18-Year-Old Nabbed For Impersonating Policeman In Merlimau
Jasin police chief Supt Mohamad Rusli Mat said the suspect was arrested at a supermarket near the Telok Mas Industrial area at about 9 pm yesterday, following a report lodged earlier.
'At about 2 am on the day of the incident, the 19-year-old victim was approached by a suspect on a red-and-black motorcycle who claimed to be a police officer.
'The suspect asked for her driving licence and tried to grab her motorcycle key, but the victim refused and insisted they go to the Merlimau police station if he wanted to take further action. The suspect then fled the scene,' he said in a statement here today.
Mohamad Rusli said the suspect confessed during interrogation that his motive was only to intimidate the victim, and that he had impersonated a police officer on two occasions in the Merlimau area.
He said police also seized a motorcycle believed to have been used during the incident, along with several items, while the suspect has been remanded for three days from July 19 to assist in investigations under Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a public servant.

However, the yacht encountered a storm in the waters off Pulau Yu at 2.30pm on Tuesday and is believed to have capsized, with only Ates Demiroren managing to save himself. The rescued victim is currently reported to be weak and is receiving treatment at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital. The Marine Department, the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), and the Turkiye Embassy have been informed of the incident for further action. "All matters involving the Turkish nationals will be managed entirely by the Turkiye Embassy, and the rescued victim will be transported home once his condition improves," he added. Suspect caught placing leg under lorry wheel will be arrested, say police
KAJANG: Police say a man believed to be under the influence of drugs, who placed his leg under a moving lorry, will be arrested after he is discharged from hospital. Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abd Yusof said the 43-year-old suspect is currently receiving treatment in hospital. The incident occurred near Jalan Pekan Bangi Lama around 10.45am yesterday, when the suspect was caught on video placing his leg under the rear tyre of a lorry near a traffic light. However, no injuries were reported from the incident. The 33-year-old driver later lodged a police report and has dashcam footage of the incident. Checks revealed the suspect has 19 previous drug offences and two criminal records. Police said the case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code for acts endangering life or personal safety. Police hunt parang-wielding men who robbed Klang snooker shop
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down six men believed to be involved in an armed robbery at a snooker shop in Kapar, Klang, yesterday. Klang Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner S Vijaya Rao said a report was lodged today over the incident, which involved six suspects armed with parang. "Three of the suspects entered the premises, while the other three waited outside with three motorcycles. "The suspects fled with a total of RM823 in cash. The incident was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV)," he said in a statement today. Vijaya Rao said the case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery with the intent to cause death or grievous hurt.
