Sprinkler systems are an important component of fire protection systems, the requirements of which go beyond building regulations in some cases. They are highly effective in extinguishing and making people aware of fire hazards. As a result, they are fitted as standard in many buildings.
Applicable guidelines include the European VdS standard (VdS CEA 4001) and the almost identical EN 12845 (European standard), the American FM standard 1951 (Factory Mutual Insurance Company, FM Global) in addition to the UL standard (Underwriters Laboratories, UL) based on the NFPA 13 (National Fire Protection Association, NFPA). The American standards can complement one another as well as the European standards and guidelines in terms of the requirements when fastening conduits, although there are some differences to be considered when looking at the details. Depending on the guideline, different load specifications apply to pipe supports for sprinkler conduits as a test load or minimum load-bearing capacity or in terms of fastening distances and connection thread sizes when using steel pipes. FRSMN, a two-screw galvanised heavy-duty pipe clamp without a sound insulation insert, is approved for sprinkler systems and comes equipped with a double connection nut and from DN 300 with an M16 connection nut. The connection nuts are pushed through or welded all round and provide pipe fastenings with a higher bending strength. The version with two screws enables optimised adaptation to the outer diameter of the pipe, which means that pipes with an outer diameter of 15 – 521 mm can be securely fastened with threaded pipes indoors.
Another new addition to the range is the ETR-L, fischer's U-bolt with a longer metric thread that offers even more flexibility on top of the ETR when fastening various pipe systems in buildings. The version with two screws enables optimised adaptation to the outer diameter of the pipe. The U-bolt is fastened to steel profiles or consoles. The fischer FETR-C channel connector allows the fischer ETR/ETR-L to be connected to the FUS channel system with ease. It can be freely positioned on all FUS channels, regardless of their hole pattern.

Italian cybersecurity firm Exein sees defence boost as it closes funding round
Italian tech firm Exein said on Wednesday a pick up in European defence spending was supporting its domestic growth, as it closed a funding round aimed at global expansion. The startup, which provides embedded cybersecurity on small devices including chips, is planning to expand its range of products as countries and businesses move away from cloud-based systems because of data sovereignty concerns and rising costs, its Chief Executive Gianni Cuozzo said. Italy has been trying for years to foster a tech startup sector. As European countries increase their defence spending in a push to meet NATO targets and protect themselves against Russian expansionism, demand for domestic cybersecurity and infrastructure protection systems is increasing. Exein said on Wednesday its Series C funding round raised 70 million euros ($81 million) for expansion across the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, and to strengthen its European presence. Its plans include acquisitions in Europe and the U.S. to target new users, followed by another funding round for a "bigger acquisition", and a public listing between 2029 and 2030, Cuozzo said. The group, whose clients include MediaTek, Daikin , Seco and Kontron, said in April it was valued at around 500 million euros. It is targeting 20 million euros in revenues this year and aiming for triple-digit revenue growth in each of the next three years, helped by acquisitions, Cuozzo said. Attackers "are no longer breaching through the front door; the microwave on a military ship, or the smart fish tank in a hospital waiting room - any one of these could be exploited to compromise the entire network," said Elena Moneta, Principal at London-based VC firm Balderton, which led the funding round.

The CEO of the world's most valuable firm told state broadcaster CCTV on Tuesday that the Chinese market is massive, dynamic, and highly innovative, and it's crucial for American companies to establish roots in China. On Tuesday, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the planned resumption of sales of Nvidia's H20 AI chips to China are part of U.S. negotiations on rare earths. Chinese companies have scrambled to place orders for the chips, which Nvidia would then need to send to the U.S. government for approval, the sources familiar with the matter said. They added that internet giants ByteDance and Tencent are in the process of submitting applications. ByteDance denied that it is currently submitting applications. Tencent did not respond to a request for comment. Nvidia has also announced it is developing a new chip for Chinese clients called the RTX Pro GPU that would also be compliant with U.S. export restrictions.
