut - further expanding his global footprint - Stormy remains as humble as he first started. For him, live performances are another means through which he tries to workshop his sound, by paying close attention to the crowd and which flows or verses of his songs they react to the most. Backstage, he was still as welcoming, warm and humble as he vulnerably shared with us his experience visiting the Netherlands for the first time, his pre-performance rituals, and creative process. Despite his chart-topping hits and almost a million monthly streams on Spotify, Stormy's intention is never about making hits, but rather creating something that accurately reflects his skills and persona, and most importantly, satisfies his thirst for creativity.
