SINGAPORE: Those travelling to Malaysia on Saturday (June 21) can expect up to a three-hour wait to clear customs at Woodlands Checkpoint, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
In a Facebook post at around 8.15am, ICA said that there is 'very heavy departure traffic' at the checkpoint due to tailback from Malaysia, with traffic congestion extending beyond Exit 10A of the BKE.
ICA warned motorists that they can expect a queueing time of three hours or longer.

Earlier this month, ICA reminded motorists about proper road etiquette, warning those caught jumping queues by its officers at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints that they will have to make a U-turn and rejoin the queue.
They could also be blacklisted and face further disciplinary action from the authorities. - The Straits Times/ANN

Tourist shocked as motorcyclists speed through KL pedestrian lane

A tourist visiting Kuala Lumpur was left stunned after nearly being hit by motorcyclists speeding down a pedestrian lane, an incident he captured on video and shared online. The footage, posted by Facebook user Travel with Chris, shows multiple motorcyclists weaving through walkers near KL Tower, with one rider even saying 'thank you' as he passed. The one-minute clip reveals Chris and his fiancée walking along what appeared to be a designated pedestrian path when motorcycles suddenly zipped past them. 'Motorcycles here in KL drive on the sidewalk during rush hour,' Chris said in disbelief. 'Never in my life have I seen that.' The tourist described how one bike came dangerously close from behind, nearly hitting him. 'It's pretty dangerous. What if there were a wheelchair here?' he questioned, expressing confusion over why riders didn't use the main road instead. The video quickly went viral, prompting reactions from Malaysian netizens. Some clarified that the lane was meant for cyclists and pedestrians only, not motorcycles. Others criticized riders for ignoring traffic rules and putting walkers at risk. 'Cyclists and pedestrians are supposed to share that walkway,' one commenter pointed out, while another admitted avoiding the area due to poor pedestrian design. The incident has reignited discussions on road safety in busy urban areas, particularly during peak hours. Authorities have yet to respond to the viral post.

Gridlock at Woodlands: Three-hour wait for JB-bound travellers today, says Singapore's ICA

SINGAPORE, June 21 — Travellers heading into Malaysia today are facing bumper-to-bumper delays, with Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) warning of a three-hour or longer wait at the Woodlands Checkpoint. In a Facebook update at 8.15am, the ICA cited 'very heavy departure traffic' caused by a tailback from Malaysia. The congestion has spilled beyond Exit 10A of the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), causing significant delays for motorists. With the June school holidays drawing to a close on June 29, authorities expect heavy traffic at both Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints to continue, particularly over the weekends. Motorists were also reminded to follow traffic rules. Earlier this month, the ICA said drivers caught jumping the queue will be ordered to make a U-turn to rejoin the back. Repeat offenders risk being blacklisted and could face disciplinary action. The ICA continues to urge travellers to plan ahead, check real-time traffic updates, and remain patient amid the expected congestion.
