Man charged after two dog walkers injured in alleged hit-and-run
Emergency services were called to the scene on Attwood Rd about 7.10am following a report of a white ute striking two pedestrians.
The vehicle then allegedly left the scene without stopping.
A woman sustained serious injuries, while another received moderate injuries.
The pair were taken to hospital.

Earlier today, a 39-year-old man turned himself in at North Shore Police Station, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams, Waitematā CIB, said.
He has since been charged with failing to stop and ascertain injury and two counts of careless driving causing injury.
'The investigation remains ongoing, however we would like to thank all the members of the public who have so far contacted police.'
Mitchell Prouse yesterday told 1News his mother "went airborne and landed in a ditch", while her friend "got hit and thrown to the side".
"It was shocking when I saw Mum in the ditch, and I thought she was paralysed, and then it was just rage.
"The guy left and both of them could have been dead."

The friend's dog was taken to veterinary intensive care with serious injuries, but the Prouse family's dog, a Huntaway cross named Luna, has yet to be found, he said.
The man will appear in the North Shore District Court on July 12.

Officer injured after stolen vehicle rams police in Auckland's Manurewa
Police are hunting for the driver of a stolen vehicle that struck and injured a police officer before fleeing in Auckland last night. The stolen vehicle was spotted parked near Southmall in Manurewa at around 11.30pm on Tuesday. Detective Inspector Karen Bright said two police units arrived on scene and signalled for the vehicle to remain stopped. "As police approached the vehicle on foot , the vehicle fled, hitting a police constable and collided with a patrol vehicle." St John said one ambulance responded to the incident. ADVERTISEMENT "One person was assessed at the scene and transported to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition." Bright said the officer had been discharged from hospital. "The vehicle was later located abandoned in Manurewa. This vehicle will undergo an examination and enquiries are underway to locate the driver," she said. "Investigators will now be working to locate this individual, and we suggest doing the right thing and handing yourself in at the nearest police station." Police Minister says record high gang numbers 'highly concerning'
For the first time, the number of patched gang members and gang prospects has surpassed 10,000 — with Police Minister Mark Mitchell acknowledging the figure is highly concerning. The number of gang members has been steadily growing in recent years. There were 9270 gang members on the National Gang List at the time of the 2023 election. As of July 10, there were 10,009 — an increase of more than 700 gang members and associates. The National Gang List counted patched members and prospects identified by state agencies. Police officer numbers are failing to keep up with the national gang member list, Benedict Collins reports. (Source: 1News) Mitchell told 1News today that the Government's tough on crime policies were working and gang numbers were now growing more slowly. ADVERTISEMENT "We're going after the gangs, we're making their life as difficult as possible," he said. He repeatedly blamed the rising gang numbers on the previous Labour-led government and their policies. "We're not going to reverse what happened under Labour [for] six years, where you saw a massive increase in gang numbers. "We're heading in the right direction." In an answer to a Parliamentary written question, however, Mitchell acknowledged the issue was alarming. "I acknowledge that it is highly concerning to see gang membership grow to this level." Data from the Police Minister's office shows that when Labour came to power in 2017 there were 5343 individuals on the National Gang List. By the 2023 election, there were 9270 — an increase of nearly 4000 over six years.
