(JSCA) held to elect office bearers and managing committee members of the apex cricketing body in the state.
The voting was held amid elaborate security arrangements at the JSCA stadium.
Shahdeo won the president's post, beating Jamshedpur-based businessman S K Behara. Sanjay Pandey, a team member of Shahdeo, was elected as vice-president along with
as honorary secretary, Amitava Ghosh as treasurer and
as joint secretary. Notably, Saurabh and Nadeem are former international cricket players.
The winners for the managing committee are Parvez Khan, Ramesh Kumar, Sanjay Jain, Mihir Pritesh Topno and Ratnesh Kumar Singh.
Further, D Uma Maheshwar Rao was elected as representative of the affiliated members, while Birendra Kumar Pathak, Shreeram Puri, Raghwendra Narayan Singh and Uttam Kumar Biswas were elected as representatives from the affiliated districts.
Speaking to media persons after the results, Shahdeo thanked all voters who supported his team, which he said comprised players, umpires, scorers and people who love cricket.
"The blessings of the former JSCA chairman, late Amitabh Choudhary, were also with our team. We will improve cricket facilities all over the state with the help of the govt. The state's premier cricket league would also be started so that talented players get the platform to show their skills. We will also aim to improve the state's performance in domestic tournaments," he added.

Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday maintained the existence of 'Hindu terrorism' hours after an NIA court acquited all six accused in the Malegaon blasts case, a verdict termed victory by the BJP against Congress party's 'saffron terror' narrative. Prithviraj Chavan said that while using the 'saffron terror' term may not be appropriate, it should be called 'Hindu terrorism'. "Don't use the term 'Saffron terrorism'. If you want to describe such acts, use 'Hindu fundamentalist' or 'Hindu terrorism' instead," Chavan told PTI. Reacting on Amit Shah's statement that no Hindu can ever be a terrorist, Chavan said that the first terrorist incident in independent India was carried out by Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi. "Which religion did he belong to? Terrorism has no religion. This is the BJP's mindset to connect terrorism with religion," said Chavan, contradicting himself minutes after reaffirming 'Hindu terrorism' stance. "After the 42nd Amendment by PM Indira Gandhi, a part was added in fundamental duties of citizens. It was stated that it shall be the duty of the citizens to inculcate the scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry... I am just asking the government whether what they are saying is in accordance with temper and the spirit of inquiry. We all are Hindu, but we are not Hindutva fundamentalists," asked Chavan. Earlier during the day, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "The way the Congress-led UPA government conspired to set the narrative of saffron terrorism, Hindu terrorism and prepared the entire Malegaon case, today it has been exposed... Congress tried to bring the narrative to please its vote bank, especially the vote bank of a particular religion. The work done by Congress to label all Hindus as terrorists, today, the whole country is condemning it. We demand that Congress apologise for calling out terms like Hindu terrorism and saffron terrorism." Mumbai Special National Investigative Agency Court (NIA) on Thursday acquitted all seven accused of being involved in the 2008 blasts in Malegaon, with the court saying the prosecution failed to establish the case beyond a reasonable doubt. A total of seven people were accused, including former MP Sadhvi Pragya, Major (retired) Ramesh Upadhyay, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, Ajay Rahirkar, Sudhankar Dhar Dwivedi (Shankaracharya) and Sameer Kulkarni.

Alleging that the ECI and BJP were working together, Gandhi said, "Within four months in Maharashtra -- from Lok Sabha polls to the assembly polls -- one crore voters have increased. We sought the voters' list from the EC, but they are yet to provide it. We asked for the videos of the booths, but we were not given. The new voters voted for the BJP. In the Lok Sabha polls, our alliance won the polls. Then one crore voters come, and we lose the assembly polls."

Amit Shah has promised to take steps to release arrested nuns: MP
ew Delhi Amid a raging row in Kerala over the arrest of two nuns from the State in Chhattisgarh over allegations of human trafficking and forced conversion, a Congress-led United Democratic Front MP on Thursday claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised that all possible steps would be taken to ensure their release. All political parties in Kerala, including the BJP have thrown their weight behind the nuns, who have been detained in the saffron-party ruled Chhattisgarh. UDF MP, N. K. Premachandran told reporters in New Delhi, after a delegation of MPs from Kerala met Mr. Shah over the issue, that the Minister has assured them of all legal steps by the Centre and the Chhattisgarh government to ensure the release of the two nuns. He also said that Mr. Shah's remarks during the meeting indicated that he believed the nuns were innocent. Mr. Premachandran said that it was 'unfortunate' that a sessions court in Durg, Chhattisgarh, shifted the nuns' case to a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court which deals with terror-related matters. 'It was done without hearing any of the sides. There was actually no need to do that,' he said. The MP said that Mr. Shah, during the meeting, also assured them that the Chhattisgarh government will move a plea in the NIA court to shift the case from there. Mr. Shah informed them that directions have been issued to the State government not to oppose the bail plea of the nuns, he added. 'Therefore, we are 99% hopeful that the nuns will get bail today itself. The Central government and the Home Minister have taken a favourable stand in the matter,' Mr. Premachandran added. Nuns Preeti Mary and Vandana Francis along with Sukaman Mandavi were arrested at the Durg railway station on July 25 following a complaint by a local Bajrang Dal functionary who accused them of forcibly converting three girls from Narayanpur and trafficking them.
