Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer
Before we got this organizer, the trunk of our car was so messy that it was impossible to find anything in there. Hotor Car Trash Can
Garbage piles up so quickly in the car, especially when you have a long commute or go on a road trip. This small trash can hooks onto the headrest so that you have a dedicated place to put all of your straw wrappers, used napkins and more. It definitely saves my husband and me from having constant fights about the car being messy. The same small garbage bags that I use in my bathroom trash can fit in here, so I don't need to add anything else to my Subscribe & Save order. — Amina Lake Patel, home and gifts editor Read our review
WeatherTech Cargo Trunk Liner
I was gifted the WeatherTech Cargo Liner a few years back, and it remains my most useful car accessory. It fits into my trunk seamlessly and has protected my interior while moving to Texas and Northern California and taking countless road trips with an overstuffed trunk. Most recently, it saved me from the never-ending task of cleaning up sand after testing beach wagons and beach umbrellas. I just pulled it out of the trunk, gave it a rinse and placed it back inside. WeatherTech offers this liner for multiple makes and models, so you can find one to fit your vehicle exactly. — Gareen Puglia, associate testing writer

Smell House Paper Wrapped Anywhere Freshener
After moving and a few trips to the beach, I felt like my car needed a refresh. This Smell House Anywhere Freshener in the scent Paper Wrapped does the trick. It's a powerful fragrance that actually smells good, unlike other air fresheners that emit an artificial scent. — Gareen Puglia, associate testing writer
The Thrifty Handmade Daisy Vent Clip
The majority of my time spent in the car is stuck in traffic, so I like to decorate it with things that make me happy. This handmade vent clip never fails to put a smile on my face. Plus, it's not just for show. Put a few drops of essential oil on it and you'll make your car smell great. — Lindsey Smith, newsletter editor
Cleanwaste The Original Wag Bag Toilet Kit, 12-Pack
I sometimes go backpacking and camping where you aren't allowed to dig cat holes, so I've gotten very familiar with using Wag Bags. And while I haven't had to use one in this context yet, I always keep one or two in my car just in case of an emergency. — Kai Burkhardt, outdoors, sustainability and pet editor
Sinsen Car Safety Hammer Set
When I got my first car 20 years ago, the first thing my parents put in it was one of these. Thankfully, I haven't had to use it yet, but it makes me feel better knowing it's there. I keep it within arm's reach in case of an emergency. It's affordable and should be in everyone's car. — Lindsey Smith, newsletter editor
Rightline Gear Moki Ascent Car Door Step

AstroAI Portable Tire Inflator
If you're like me and get anxious when your tire pressure drops while you're away from home, a portable air compressor can come in clutch. Skip paying to add air to your tires at a gas station and keep this easy-to-use machine in your trunk. It pays for itself after just a few uses. Bonus: It's also great for bikes, lawn mowers, balloons and more. — Lindsey Smith, newsletter editor
Rhino USA Folding Survival Shovel With Pick
During the warm months, I love to drive on dirt roads and do a little offroading, but if there's one rule to offroading, it's that you need to be able to rescue yourself if you get stuck. I have more gear to help me do that, but one tool I think everyone should keep in their car is a foldable shovel. I have this one from Rhino USA, and I really like it because it folds up into a tiny bag that's easy to stash. — Kai Burkhardt, outdoors, sustainability and pet editor
ESR Qi2 Car Mount Charger
I don't have GPS or Apple CarPlay in my car, so my phone is my only method of navigation. After testing 14 car phone holders, this one emerged as the best because it mounted my handheld in the perfect position, kept it charged and even actively cooled it with a built-in fan. If you have an iPhone 16, this identical, slightly pricier model has updated firmware optimized for the newer phone. — Joe Bloss, associate testing writer Read our review
Saucemoto Dip Clip
As a self-proclaimed 'sauce queen,' I consider my sauce holders a can't-drive-without car essential. Ogland Furry Steering Wheel Cover
My car's name is Steven, and he has a very specific style. This furry steering wheel cover from Amazon has to be one of my favorite accessories. It's worn over time but still has a fuzzy feel I love holding onto. And yes, it's easy to drive with. The texture might not work for everyone, but we must make sacrifices for fashion. — Gareen Puglia, associate testing writer
TeeTurtle The Original Reversible Penguin Plushmate
I love this adorable stuffed penguin because it can help me process my emotions while driving. If I'm having a good day and I'm driving to a hike, he's happy. But if I'm stuck in traffic and it's raining, he's sad. Is it life-changing? No. But it brings me joy whenever I hop into my car. — Kai Burkhardt, outdoors, sustainability and pet editor CNN Underscored has a team of skilled writers and editors who have many years of experience testing, researching and recommending products, and they ensure each article is carefully edited and products are properly vetted. Here's Why Aehr Test Systems Surged in June (Hint: It's AI related)
Aehr Test Systems is not a one-trick pony, and the company is impressively diversifying its revenue streams. The market is speculating that its new customers could prove lucrative and lasting. 10 stocks we like better than Aehr Test Systems › Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ: AEHR) stock rose by 35.5% in June, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The move comes as positive developments in the end markets that Aehr is targeting helped support the idea that the company can diversify its revenue streams and improve its growth in the process. The company is best known for its test and burn-in equipment for the silicon carbide (SiC) wafer-level burn-in (WLBI) market. As management notes, this end market contributed 90% of Aehr's revenue in 2024. Unfortunately, at least from a near-term perspective, the key driver for Aehr's SiC WLBI solutions is the electric vehicle (EV) market and its associated charging infrastructure. Aehr's key customers in this market, which include ON Semiconductor, have come under pressure due to the ongoing relatively high interest rate negatively impacting EV sales. For reference, and by way of example, Wall Street analysts expect ON Semiconductor's sales to decline by 16.5% in 2025. Consequently, Aehr needs to develop other markets to help offset weakness in its core SiC WLBI market. And the good news is it's not only doing that, but those markets are also in growth mode. The progress was noted in the third-quarter earnings presentation in April with CEO Gayn Erickson outlining that SiC WLBI revenue is now tracking to "less than 40%, with artificial intelligence (AI) processors burn-in representing over 35% of our business in just the first year." Furthermore, in the third quarter, Aehr had four customers accounting for 10% of its revenue, with three of them coming from new markets for Aehr: WLBI for AI processors Packaged part burn-in (PPBI) "for qualification and ongoing process monitoring of AI processors" "WLBI of gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors" Fast forward to June, and the positive momentum in AI and GaN WLBI spending has continued with Nvidia's well-received earnings report coming at the end of May. Moreover, Nvidia is working on developing a data center architecture for the next generation of data centers, starting in 2027, and has named GaN semiconductor company Navitas Semiconductor as a partner. As such, the market is speculating that Navitas could be a potential customer of Aehr Test Systems. The growth of alternative revenue streams is a significant plus for Aehr's investment case, and demand for SiC WLBI is likely to improve over time as EV investment is expected to increase. All told, the company's revenue and earnings remain highly cyclical, but its new end markets are helping to reduce its heavy reliance on EV spending, which has benefited the stock in June. NIO (NIO) Sees 25% Q2 Delivery Surge; Investors Hope It's More Than a One-Off
NIO (NIO, Financials) just turned in its best quarter in a while; and while the stock barely budged, long-term bulls have a reason to feel a little lighter. The Chinese EV maker said it delivered 24,925 vehicles in June a 17.5% jump from the same month last year. Stack that onto Q2 totals, and deliveries are now up more than 25% year over year; no small feat given the price wars still raging across China's EV landscape. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 3 Warning Signs with NIO. The breakdown tells a story of expansion. NIO's flagship premium line delivered 14,593 vehicles; ONVO its newer, family-first sub-brand added 6,400 units; and the final 3,932 vehicles came from other models across the lineup. It's no longer just about luxury sedans; NIO's aiming for driveways beyond downtown Beijing and Shanghai and it's starting to show. Still, the market didn't celebrate; shares were flat in early trading. That's probably less about the numbers and more about the bigger picture; Chinese EV stocks are under pressure, and sentiment's been shaky for months. Even with a solid quarter, investors are watching macro trends; not just monthly stats. Behind the delivery beat is a company that's been quietly pushing through a gauntlet chip shortages; battery cost swings; tightening margins; and aggressive discounting from bigger rivals like BYD and Tesla. Despite that, NIO has managed to maintain volume growth; and that's not just luck it's execution. But volume doesn't pay the bills margins do. And for NIO, margins are still under fire; especially as it tries to scale battery swap stations and double down on software integration. These are bold bets; necessary ones perhaps but costly all the same. Whether these investments pay off depends on what happens in the back half of the year; Q2 was strong, but the follow-through matters more. Subsidy shifts from Beijing haven't helped either; with policymakers now favoring strategic tech over blanket EV support, companies like NIO have to prove they belong on the winner's list not just the participation chart. That's the backdrop heading into Q3; a decent quarter on paper, yes but one that demands careful reading between the lines. Growth is holding; but costs, competition, and consumer fatigue are all pressing in. This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Toyota Rumored To Be Working On Plug-In Hybrid Pickup Truck
Toyota Rumored To Be Working On Plug-In Hybrid Pickup Truck originally appeared on Autoblog. Hybrid pickups have become increasingly popular in recent years, with Ford and Toyota leading the way in the U.S. However, these have been conventional hybrids that can't be plugged in. It seems that plug-in hybrid systems - which add a lot more weight and complexity - are not yet considered a good fit for pickups. That could be set to change over at Toyota, with a report from Japanese magazine Best Car indicating that a PHEV version of the Hilux pickup could be sold when the new one arrives in March next year. While America has the Tacoma, the Hilux is Toyota's mid-size pickup in other markets, so could a Tacoma PHEV be on its way here too? Based on a Drive report, Best Car suggests that the plug-in hybrid Hilux will appear alongside the diesel variant in March next year. No technical details were shared, so it's unknown what this hybrid pickup's battery capacity or all-electric range could be. It would be a far cry from any other Hilux, as Toyota has so far only gone as far as installing a 48-volt mild hybrid system in the pickup. In America, Toyota's midsize Tacoma can be ordered with a non-plug-in hybrid powertrain known as the i-Force Max. Producing 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, it has a lot of power, but its efficiency of 23 mpg is good rather than remarkable, and merely matches that of certain non-hybrid Tacomas. According to an article from CNBC in May, Toyota plans to increase PHEV sales volumes in the USA from 2.4% last year to 20% by 2030, as the brand continues prioritizing hybrids over EVs in this market. 'We are going to grow our PHEV volume through the lineup over the next few years,' David Christ, head of the Toyota brand in North America, told CNBC at the time. 'We love the PHEV powertrain. We're working to increase, perpetually increase, the amount of miles you can drive on EV-only range.' While that statement doesn't guarantee there'll be a Tacoma PHEV, Christ didn't rule out any particular segment of body style, either. Toyota has experience with smaller PHEVs like the RAV4 and Prius, but the Tacoma is a much larger, heavier vehicle, so may require an all-new engine. Then again, the 2026 RAV4 PHEV makes 320 hp, so it's not lacking in power. If the rumors hold and the Hilux PHEV succeeds in markets like Australia, this could encourage Toyota to work on getting a Tacoma PHEV developed. Ford already sells a Ranger PHEV elsewhere, so this could make for a spicy tussle at some point in the future, should both automakers release such models here.
