Ex-Kaizer Chiefs shown door by new club, reunites with Ntseki

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Keagan Dolly has cleared the air following his release from TS Galaxy.
The 32-year-old attacker left Amakhosi last year and has to sit out six months without a club. He joined the Rockets in the second half of the 2024/25 season, where he scored three goals.
Despite his good showing, Dolly was one of the many senior players released by the club. The former Kaizer Chiefs captain is currently with the Bafana Bafana squad for the CHAN tournament.
'I wanted to stay as well, but obviously a few… I won't say problems, but decisions had to be made on a few senior players, and salaries and all of that, but I think the Chairman spoke about it,' he said.
'But for me personally, I don't think it was worth it anymore to stay at the club and not get what you deserve, so I felt like it was time for me to move on and try and look for something better.
'Not only for me, I'm getting to the latter stages of my career, it's also about my family at this point, where everyone is comfortable.
'So, I had to think long and hard about it, because to be fair, TS Galaxy was good to me, a good club that promoted many youngsters. But it was a decision I had to make for my future and my families future,' Dolly said.

Galaxy oozing confidence despite losing key players: Letsoenyo

TS Galaxy left-back Kganyane Letsoenyo is optimistic the team will cope this season after losing a few key players during the break. The Rockets parted ways with Keagan Dolly and Dzenan Zajmovic and sold Kamogelo Sebelebele and Lebone Seema to Orlando Pirates before the new season. Those players played an integral role in helping the Rockets finish fifth in the PSL and secure a spot in the MTN8, where they meet Sekhukhune United in their quarterfinals at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday (6pm). 'We've lost key players but our team is known for producing more, so I don't think we are going to miss them that much as we have new signings who have filled those gaps,' Letsoenyo told Sowetan after the launch of the top eight competition on Wednesday in Randburg. Fresh blood. Fresh fire. They are here to make history!💪🚀 @aQuelle @aQuelleViV #Siyadumuza #TheRockets #TSG — TS Galaxy FC (@TSGALAXYFC) July 31, 2025 Coach Adnan Beganović is in his second season in charge after an impressive first campaign leading the club to a fifth-place finish, having taken over from Sead Ramović six games into the Premiership season in November last year. Letsoenyo believes Beganović can have another good campaign in 2025-2026. 'He wants us to play possession football and since he introduced it last season when he was appointed as head coach he has been adding one or two things from what we have built.' He said the Rockets' plan is to go far in the MTN8 after they were eliminated in the first round last season, but acknowledged that Sekhukhune, last campaign's fourth-placed Premiership finishers, will pose a threat. 'They had a good previous season and we are expecting a tough game, but we are ready for the match. Last season was our first time playing in the MTN8, so this time we know what to expect and we've learnt from that experience.' Galaxy's signings include midfielder Jeffrey Dlamini from Royal AM, forward Sedwyn George from Highbury FC, wingers Anslin Williams from JDR Stars and Onke Moletshe from Venda FC and centreback Veluyeke Zulu. Opinion: Why this is Nasreddine Nabi's last season at Kaizer Chiefs

Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi had high expectations during his 12 months at Kaizer Chiefs, but ultimately delivered disappointing results. The 59-year-old coach was initially sought after by Amakhosi while he was with Yanga. After parting ways with the Tanzanian club in 2023, he joined FAR Rabat in Morocco. At that time, reports indicated that Chiefs were reluctant to hire him along with his three assistants. Instead, the Glamour Boys appointed Molefi Ntseki, but his tenure lasted just four months before Cavin Johnson took over. Sadly, Johnson also struggled to move the team forward. Eventually, Kaizer Chiefs decided to approach Nabi once more, allowing him to bring his technical team this time. Nabi began the season positively, winning his first three matches across all competitions. However, despite a strong start to the 2024/25 campaign, Amakhosi were unable to maintain their momentum and finished ninth in the Betway Premiership. Their only saving grace was winning the Nedbank Cup, which marked the first trophy for the Khosination in a decade and helped secure the coach's position. With the new season starting this weekend, pressure is on the Tunisian coach. Chiefs will not participate in the MTN8 and will play their opening match next weekend against Stellenbosch. Given the team's recent performances in pre-season, it appears unlikely that they will contend for the league title. With the MTN8 out of consideration, Chiefs' realistic chances for silverware now lie in the Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup. Since 2013, Nabi has never coached a team for more than two seasons. Despite his success with Yanga, he was only there for two years. After that, he joined AS FAR but lasted just a season before joining the Soweto giants. In May, there were rumours that Kaizer Chiefs might cut Nabi's stay short despite the Nedbank triumph. It appears the Tunisian was given another season to improve the team. With Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns looking sharp, it seems unlikely that Amakhosi will challenge for top honours. A bad start for Kaizer Chiefs will put pressure on the players, forcing Nabi to quit before his three-year contract expires. The only thing that can see him stay beyond this season is another cup win and top four finish. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
