Mimoh Chakraborty recalls the ‘mega stardom' wife Madalsa Sharma saw with Anupamaa: ‘My dad Mithun Chakraborty pushed her to take it up'
Talking about the time Madalsa was offered the show, Mimoh said, 'She got this show offered at the peak of COVID-19. Lockdown was in March and they started shooting in July. They were shooting in extreme conditions. She took the dare, and my dad pushed her and supported her to take this up. He always says that if you ever get a shot on TV, take it. He says that the generation today knows him because of TV, so we never let go of a good opportunity on TV if we get one.'

'She took it, and the show became a blockbuster. She saw mega-stardom. Everywhere she goes, it's Anupamaa Ki Kavya. It's a proud feeling as a husband. I have seen her waking up every day at 5 am, leaving at 6 am for the shoot, and being on set at 7 am. They would shoot till 9-10 pm, and she would be so tired that she would fall asleep while having dinner. There is so much work to do in TV, but she never gave up,' Mimoh added.
Talking about the success of Anupamaa, Mimoh Chakraborty said, 'I was completely blown away to see the popularity her character in Anupamaa got. None of us had imagined it would be the way it is. Even today, when we go out, 90 per cent of people call her Kavya. Anupamaa penetrated every generation. Her role was very strong. Kavya was a woman of today; she stood up for what she believed in.'
Mimoh also spoke about how they got married and said that his dad, Mithun Chakraborty, had a crucial role to play in it. 'I had done a film with Madalsa's mom, Sheela David, called Hamilton Palace, and we had always known each other. That's how I met Madalsa. We were friends. There was familiarity. Her dad had worked with my dad. When the marriage conversations began, we just started talking to each other, and one thing led to another.'

'One day, I told her that my dad is very much into astrology, and I asked for her birth details to see what the future had in store for her. When I gave her birth details to dad, he said that we would make a good couple. When I told this to Madalsa, she thought it was very clever — kind of like a smooth way to DM her. And then, we got married,' said Mimoh.
Mimoh Chakraborty and Madalsa Sharma tied the knot in 2018. On the work front, after Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, Mimoh will be next seen in the next installment of the Haunted franchise.
