Lorraine Kelly blasts 'strangest thing' about Gregg Wallace MasterChef scandal
Last week, Gregg hit out at the BBC in a statement, stating that "none of the serious allegations against me were upheld" and that a late autism diagnosis helped him to understand how he communicates.
"To those who've shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won't be the last."
Speaking about the scandal on her ITV show this morning, Lorraine said: "It's quite strange because he has a little boy who has autism as well - I find that bizarre, I find that very strange."
Meanwhile, guest Nicola Thorp - who appeared on Coronation Street - called for MasterChef's executive producer to be fired.
"There's two things that need to happen in the entertainment industry - number one, we need a centralised reporting system," Nicola said on ITV's Lorraine.
"The second thing that needs to happen is, instead of firing individual presenters, they need to fire executive producers. I promise you, if not just the presenter but the executive producers get the sack, those exec producers will make sure that everybody on set is treated fairly and make sure people are reporting right to the top."
She later added: "I was made aware of Gregg Wallace a long time ago but people weren't listening about the comments being made."

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks shows off extreme weight loss in skimpy black dress
EastEnders star, Charlie Brooks, famous for playing Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, has shown off the results of her recent weight loss, posing in a dress she bought 22 years ago EastEnders actress, Charlie Brooks, has posted a jaw-dropping snap on Instagram in which she shows off the results of her extreme weight loss. The mum-of-one, 44, famous for playing the conniving Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, poses up a storm in the photo in which she wears a slinky black dress she bought 22 years ago, telling fans she was "very happy". She captioned the selfie in which she sports the geometric print mini dress, chunky black boots, gold jewellery and with her blonde locks piled on top of her head: "Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn't look happy. But I am actually very happy." Charlie's followers loved the post, with one replying: "Love it! Bonus it still fits and you look amazing!! Xx." While another gushed: "You look gorgeous! I love that dress! This is stunning!!" The soap legend, who gave birth to her daughter Kiki, who she shares with ex fiancé, Tony Truman, 20 years ago, previously admitted she'd become "slightly obsessive" with losing weight after dropping two stone in two months. Charlie filmed her fitness DVD, Charlie Brooks' Before & After Workout, in 2005, but later revealed how the process effected her confidence. Speaking with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2021, Charlie revealed she'd had "quite a complicated relationship" with her body and went "all in" when she filmed her DVD. She said: "I don't regret it, because it gave me an awareness of my body, but on the other hand, I crossed over into that kind of slightly obsessive weight loss thing. "You know, always wanting to get back to "that". "I've definitely had quite a complicated relationship with my body, never feeling pretty enough or healthy enough, and with the DVD it was extreme. I went all in." Charlie added that she still struggles at times and heartbreakingly admitted she can feel "disgusting", but is now about "70 per cent" of the way to accepting her body. Last week, Charlie revealed she's currently not working, two and a half years after her epic soap exit. Best-known for playing Janine on the long-running hit UK television show, Charlie recently took to Instagram to talk about life since leaving the BBC series. Sharing a picture in which the actress can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear while donning a black ensemble with sunglasses to match, Charlie captioned her post: 'Life is good. As someone who is generally validated by work…Turns out being at home, chilling with my dog, taking long walks, reforming, reading and actually getting to hang out with my friends doing everything and nothing makes me really f**king happy.'

Jeremy Clarkson to front new ITV show Millionaire Hot Seat
Millionaire Hot Seat will see 18 episodes in a fast-paced version of the classic quiz show. It will be presented by former Top Gear star Clarkson, who has fronted the show since 2018 after replacing former host Chris Tarrant. Millionaire Hot Seat has aired in Australia since 2009 and had 15 high-rating series. What are the rules of Millionaire Hot Seat? The format of the show sees six players compete against the clock and one another as they answer questions in a bid to win big money. Contestants queue for the hot seat, where one person at a time will face Clarkson. They then have to answer questions on the Million Pound Money Ladder. What does he do to hit the MEGA jackpot?#9MillionaireHotSeat | TODAY 5.00pm — Millionaire Hot Seat (@9HotSeat_) January 31, 2017 Only correct answers allow the players to climb up the ladder and a wrong answer will kick them out of the game and decrease the top prize. However, if a participant passes, they remain in the game and go to the back of the line for the hot seat, but they aren't promised another turn. The passed question is then given to the next player who must answer it correctly to stay. Who is Jeremy Clarkson? In another twist, only the top prize left on the ladder can be won and the player taking on the question has to get it right to take it home. Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment & daytime commissioning at ITV, said: 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has reached 18 million viewers on ITV so far this year alone. 'Commissioning a new spin off format to further capitalise on the brand's success and popularity was a no brainer, especially with Millionaire Hot Seat already doing so well in other territories also.' Recommended reading: Matthew Worthy, co-CEO of Stellify Media, said: 'It is an honour to produce Millionaire for ITV. 'Millionaire Hot Seat is the main show's cheeky younger sibling, and gives us more Jeremy, enjoying more money-ladder moments, but with a whole new tone, pace, and feel.' Millionaire Hot Seat is set to hit UK screens in 2026, with filming to get underway this November.

John Torode's MasterChef replacement 'confirmed' as Gogglebox fan favourite following BBC axe
A favourite to replace John Torode on MasterChef has emerged in the wake of the BBC's bombshell announcement that the 59-year-old had been sacked from the show. A Gogglebox fan favourite has emerged as the leading contender to replace John Torode on MasterChef following his dismissal. In a shocking revelation, the BBC confirmed on Tuesday, July 16, that they would not be renewing his contract. It comes after an historic allegation of racism which the Australian chef, 59, strongly denies and claims to have no recollection of, was upheld by an independent investigation into John's co-host, Gregg Wallace. This development followed the termination of Gregg, 60, from MasterChef in light of the inquiry into his conduct. The investigation, carried out by legal firm Lewis Silkin, found that 45 out of 83 accusations levelled against the father-of-three were corroborated. These were predominantly involving inappropriate sexual language and humour. In the aftermath of Gregg and John's departure, Gogglebox star Andi Oliver has surfaced as the prime candidate to host MasterChef, reports the Mirror. According to Great British Menu star Andi is currently the favourite with odds of 5/2 (28.6%). Renowned for her vibrant energy and authority on GBM, Andi's culinary prowess has made her a popular choice among fans and bookies alike. She would also mark history as the first black woman to present the show. The betting markets have responded swiftly to John and Gregg's exit from MasterChef, with odds analyst, Dave James, disclosing that a well-known celebrity chef is also vying for the position. He remarked: "Andi Oliver remains the market leader, but Tom Kerridge is attracting a lot of support. His profile is huge, and he's one of the most trusted names in British food. This could come down to what direction the BBC wants – prestige, relatability, or a bit of both." Tom, who currently stands at odds of 3/1 (25%), runs several eateries, fronts numerous BBC programmes, and is known for marrying haute cuisine with broad appeal, not to mention being the creator of the £37 fish and chips at Harrod's. Poppy O'Toole, an emerging sensation on TikTok and within contemporary food media, is also a contender with odds of 4/1 (20%), followed by Angela Hartnett at 5/1 (16.7%), and Great British Bake Off favourite Nadiya Hussain at 6/1 (14.3%). Elsewhere less unlikely but not without a chance is James Martin and Grace Dent, who stepped in on Celebrity MasterChef alongside John when Gregg withdrew amid an inquiry into his conduct on the programme. Nigella Lawson, Marcus Wareing, and even John's spouse, Lisa Faulkner, also remain possible candidates as the future of MasterChef remains uncertain. Another prominent figure tipped to take over the iconic BBC series is Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt. It's rumoured that the experienced presenter has already secured the role for MasterChef: The Professionals. Matt played it cool regarding the prospect of presenting MasterChef after Gregg's departure earlier this year. Speaking to Muddy Stilettos about potentially co-hosting with John while he was still employed on the show, he remarked: "Well, there's always rumours, but it would be a great gig for sure!".
