Pete Davidson reacts to his 'dream' of becoming a father coming true: 'Everybody's just been superexcited for me'

Yahoo3 days ago
Pete Davidson hit it big by being part of the cast of Saturday Night Live and making movies such as The King of Staten Island, years ago. But only now is the comedian on the road to fulfilling one of his more personal desires: becoming a dad.
He and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, are expecting their first child, she revealed July 16 on social media.
"Everybody's just been superexcited for me, because they know it's been my dream," Davidson told E! News on Tuesday. "I'm very lucky and very, very happy."
So what have his supporters been saying?
"They all just have been like, 'You're going to be great at this. It's the best thing you'll ever do in your life,'" Davidson said, noting that former SNL star Adam Sandler gave him "some great advice."
(Sandler and his wife, Jackie, are the parents of two teenage daughters: Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 16.)
Davidson said he's delighted about "being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn't have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn't have, and what you didn't like, not do it."
"[I'm] definitely a family guy," Davidson told Kevin Hart in a July 2022 episode of talk show Hart to Heart.
"My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid," Davidson said. "That's like my dream. It's like, super corny, [but] it would be so fun. Dress up the little dude. I'm so excited for that chapter."He said he's wanted to have a kid since his own father died in the 9/11 attacks when he was 7.
The star of upcoming horror movie The Home has dated Hewitt, at least publicly, since March. They've been spotted cheering on the New York Knicks and supporting Dave Navarro at his wedding in Scotland.
Davidson had previously expressed disenchantment with his celebrity lifestyle and being known for his romantic entanglements. He said he had become "oversaturated" in a December 2024 interview with W Magazine.
"When you're first coming up, and getting all these offers, it's hard to say no, because you're hungry. I made the mistake of doing literally everything. Now I'm older and wiser, and I'm realizing that less is more," he said.
"I just want to be known for doing good work," Davidson continued. "I want to be out there only when it's a movie, stand-up, charity, or business ventures. That's when I want to be seen. I don't want to be this f---ing loser who just dates people. That's not who I am."
Davidson had previously been in high-profile relationships with such stars as Emily Ratajkowski, Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, and Kim Kardashian.

Gen V Season 2 Trailer Reveals Ethan Slater's Casting, Starlight's Mission for Marie and a Chance Perdomo Tribute

A familiar face is welcoming Gen V back to Prime Video for its long-awaited second season, premiering on Wednesday, Sept. 17 with the first three episodes. As just revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, the trailer for Season 2 kicks off with Starlight (The Boys' Erin Moriarty) turning to Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) for help. Vought is resuming a mysterious — and presumably dangerous — research program known as 'Project Odessa,' and she needs Marie to stop it. This plan requires Marie to return to Godolkin University, which is now under the troubling control of Dean Cipher (Season 2 newcomer Hamish Linklater). Dexter: Resurrection's Michael C. Hall and Krysten Ritter Detail Killer Dinner Party, Dexter and Mia's Instant Connection — Watch

Who would've thought that Dexter Morgan could be a social butterfly? In Episode 4 of Dexter: Resurrection, Dexter infiltrates a luxurious dinner party while under cover as Ronald 'Red' Schmidt, aka the Dark Passenger. After being picked up by Uma Thurman's Charley, he arrives at the beautiful estate of Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), a man who's obsessed with serial killers, so much so that he collects their trophies and keeps them in his museum-like corridor. Prater has pieces like John Wayne Gacy's clown costume, Jeffrey Dahmer's bloody fridge, Charles Manson's guitar, and even more notably, the Trinity Killer's hammer and the Bay Harbor Butcher's blood slides. Washington Black's Sterling K. Brown and Ernest Kingsley Junior Revel in the 'Brotherhood and Mentorship' Hulu's Historical Drama Gave Them Shortly after, Dexter is introduced to four other killers just like him. There's Mia/Lady Vengeance (Krysten Ritter); Lowell/The Tattoo Collector (Neil Patrick Harris); Al/Rapunzel (Eric Stonestreet); and Gareth/The Gemini Killer (David Dastmalchian). That's a lot of killers all in one place! 'It's unbelievable,' Michael C. Hall tells TVLine in the video above, referencing the eye-opening soirée Dexter attends. 'As an actor, I felt like, 'What just happened? Did Dexter get transported into some twisted serial killer superhero movie?' But I think that's how he's feeling too… We've set the show in an environment where that kind of thing feels almost plausible. That someone [like Prater] with that sort of fetishistic, crazy mindset and unlimited funds might try to pull something like that off.' While each of the killers in attendance is intriguing in his or her own way, Dexter is drawn to Lady Vengeance, a woman who hunts down sexual predators. Dexter immediately wonders whether she has a code of her own. A code that is, perhaps, just like his. 'She's very intrigued by him,' says Ritter about Mia's instant connection to Dexter. 'She's incredulous of all of the serial killers and she wants to know more. I think she finds him attractive and that's the first way in. And Dexter thinks that she has a code, [so] they kind of hit it off.' During dinner, Lowell makes known his plans for his next victim, a woman who's getting a tattoo of a French bulldog. So while there does seem to be some sort of future for Dexter and Mia, Lowell has another thing coming. Dexter drugs the guy just as Lowell's about to take down his vic. Dex then drags him to a local tattoo parlor and straps him to a table with his signature plastic wrap. And just before he stabs Lowell in the chest to watch him bleed out, he reveals his true identity. 'I'm Dexter Morgan. The Bay Harbor Butcher.' Lowell's eyes go wide because he knows exactly what that means. His killing days are done. One down, three to go? ‘Predator: Killer of Killers' Gets a New Ending Tonight

Predator: Killer of Killers ended with a tease of where the franchise could go next, and as it turns out, that's not the full ending. After Torres and Kenji escape from the Grendel King, we see Yautja cart a cryogenically frozen Ursa away into a collection of prisoners. One of them is is Naru, the protagonist of 2022's Prey played by Amber Midthunder. During the Predator: Badlands panel for San Diego Comic-Con, the Killers ending was shown, further revealing that Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover), the leads of the first two films, were also captured. And that extra snippet will be added to Killer of Killers later tonight. It's not over yet. Stream a new extended ending of Predator: Killer of Killers tonight at 7pm PT on Hulu. — Predator (@Predator) July 25, 2025Ahead of Killers' release, Trachtenberg confirmed to io9 that 'people who defeat the Predator get captured and are frozen,' which helps laid the groundwork for the Dutch and Harrigan reveals. He also said at the time he planned to get back to Naru when he had the chance. Now that we know those three are in the picture, those plans could start to take some more shape as he steers the franchise towards wherever it's going. Until we learn more about those plans, you can watch Predator: Killer of Killers on Hulu, and Predator: Badlands when it hits theaters November 7. Want more io9 news?
