A penny for Jon McCracken's thoughts when watching Scotland over the past few days.
The Scotland goalkeeping situation is a complete mess right now.
I feel for the Dundee goalie because he must be hugely frustrated when a player who has played nine minutes of first-team football in the past season gets in ahead of him.
Yes, McCracken has been out of the Dundee team for a while but he played 16 Premiership matches for the Dark Blues last season.
That's more than all three goalkeepers in the squad for the Liechtenstein game.
And he did well enough to earn a call-up to the Scotland squad in September.
He's not become a bad keeper since then – if he was good enough then, he's good enough now to be in the squad ahead of the younger guys.
It must be a massive frustration for players pushing to get into the international setup to see players called up by Steve Clarke even if they aren't playing at club level.
It's clear Clarke is annoyed by the lack of options in goal.
What is also clear is there are opportunities for guys like McCracken to force their way in.
This will be a pivotal season for the young Dundee goalie.

That is according to transfer insider Mick Brown - who expects "movement" on the 38-year-old's future in the coming days after his Leicester City contract officially expired. Rangers are far from alone in chasing the veteran's signature with a whopping 10 clubs said to be in the picture, but Brown told Football Insider: 'Signing Jamie Vardy would be a good move for Rangers. It's a deal they've been looking into because they're always keen to capitalise on any opportunities to sign top players on free transfers. 'I expect there will be a lot of movement this week with contracts expiring today [June 30]. It's one I expect Vardy would be open to as well, because it's less intense than the Premier League which maybe at this stage of his career he isn't best suited to. 'Plus, it would give him and opportunity to play in Europe so he's still at a high level. 'He's performed to a very good level for a number of years and now he's maybe going over the top, so a move to Rangers would be a good opportunity. 'e'd fit in well and score plenty of goals, and that's exactly what Russell Martin needs. Especially if they're expecting to lose two of their current forwards. 'Then, because he would be on a free transfer, they can save some money which would then be put towards other areas of the team.' Croatian centre-back Luka Jelenic is reportedly a target for Rangers just 12 months after a move to Osijek. The 25-year-old only joined his current club in an £800,000 deal last summer and a bargain deal could be on the cards at Ibrox. Vitoria Guimaraes has also been linked with a move - but a path appears to be clear with O Jogo reporting the club are no longer interested.

Goalkeeper Jordan Amissah leaves Ross County to sign for Burton Albion
Jordan Amissah has left Ross County to sign for English League One side Burton Albion. The 23-year-old goalkeeper made 20 Premiership appearances last season as the Highland club were relegated from the top tier. He also played both play-off games against Livingston that consigned County to the Championship. Amissah joined the Staggies in December 2024 after five months without a club following his departure from Sheffield United last summer. He now returns to Burton Albion, where he spent five months on loan in 2023, on a permanent deal. The Dingwall club confirmed the news on Monday. A statement posted on social media said: 'Ross County FC can confirm Jordan Amissah has left the club and has joined Burton Albion. 'Jordan made 23 appearances for the club since joining in December last year. 'We thank Jordan for his contributions whilst at the club and wish him all the very best for the future.' After kicking off his professional career with Livingston and Dundee, Griffiths earned a move to England as he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers. A successful loan spell spanning almost two seasons with Hibs brought 31 goals in 66 appearances and that really kickstarted his career as Griffiths went on to enjoy a trophy-laden spell with Celtic after making a permanent move to the Glasgow giants in January 2014.
