One killed, another burned in fatal West Valley rollover
Lt. Bill Merritt with the West Valley Police Department said the crash happened around 2:40 a.m. near 3700 South and 5600 West. When officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly found the RV on its side.
Merritt confirmed that one person died on the scene in the crash, while another was taken to the hospital with burns. Their condition is unknown. It is currently unclear what led to the rollover crash.
As police are investigating, 5600 West in both directions has been closed down to traffic, according to Lt. Merritt. The West Valley Police Department is encouraging the public to avoid the area.
The Utah Department of Transportation advises drivers to use Mountain View Corridor or Bangerter Highway as an alternate route around the crash. However, as of 6:30 a.m., the UDOT Traffic Monitor shows heavily slowed traffic on the northbound lanes of Mountain View Corridor.
There is no estimate for when 5600 West will reopen.

I-80 in Salt Lake City reopens after suspect shoots at police and tow truck driver
UPDATE AS OF 8:10 A.M.: The Utah Department of Transportation said the eastbound lanes of I-80 from 5600 West to 3200 West have been reopened. However, morning commuters can expect residual delays in the area. ORIGINAL STORY SALT LAKE CITY () — I-80 between Bangerter Highway and I-215 has been shut down Monday morning after police say a 44-year-old man opened fire on a tow truck driver and Salt Lake City officers late Sunday night. The Salt Lake City Police Department said the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on June 29, when the tow truck driver reported someone shooting at him 'multiple times' near North Redwood Road and West North Temple. The suspect allegedly continued shooting as he drove away from the scene. Salt Lake City officers responded to and found the 44-year-old suspect and attempted to stop the car, but the driver reportedly did not comply. The driver allegedly continued to shoot toward officers, damaging at least three patrol cars. Officers returned fire and eventually stopped the suspect's car by using a PIT maneuver on I-80, just south of the airport on North Temple, bringing the pursuit to an end. The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, was taken into custody and taken to the hospital in critical condition. The Salt Lake City Police Department said he remains under police watch as he receives medical care. 'It is remarkable that none of our officers or community members were hurt during this dangerous incident,' said Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd. 'Our officers had to make split-second decisions to stop an immediate threat. Their response was courageous and focused on protecting our community.' The Officer Involved Critical Incident (OICI) protocol was activated as a result of the shooting. Three Salt Lake City Police officers and two sergeants were placed on administrative leave, pending the investigation, as is standard with an OICI incident. The West Jordan Police Department is leading the investigation into the incident. As of 6:15 a.m. on June 30, eastbound lanes of I-80 toward Salt Lake City remain closed between 5600 West and 3200 West. Salt Lake City Police said this closure is likely to remain closed through the morning rush hour commute. The Utah Department of Transportation said drivers can expect delays in the area and suggested using SR-201 as an alternate route into Salt Lake City. This is a developing story. Forsyth Fire impacting lives of ranchers in southern Utah
PINE VALLEY, Utah () — The Forsyth Fire hasn't just threatened homes, it's also disrupted a way of life that families have known for decades. Pine Valley is a tight-knit ranch town where generations of families have made a living off of the land. But as the Forsyth Fire burns through the area, many ranchers are facing both a difficult and emotional challenge. Larry Gardiner, who lives in Pine Valley, says this isn't just where they work. It's where they live, where they raise their cattle and where they've built their entire lives, spending all 76 of their years there. Forsyth Fire burning over 7,000 acres, still at 0% containment He and his neighbors have been working nonstop either protecting cattle where they are or moving them from Pine Valley to Grass Valley, only to have the fire force them to move again. 'It's a hardship,' Gardiner said. 'People were coming in yesterday, day before yesterday, getting their cattle here and moving them to Grass Valley. Then the fire went to Grass Valley, so they'll move them and keep them out of harm's way.' The Utah Department of Agriculture said in a statement to ABC4 that there is an Emergency Disaster Relief Loan Program available for those who have been impacted. They are also coordinating with the Division of Wildlife Resources to help producers find grazing land. They say there isn't much land available in southern Utah but are reaching out to affected ranchers in the area with updates.
