Spider-Man team arrives in UK city to film 'after being forced to change location'

Daily Mirror5 days ago
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released next year and filming, featuring the likes of Zendaya, will reportedly be underway in Glasgow from tomorrow
The upcoming Spider-Man sequel is reportedly set to begin filming in the UK later this week. The likes of Tom Holland and co-star Zendaya expected to be on location for the production, which has seen a city transformed into another.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is a sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), is due to be released on July 31 next year. It will mark the fourth solo film starring Tom, 29, as Peter Parker, who goes by the titular superhero name.

It was previously announced that Glasgow would be used as a location for the film. It's now been reported that filming will begin in the city, which will appear as New York, later this week. The news comes amid the Devil Wears Prada sequel having begun filming in the actual New York City.

Photos of Glasgow show the city having been transformed into New York City for the production. It includes flags, roadworks and street signs having been introduced, as well as international vehicles being spotted in the area too.
The Sun reports that it was originally due to be filmed in Liverpool. It however claims that it was later decided to relocate the production after the Liverpool FC victory parade crash in May that left more than 100 people injured.

A source told the outlet that production has "started," adding: "It's really exciting for film fans living in Glasgow as they will see their city in the next movie." They said that it's "uncanny" how much the city now looks like the Big Apple.
The source went on to say: "Originally the plan was to film a lot of it in Liverpool but after the crash, they changed the plans." They added: "There were discussions about whether it was appropriate to stage big stunts, including car chases and explosions, in light of the awful incident."
According to the Herald, filming on Spider-Man: Brand New Day is due to begin in the city tomorrow. It reports that a number of roads in Glasgow are due to be closed off to accommodate the production between August 1 and 16.

Tom previously confirmed that Glasgow would be used for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He also shared her excitement over getting to film on location again, after having worked exclusively on soundstages for the last Spider-Man film.
In an interview for news outlet Flip Your Wig, shared on Instagram earlier this month, Tom said: "We were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID." He said that the "entire" film had been shot on stages.
He said: "Now, we're really gonna lean into that old school filmmaking and shoot in real locations - which is why we're starting in Glasgow. We're gonna use the streets of Glasgow for this massive set piece that we're putting together."
Tom is set to lead the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside his fiancée Zendaya, who plays Michelle Jones-Watson, known as MJ, in the franchise. Jacob Batalon is also expected to reprise his role as Ned Leeds in the film.

Writing online, fans have called for The Repair Shop to be axed after nearly a decade on air. One penned: "Could never see the point of him being in the Repair Shop he never restored anything but worn a new leather apron the show is better without him now." Another added: "Surely you must take the Repair shop off now if the presenter is accused of physical rape." A third queried: "Will the BBC be pulling repeats of The Repair Shop now?" Police confirmed the allegations against the dad of three from Shropshire. He fronted the hit BBC show for seven years before stepping back last year. King Charles appeared alongside him on a special episode in 2022. West Mercia Police confirmed charges against the dad of three, with a magistrates' court date set for next Wednesday. A spokesperson said: 'Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape. Axed TV host Jay Blades was weeks away from starring on new reality series before domestic violence arrest "He is due to appear at Telford magistrates' court on 13 August 2025.' The TV star is currently awaiting trial on a separate charge of controlling and coercive behaviour against estranged wife Lisa-Marie Zbozen, which he has denied. He was arrested in May 2024 - on the same day fitness instructor Lisa announced her decision to end their 18-month marriage. In September, Blades was charged. His actions allegedly caused Lisa 'to fear, on at least two occasions, that violence will be used against her'. The presenter pleaded not guilty to the charge — which relates to the period between January 1, 2023 and September 12, 2024 — at a court hearing last October. As well as fronting The Repair Shop since 2017, Blades also hosted BBC shows including Money For Nothing and Jay Blades' Home Fix.

Romeo Beckham shares cryptic tattoo amid family feud with brother Brooklyn

Romeo Beckham added a new tattoo to his extensive ink collection, which comes after it was revealed Brooklyn no longer follows him and brother Cruz on social media Romeo Beckham showed off his brand-new tattoo on Tuesday, adding to his already extensive ink collection. Just like his father and brothers, the 22-year-old is covered in endless tattoos and his latest one is a short phrase that some have taken as a dig at his brother, Brooklyn Beckham. ‌ The Beckham family have been embroiled in a massive feud in recent months. The family feud appeared to gather pace when Brooklyn failed to attend his father's 50th birthday party in May, which, according to reports, left David heartbroken. It also emerged that neither Nicola Peltz nor Brooklyn was following his brother's Instagram accounts. ‌ But according to the publication, sources revealed that it was in fact Cruz and Romeo who have blocked Brooklyn. It comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. ‌ And now, Romeo seemingly took a dig at Brooklyn with his new tattoo. The star took to his social media page to share the phrase 'C'est La Vie' which he got tattooed on top of his shoulder. The tattoo is French for 'that's life' or 'such is life'. The phrase is used to say that certain situations happen in life, and there is nothing you could do about them. ‌ It comes several weeks after Romeo issued a sharp response to Brooklyn seemingly unfollowing him and Cruz on social media. Romeo posted a screenshot of his Spotify, showing he was listening to a song entitled Walking Away, from Justin Bieber's new surprise album, titled Swag. ‌ Along with the screenshot, he wrote: "Yup" in a one word response to his brother's latest brutal move. He has also returned the favour by unfollowing Brooklyn on Instagram, too. Romeo also does not follow Brooklyn's wife, Nicola, on Instagram. The feuding siblings' brother Cruz, 20, also doesn't follow Brooklyn on Instagram. Meanwhile, those close to Brooklyn told The Sun last month that Brooklyn and Nicola did not unfollow the brothers and had "no idea" about it until he read about it online. "It's possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers," they said. ‌ "He and Nicola certainly didn't unfollow them or block them — they're as confused as anyone else. The first they heard about it was when it was being reported on." Hot sauce entrepreneur Brooklyn still follows his famous mum and dad, so it is unclear if a war of words between himself and his brothers may have been happening behind the scenes.
