EPPY's round-up! K-pop group ASC2NT (어센트) is about to kick off their 1st Asia Tour 'Bloomed,' and Malaysia makes the list. Whether it's a solo concert or a music festival, there's nothing quite like seeing your favourite artist perform live on stage in your home country. What's even more exciting is when they take the time to explore the local culture and visit popular tourist spots around the city they're performing in. In recent years, we've seen plenty of K-pop idols sharing vlogs or photos of themselves wandering around Kuala Lumpur and sampling local delicacies. Joining the list of Korean stars doing just that is rock band Dragon Pony (드래곤포니), who recently shared what they got up to during their visit to the capital. In case you missed it, Dragon Pony recently performed in Malaysia as part of the artist line-up for the KBS 2025 ROUND Festival, which took place at Zepp Kuala Lumpur from 21st (Saturday) to 22nd (Sunday) June 2025. The band took to the stage on Day 2 of the event, performing on the same day as Korean singer Paul Kim, who delighted fans with a cover of Anuar Zain's 'Sedetik Lebih'. Over the long weekend, the four-member group shared a video on their Instagram page, showing their excited reaction to receiving what appeared to be a disposable film camera. The clip then cuts to a slideshow of snapshots capturing their time together in Kuala Lumpur. As seen in the photos above, apart from the ROUND Festival itself, some of the shots capture their visit to the Petronas Twin Towers and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang. The band also appeared to enjoy a pizza meal in the city, although the restaurant remains unidentified. Shortly after posting the video and photos on social media, Malaysian fans were thrilled to see Dragon Pony enjoying their time in Kuala Lumpur. Many expressed hopes that the band would return to Malaysia for a solo concert in the future, while others were happy that our country is featured in their social content. Some were wondering if any fans saw or approached the members while they were exploring the city. Dragon Pony have also been uploading vlogs on YouTube from the countries they've performed in recently, so here's hoping they'll share one from their time here in our beloved Malaysia. Deepfakes are a growing concern in the entertainment industry as many female stars find themselves victims of edited, explicit photos and videos. Thankfully, companies are taking action to address this issue and protect their artists. Yesterday (30th June 2025, Monday), BELIFT LAB shared an update on the fan communication app Weverse regarding the legal cases involving the K-pop girl group ILLIT (아일릿). The group and the agency have been regularly filing lawsuits against individuals who have been sexually harassing the members. In some cases, the individuals have also been creating deepfake content of the girls and spreading them online. However, in a recent update, BELIFT LAB revealed that some of the perpetrators have been referred to the prosecution and sentenced to prison. The agency wrote, 'The identities of the suspects and the details of the charges have already been confirmed, and they have been referred to the prosecution.' While the videos were allegedly distributed through anonymous platforms, the label was able to track the perpetrators through international judicial cooperation. Moving forward, BELIFT LAB will continue to take action against sexual harassment of their artists, writing, 'There will be no settlements or leniency for acts such as spreading false information, defamation, or sexual harassment. We want to make it clear once again that we are taking all possible legal measures.' The agency also promised to continue taking action based on fan reports and internally gathered evidence. Fans have reacted to the news, expressing relief that the perpetrators have received punishment. Some also expressed concern towards the ILLIT members, noting the stress of being sexually harassed. Others also hope for many more K-pop agencies to take similar action because deepfakes are a rampant issue in the industry and are affecting many female idols, including TWICE and BLACKPINK. When going solo or with groups, K-pop idols almost always venture towards different facets of music to realise their next artistic direction. Usually, we see idols debuting on the American charts, but we might just be able to see one on Bollywood screens very soon. In an interview with GQ India published on 28th June 2025 (Saturday), Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨) hinted at his intent for a possible Bollywood debut. The 31-year-old artist had also expressed eagerly in multiple interviews during his trip to India about how he would want to be featured in films in India. 'I want to take this opportunity to announce that, actually… I've never acted before in my life, but my first movie is going to be a Bollywood film', Jackson said in the GQ India interview. Joining him was Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh, who was also featured on the idol's song 'Buck', as they converse jokingly about his possible Bollywood debut. The GOT7 member also hinted at his intent to join actor Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film, Krrish 4, in an interview with Elle India, saying, 'Maybe I'll be able to participate in the soundtrack. Or maybe since I've never acted before, it could be my first time acting'. The 31-year-old continued saying that they could bring him out on set without having a dialogue, as he could be shot as soon as he appears.
