
King Salman Academy Collaborates with Indiana University on Teaching Arabic
As part of the second phase of the Arabic Language Teacher Training Project for Non-Native Speakers, the program seeks to develop teachers' skills, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to run until April 8, the program will explore new advanced teaching techniques.
The Academy's Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, stated that the academy aims to boost the quality of teaching and expand the use of linguistic proficiency tests, such as the Academic Hamza Test.
Al-Washmi also noted that the current cooperation with Indiana University stands as a testament to the Academy's commitment to exchanging academic expertise.
Importantly, this collaboration will offer the academy an exclusive opportunity to leverage from the best practices in teaching the Arabic language at the international level.
The program features an introductory course on language tests and a specialized course on training Arabic teachers for non-native speakers.
Through modern teaching strategies, the program focuses on developing teachers' professional performance.
This remarkable milestone follows successful programs in Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, India, France, Brazil, Thailand, and Malaysia.

First graduates complete KSGAAL's linguistic proofreading course
RIYADH: The first cohort of the Higher Diploma in Linguistic Proofreading program at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language celebrated their graduation on Tuesday. The ceremony was held at the academy's headquarters in Riyadh and attended by prominent academics, students and trainers. Abdullah Al-Washmi, the academy's secretary-general, said the program reflected the academy's commitment to empowering the Arabic language within government institutions. He added the program was a pioneering model in supporting the professional development of Arabic language specialists. The one-year program is open to professionals working in editing and proofreading roles within government agencies and is accredited by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The training pathway designed by the academy focuses on preparing specialized national linguistic teams. Its methodology integrates theoretical and practical aspects to meet the needs of government sectors and enhance the efficiency of Arabic language usage. Tuesday's ceremony saw 60 graduates honored for completing the program, which includes 435 training hours delivered by 16 trainers.
