Dr. Dayananda said that the new digital platform is fully compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) guidelines, ensuring seamless integration with India's national digital health ecosystem and offering the highest standards of data privacy and cyber security.
And, the digital shift has been made possible through dedicated collaboration between hospital leadership, IT team and the Presco team, he said.
He said that the KLE Society has plans to extend the paperless transformation to all its hospitals in the country.
KLE Hospital in Belagavi handles over 50,000 patient records annually and the digital transformation is estimated to save over 10 million to 12.5 million pages each year.

Only 20% of employers offer health screening as 70% of employees battle lifestyle diseases in India: Report

CHENNAI: Over 70% of employees in India carry at least one lifestyle-related health risk, yet only 20% of employers offer routine health screenings, according to a new report released by MediBuddy, India's largest digital healthcare platform, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The findings highlight the need for a shift from episodic, event-based wellness efforts to always-on, digital-first health ecosystems that enhance productivity, support talent retention, and ensure business continuity. These outcomes are increasingly critical in a workforce landscape defined by hybrid work models, evolving employee priorities, and rising chronic health risks. The report—titled Workplace Health Reimagined: Corporate India's Readiness for Digital Health Leadership—is the second edition of MediBuddy's corporate wellness survey. It reveals how employee well-being is no longer a peripheral concern but a core business strategy in India Inc., especially in the face of rising medical inflation (14%), growing chronic disease burden, and increasing demand for inclusive, preventive care. In today's hybrid work environment, companies are increasingly prioritising both physical and mental health while adopting continuous care models. Technology is central to this transformation, with AI-powered insights, personalised engagement, and mobile-first platforms enabling more targeted and effective healthcare delivery. India's digital health infrastructure is rapidly scaling, supported by government initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and IRDAI's push for 100% cashless insurance claims, which are accelerating the transition to integrated, outpatient-first systems. The report highlights key health indicators, noting that non-communicable diseases now account for 63% of all deaths in India, with conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke affecting working-age individuals at median ages of 32, 34, and 36 respectively. The doctor-to-population ratio remains below WHO guidelines, and 70% of India's rural and semi-urban populations face significant barriers to diagnostics and preventive care. Further, only 41% of Indian households have health insurance, leaving more than 50 crore people—primarily gig, daily wage, and informal sector workers—vulnerable to catastrophic health expenses. Out-of-pocket expenses continue to dominate India's healthcare spending, accounting for 63% of total expenditure. OPD insurance penetration remains below 0.1%, a stark contrast to over 85% in the US and 95% in Singapore, despite outpatient care constituting nearly 70% of out-of-pocket health costs.

India's Luxury Market Surge: HNW and UHNW Population Set to Grow 11–15% CAGR Through 2034, a must-watch market for global luxury brands: BCG Report

Luxury is at a turning point. For the first time in more than a decade, the Personal Luxury Goods Market is experiencing a slowdown in growth, with flat to slightly negative performance expected in 2025. BCG's True Luxury Global Consumer Insights 2025 reveals a fundamental market shift: aspirational consumers—the entry point for many into luxury—are pulling back, while top-tier clients are confirmed to become the key engine for long-term value. The report, based on a global survey of luxury consumers across all spending tiers, with a focus on the ultra-spenders, provides a clear path forward for brands seeking to grow in a challenging environment. The global luxury market is at an inflection point—while aspirational consumers pull back, top-tier clients, who make up just 0.1% of the population, are driving 23% of all luxury spend. India is not yet the 'next China', but with its HNW and UHNW population growing at 11–15% CAGR through 2034, it is fast becoming a must-watch market for global luxury brands. As wealth creation accelerates and a young, brand-conscious demographic rises, brands are setting the stage for deeper local engagement. The future of luxury lies in re-focusing on craftsmanship, personalization, and intimate experiences—especially in emerging markets like India where aspiration is increasingly backed by affluence. Key findings of the report: Aspirational buyers are really slipping away: Once accounting for 70% of the luxury market, aspirational consumers have lost almost 15 percentage points in share as affordability concerns rise. The cost of chasing scale, losing soul in luxury: Luxury was once the realm of the few, but in the race for scale, much of the industry lost its soul and traded exclusivity for reach, stability for volatility. Brands overly exposed to Aspirational consumers are seeing their performance erode. The way forward starts at the core: The most resilient brands are those focused on top-tier clients - clients that spend on average 355.000 euro per year on luxury and build on an underlying HNWI audience of over 900,000 individuals growing ~10% annually. The report calls for a back to the core strategy: both on the core luxury consumer and on the core luxury fundamentals, by meeting top-client's expectations. Find them where they spend. Personal Luxury remains their baseline, but the share of wallet of those individuals spans beyond it: luxury is no longer confined to ownership—it is now about lifestyle orchestration, with a shift towards 'health-as-wealth' mindset What they expect from brands, they do not get. What they want is simple: connection, intimacy, excellence, recognition. What do they get? A luxury that still feels too noisy, too crowded, too industrialized. Brands need to refocus their strategy, centered on high-touch, human-led client relationships (enhanced by GenAI), exclusive experiences, and vertically integrated product quality.

KLES Hospital in Belagavi goes paperless; saves 1.5k trees annually

Belagavi: Taking a significant step towards digital transformation, the KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC, Belagavi, adopted fully paperless administration. According to hospital sources, the hospital used around 12.5 million pages of paper annually, and by taking this step, it will save more than 1,500 trees. Speaking to media at KLE Hospital on Tuesday, Col Dr Dayanand, medical director of KLE Hospital Belagavi, said that KLE Hospital became fully paperless hospital in Karnataka, powered by Presco Paperless Solutions. With over 50,000 patient records handled annually, KLE's paperless transformation is estimated to save more than 10 to 12.5 million pages each year, equivalent to preserving approximately 1,250 to 1,500 trees, creating a powerful and measurable impact on the environment. KLE Society successfully implemented this paperless transformation at their 1,200-bedded healthcare setup — a massive and complex undertaking — which is a testament to their commitment to excellence. Under this initiative, all clinical, administrative, and operational processes at the hospital have been fully digitised. Presco, a unique health-tech innovation award-winning technology, transformed patient medical records electronically, completely eliminating paper-based processes and reducing administrative burdens. This resulted in improved efficiency, significant cost savings, and enhanced data accuracy. In his message, Prabhakar Kore, chairman of KLE, stated that their vision was to offer the highest quality of care while keeping pace with the evolving needs of healthcare delivery. This paperless initiative is a step forward in creating a smart, transparent, and environmentally responsible healthcare system. KLE has taken a pioneering step towards the Digital India mission envisioned by the Prime Minister, he said, urging all healthcare institutions to move towards digital transformation. Vikram Totre, co-founder of Neuralbits Technologies, said that KLE Society plans to extend this paperless transformation across all its hospitals in the country. Importantly, Presco's platform is fully compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) guidelines, ensuring seamless integration with India's national digital health ecosystem and offering the highest standards of data privacy and cybersecurity, he explained.
