And Sky Family will be renamed to SkySchoolsOut / SchoolsOutHD. Sky is bringing back TWO channels tomorrow after they disappeared from TV guides The reasons behind channel changes The broadcasting giant typically only announces channel swaps for Sky customers for the week ahead. These TV guide shake-ups can take place for a number of reasons. Sometimes Sky will be forced to close channels – either due to a lack of interest, or because the channel operator has decided to pull it. But Sky doesn't run all channels broadcast on TV, so some closures are out of their control. Sky will also rebrand channels due to demand, to test a content type, or to tie in with an event or holiday (like Easter weekend). The TV titan made dozens of these changes in April, including the permanent closure of several channels.
