PM Modi says 'took resolve of Op Sindoor from Bihar'; takes jibe at Lalu Yadav
Operation Sindoor
, India's cross-border action targeted at the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
PM Modi also highlighted his government's welfare schemes and infrastructure push and drew a contrast between the current NDA govt and the previous RJD era, which he accused of neglecting Bihar.
In a clear jibe at Lalu Prasad Yadav and the RJD-Congress alliance, he accused the previous governments of financial discrimination against the state. 'They were taking revenge from Nitish ji's government,' he said, adding that the NDA had since reversed that trend by investing significantly more in Bihar's growth.

Addressing the massive rally, PM Modi flagged off four Amrit Bharat trains and inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore.
Below are key quotes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address in Motihari:
"I took the resolve of Operation Sindoor from the land of Bihar and the entire world watches its success today."
"In the last 11 years, more than 4 crore houses have been built for the poor in the country under the PM Awas Yojana. Of these, about 60 lakh houses have been built in Bihar alone. In our Motihari district alone, about 3 lakh poor families have got concrete houses and the count is constantly increasing."
"To take eastern India forward, we have to make Bihar a developed Bihar. Today, work is happening so fast in Bihar because there is a government working for Bihar at the centre and in the state. When there was a Congress and RJD government at the centre, Bihar got only around 2 lakh crore rupees in 10 years of UPA. That means these people were taking revenge from Nitish ji's government. In 2014, you gave me the opportunity to serve at the centre. After coming to the centre, I also ended that old politics of taking revenge from Bihar. In the last 10 years, in the 10 years of NDA, the amount given for the development of Bihar is many times more than before."
"Our resolve is that in the coming times, Motihari should be known in the east just like Mumbai is in western India. Just like there are opportunities in Gurugram, Gaya should also have similar opportunities. Like Pune, there should be industrial development in Patna. Like Surat, Santhal Pargana should also develop. Like Jaipur, new records of tourism should be made in Jalpaiguri and Jajpur. Like Bangalore, the people of Birbhum should also progress."
"The world is progressing very fast in the 21st century. The power that was once held by only the western countries is now being dominated and participated in by the eastern countries. The eastern countries are now catching a new pace of development. Just as the eastern countries in the world are moving ahead in the race of development, in India this is the era of our eastern states."

Kumar used the occasion to announce key initiatives, including free electricity for all, a ?50,000 crore package for 430 new schemes, and an ambitious target to create one crore jobs over the next five years. 'During the previous government's tenure, there was no electricity. Even in Patna, it was available for just eight hours,' he said.
He also announced that pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled would rise from ?400 to ?1,100 and confirmed new infrastructure investments including a Makhana Board and support for the Western Kosi River under the 2025 Union Budget plans.
Without naming the Opposition, Kumar asserted that real development only began under the NDA after 2005, claiming the previous governments had failed to even utilise allocated funds properly.
The visit marked Prime Minister Modi's sixth trip to Bihar this year and comes just months ahead of the crucial Assembly elections expected later in 2025.

‘When we have provided a facility, it has to be ensured that it works as well': Gujarat CM's message to officials
When a facility has been created for people's convenience, there cannot be any compromise in ensuring that it is in functioning order. 'Manipulation of facts': TMC hits back at PM Modi's remark on Bengalis at Durgapur rally
Earlier, in a bid to counter the Trinamool Congress' allegation of 'harassment' and 'torture' of Bengali speaking people from West Bengal in different BJP-ruled states, Modi said, 'For BJP, Bengali identity is above all. But what is happening here? Trinamool is threatening West Bengal's own culture for its own sake. It is bringing in infiltrators, making fake identity cards. It has created an ecosystem, as a result, the country is being harmed, Bengal is being harmed. They have crossed all limits to appease' Trinamool Congress leader and party's spokesperson Kunal Ghosh termed Modi's speech as 'distortion of truth, application of lies, manipulation of facts, attempts to mislead people'. In a post on X, he wrote: 'Unemployment is rising under the central government's tenure, corruption, violence against women, and misgovernance in BJP-ruled states. Despite the central government's discrimination, Bengal is progressing under Mamata Banerjee's leadership; this is clear from the central government's report and NITI Aayog's report.' Ghosh claimed that the BJP won't even reach 40 seats in 2026.

Andhra CM Naidu neglected Rayalaseema region: YSRCP
Amaravati, Jul 18 (PTI) Senior YSRCP leader G Srikanth Reddy on Friday alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had neglected the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, and said that only former CMs YS Rajasekhar Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had worked for its upliftment. Addressing a press conference in Kurnool, the YSRCP leader alleged that Naidu is making false claims to take credit for the Rayalaseema region. 'Naidu has been neglecting Rayalaseema since long and has been unabashedly making false claims by trying to take credit which is not due," Reddy said. According to the YSRCP leader, Naidu had issued an order back in 1998 to reduce the capacity of Handri-Neeva project and convert it into a drinking water project. After 'dislodging" NT Rama Rao, who conceived Telugu Ganga, Handri-Neeva, and Galeru Nagari projects, Naidu never took them forward as it was not his priority, he alleged. It was only after Rajasekhar Reddy had assumed office that the irrigation works began in the parched Rayalaseema region and he reverted the GO issued by Naidu to increase the capacity of the Handri-Neeva and Galeru-Nagari projects back to 40 TMC from 5 TMC, he said. During Jagan Mohan Reddy's term between 2019 and 2024, he had taken forward irrigation projects worth Rs 40,300 crore and also the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, which was nearly completed at a cost of Rs 800 crore, he said. The TDP chief is bringing up the Polavaram-Banakacherla project to 'show off', he claimed. Naidu's interest is only in mobilising advances and kickbacks, alleged Reddy, adding that it was Jagan Mohan Reddy who had provided drinking water to Kuppam. There was no immediate reaction from the TDP. PTI STH KH view comments First Published: July 18, 2025, 21:15 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
