You can do free yoga in Grand Central Terminal's iconic Vanderbilt Hall this summer
In celebration of the International Day of Yoga, Grand Central is hosting a trio of movement sessions open to the public. The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with a kid-friendly fitness and yoga class led by Adriana Zito, a veteran trainer known for bringing her energy-packed workouts to cruise ships, college campuses and Brooklyn block parties. If your little yogis can hold a downward dog longer than you can, now's their moment.
Then at noon and again at 1 p.m., Killer Bodies NYC takes over for two energizing adult sessions promising 'energy, empowerment and yoga.' No equipment necessary—just bring yourself, a water bottle and maybe a towel if you're the sweaty type.
This wellness moment is part of a broader 'Summer Fun' series announced this week by the MTA. From book readings and stand-up comedy to kids' concerts and painting nights, Grand Central is going full community hub this summer. The event lineup was developed after public feedback from Summer Streets last year and the programming is aimed squarely at making NYC transit feel a little less… stressful.
It's also a savvy move to bring more foot traffic through the station, especially with new restaurants opening soon, including Palladino's Steak & Seafood and San Wei's ramen-and-dumpling spot. 'We are very excited to bring a first-of-its-kind series of summer events to Grand Central,' said David Florio, MTA's chief of real estate transactions. 'Grand Central is a perfect space to bring people together.'
It turns out Vanderbilt Hall is no longer just where you dart through with a latte; it's your new go-to yoga studio. RSVP is recommended via Grand Central's website, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.

Sir Tom Jones has returned to the stage a week after being forced to cancel a show due to health issues. Last week the singer, 85, announced he was unable to perform in Bremen, Germany due to an upper respiratory infection. At the time he explained he 'needed treatment and rest', also apologising to fans for the 'disappointment and inconvenience'. A few days after the cancellation, Sir Tom had been due to headline a festival at the Dundee Waterfront this weekend. Their reassurances were luckily correct, with the crooner recovering in time to be able to delight fans at the event last night. Photos and videos from the festival show Sir Tom – best known for hits including It's Not Unusual, Sexbomb and Delilah – looking fighting fit, standing up on stage and swinging as he sung. Posting a clip on X, fan Anne Marie wrote: 'Tom Jones in Dundee yesterday, just wow! 85yrs old and he still has it.' Sir Tom's cancelled show had been part of his Defy Explanation tour, which kicked off in June and is set to run until the end of August with dates across the UK and Europe. During a recent show at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark, he joked: 'Is my voice still working? Yes? So as long as it's here, I'm here.' Last year, Sir Tom told Metro the only way he would retire would be if he completely lost his voice. 'I wouldn't like to shortchange an audience, 'he said. Being old, you can't do what you used to do. 'I mean, I can't walk around like I used to, but I wouldn't want to now. When you're young you're full of p*** and vinegar and you're giving it plenty. Netflix quietly cancels 'gem of a series' with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

In late 2023, documentary maker Greg Whitely treated fans to Wrestlers, which gave an peek behind the scenes at how a professional wrestling company was really run. It still has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, but Al Snow – whose promotion OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) was the focus of the series – has exclusively told Metro that a second season is officially off the table for Netflix. 'There were certainly talks. They had an option for a second season up until last September, and they just never took the option,' he explained. '[It] just ticked past. The 62-year-old star heard on the grapevine that there had been some behind the scenes moves 'to do basically the same format with more established brands'. Indeed, filmmaker Whitely went onto work on series featuring the likes of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, while Netflix launched WWE Unreal this week, which gives fans an intimate look behind the curtain of the worldwide juggernaut. Al, who wrestled for WWE from 1995 to 2008, insisted the new WWE series is 'good for everybody', while the door isn't shut on OVW reviving Wrestlers in another way. 'From what I understand, we have the option to have a second season, if we wish. We just would do it with a different streaming service than Netflix,' he added. Confirmation Wrestlers isn't returning to the streamer will be a blow to viewers, who had hoped for a second season after getting hooked on the original run. 'This wrestling documentary is amazing! It made me cry because I felt the hard work of all the wrestlers and everyone at OVW,' wrote Charish Herida on Google Reviews. 'Great show the whole family can watch together. Fantastic binge worthy series,' added Kelly iztheBest, while William Luckett said: 'Greg Whitely makes amazingly intimate portrayals that you can tell are authentic and not overproduced.' And Simon Manley said: 'There are heavy emotional moments in here as well as heavy bumps and hats off to [them], there are some real cinematic moments here too. Greg Whiteley has created an absolute gem of a series that wrestling fans and non-wrestling fans alike will love.' Thankfully for OVW fans, the company is still going strong after being bought out by UK-based sports agency Morley Sports Management (MSM), who are launching a new initiative to give athletes in football, rugby and other sports a launchpad into wrestling. Producer of the show Kate Brooks noted: 'Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit. 'We're incredibly sad to bid farewell to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of Corrie's biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul's MND. 'An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an absolute treasure behind the scenes – he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles.'
