Showing off gun on social media leads to arrest in Pattaya
Authorities say the man claimed the weapons were borrowed and had been used only for posing in photos for fun.
Officers from the Tourist Police Division obtained a court warrant to search the property on Thepprasit Road in the tourist town after receiving reports about a person using a profile photo showing himself with multiple firearms.
On arriving at the two-storey residence worth 10 million baht on over 200 square wah of land, officers rang the doorbell but received no response. They found the front gate unlocked and entered the house, where they encountered Liu Feng, 47, who appeared visibly startled by the presence of police surrounding the property.
A search of his bedroom uncovered 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a short-barrelled BB gun, and a long BB gun, all stored in a wardrobe. No actual firearms were found.
During questioning, Mr Liu admitted that the only weapons in his possession were BB guns. He claimed the real firearms shown in the video and photos were borrowed from friends, and some of them belonged to a shooting range.
He said he only posed with them for fun before posting the images online. The ammunition, he said, was also left in his care by a friend.
Police took Mr Liu into custody along with the items seized and documented the arrest. He was handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.

Chinese anti-scam team arrives in Myawaddy
TAK - A team from China's Criminal Investigation Bureau has arrived in Myanmar's Myawaddy border township to discuss help for Chinese victims of the scam centres that continue to operate there, a reliable source said on Monday. The 11 investigators first travelled to Thailand and then flew from Bangkok on a Nok Air flight to Mae Sot, in Tak province, on Sunday evening. They then crossed the border to Myawaddy. The source said the Chinese CIB officials, part of Beijing's Ministry of Public Security, planned talks with Myanmar officials on assistance for Chinese victims of scam centres in Myawaddy and would urge Myanmar authorities to take strong action against those still operating in border areas. The team's arrival followed a report that another Chinese model was lured to Thailand for a "photoshoot" early last month, and was instead whisked off to Myanmar. The deception repeated the fate of Chinese actor Wang Xing who went missing near the Thai-Myanmar border and was later rescued from Myanmar in January this year. Wang told officials that a compatriot had enticed him to come to Thailand, and he had been taken away for scam-centre training in Myanmar. In late January a Chinese assistant minister for public security arrived in Thailand to plan help for Chinese victims of scam centres in Myanmar. That led to concerted action against the scam gangs operating from buildings in Myanmar bordering Thailand. A lot of foreigners tricked and put to work by the gangsters were rescued and repatriated, including many Chinese. Thai support included cutting off power, fuel and internet services to these border regions in February.

Chinese group flees Pattaya hotel after man's fatal fall
Police were hunting for a group of Chinese people who fled a Pattaya hotel with belongings and equipment, including computers, in several vehicles after a Chinese man fell to his death there on Friday afternoon. It happened at a hotel in North Pattaya at 1.55pm on Friday. CCTV footage showed the Chinese man in a black shirt and shorts fall from the sixth floor. Seconds later another man in a red shirt ran to the body. He stared at the body for less than a minute and ran back into the hotel. At 2.06pm or about 10 minutes after the fall, CCTV footage showed a group of Chinese men and women rushed out from the hotel with belongings and equipment, including computers. At 2.17pm six vehicles vehicles. Others walked out of the hotel with rucksacks. The dead Chinese man was identified as Liu Song, 24. He fell from the sixth floor of the hotel, where there are 16 rooms. Police found signs of urgent attempts to move out of the rooms.
