'Gorgeous' 99p accessory sends fashion fans 'rushing' to Home Bargains

Daily Mirror16 hours ago
Shoppers are keen to get the accessories as they return to shelves and are cheaper than in other high-street stores
Fashion fans are rushing to Home Bargains to get their hands on the store's latest hair accessories, which went viral earlier this year. But, after going out of stock due to popular demand back in February, the clips have now made a return, much to the delight of shoppers.
Better still, the accessories are still just as cheap as when they first hit shelves, priced at just 99p each. Some even claim there are 'similar' clips available at other stores, such as Tesco, but for £5 more.

The plastic bow claw clips come in black and pastel pink and are designed to look like an actual bow holding up your hair. Home Bargains says: "Elevate your hairstyle with the adorable Bow Claw Clip! This chic accessory adds a playful touch while keeping your locks stylishly in place – perfect for any occasion!"

The clips are currently out of stock on Home Bargains' website, but you can sign up for the retailer's 'notify me' system, which will email you when they are available again. Until then, shoppers should visit their local branch to buy them in person.
Home Bargains took to its official Instagram account to share the news with its 1.1 million followers. The budget retailer wrote in the caption: "Cutest Bows Ever… for Just 99p! Adorable hair accessories perfect for ponytails, pigtails, or just feeling extra cute."
It didn't take long for the comment section to fill up with excited messages from fans. One eager shopper admitted: "The bow clips are great got 2 Thursday." A second claimed: "Same stuff in Tesco for about 6 quid," to which Home Bargains replied: "That's the magic of HB." A third said: "Perfect for my preteen daughter." Many others left comments like "omg so cute", "so pretty", "love them" and "super cute". Others were already planning their next shopping trip.
Besides the black and pink plastic claw clips, Home Bargains is also selling a two-pack of clips with real ribbons attached in various colours and sizes, such as cream, black, and leopard print. The store's large satin bows, which also cost 99p, come in five different colours and have a barrette clip.
Tesco is selling a two-pack of Brushworks Satin Hair Bows in black and white for £5.99. The product description reads: "A timeless duo, perfect for elevating half-up, half-down hairstyles. Ultra-soft satin material, crafted from recycled polyester."

The supermarket is also selling slightly thinner Satin Hair Bows by Brushworks in light pink for £4.99. Similarly to Home Bargains' large satin bows, Tesco is also offering shoppers Large Bow Barrette Clips, but for £9.99 each.
Back in January, the bow-shaped clips were an instant hit with fashion fans and many took to social media to share their favourites - including ones at Home Bargains. In a TikTok video uploaded by fashion blogger, Nikita Gerrity, the hair clips are seen on full display as she said: "All only 99p too. The cutest bow and floral hair clips."
Another Tiktok user, Meganlouisebarker, shared a video of what the pink bow clip looks like in her hair. "Run to Home Bargains for the cutest bow clip ever," she told viewers.

Meghan's ‘essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments' wine sells out in under hour

Meghan launched her As Ever Napa Valley Rose 2023, described as having 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish', on Tuesday. The beverage, priced at more than £65 for a minimum three-bottle order, had only appeared to be available for US customers to buy, with shipping addresses limited to America. Meghan and the Duke of Sussex left the UK and moved to California five years ago for a new life after stepping down from the working monarchy. A post shared by @aseverofficial The wine went on sale at 4pm UK time, but the site was updated less than hour later to signal stocks were sold out. In a post on Instagram, the duchess' As Ever brand said: 'It's here! Raise a glass to the newest addition to the As ever family. Our beautiful Napa Valley rose is now available'. A short clip showed the wine being poured into a glass, with accompanying sound. The pale pink wine, in a clear bottle with a white gold-rimmed label, was launched on a dedicated where an over-21 birth date must be inputted to enter and where the drink was described as: 'A delicately balanced rose with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.' The site adds: 'Reminiscent of the finest Provencal styles, it's crisp, pale in color, and effortlessly elegant – crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings. 'This rose captures the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments through its thoughtfully crafted blend.' A post shared by @aseverofficial The wine was not available to buy in orders of less than three bottles. Three bottles cost 90 US dollars (£65.64), six bottles cost 159 dollars (£115.97) including a 12% discount, and 12 bottles are priced at 300 dollars (£218.81) including a 17% discount. Shipping, which begins on July 9, cost an additional flat rate 20 dollars (£14.59) per order. Meghan's wine has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 14.5%. According to the Drink Aware charity, most wines have an ABV of around 11-14%. Meghan added apricot jam to her collection in June after restocking her online store, with items selling out for a second time in a row. A post shared by @aseverofficial The duchess was shown drinking rose during the last episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan earlier this year when she offered chef Alice Waters a glass of wine. 'Would you like a glass of rose while we're cooking?' the duchess said, pouring from a bottle which does not appear to be As Ever wine, having a different label. Meghan added as she drank: 'Might be the best sip of wine I've ever had.' Napa Valley wine country is in northern California, around 50 miles from San Francisco.
