The Ford SUV's driver, a man, was also brought to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said. The identify of the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was being withheld, police said.
Investigators said that the Ford's driver failed to stop at the eastbound Highway 92 off-ramp at Alameda de las Pulgas during a red light when the Prius was traveling northbound during a green light. The Ford then broadsided the Prius, police said.
Police said they had not yet determined why the driver of the Ford did not stop, but said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.

Authorities arrest alleged associate of man suspected in deaths of 4 in Tennessee
A man described as an associate of the suspect in a quadruple homicide in Tennessee earlier this week has been arrested on suspicion of helping the fugitive, authorities said Saturday. Tanaka Brown, 29, was arrested and jailed Friday. He has been charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement. Brown is being held without bond in Lake County Jail, the bureau said. He is accused of helping Austin Robert Drummond, 28, who remained at large Saturday night. The crash happened at about 6:17 p.m. at the Alameda de las Pulgas exit from Highway 92.
